Heacaches on DD

once a week, usually on Tuesday's DDs, I end up with a rip-roaring headache staring around 3 and lasting throughout the evening.

I'm aiming for 500 calories, and usually don't eat until 1, then again when I get home around 5:30.

I don't seem to have this problem on my Sunday or Thursday DDs. But this is the third week running where I've been crawling home and going straight for the pain killers.

By the time I eat dinner, I'm feeling much better. Food and Ibuprofen usually kick it.

Is there anything at all you are doing different on Tuesday than the other days? What are you eating? I was getting lightheaded and headaches when I wasn't eating enough. I have to space it out and I feel much better. I usually have a protein shake I sip on about 1030 then have half cup Greek yogurt in the afternoon and munch on sliced cucumber if I need it. The protein made a big difference for me.
Give us a little more info and we may be able to help more. Oh I also notice if I drink chicken broth it helps a lot. The bullion cubes are great. I keep them in my desk at work.

Sometimes headaches are a result of dehydration. Is it possible you are not getting enough fluid in on your DD's? I hope you find the solution. Headaches are the pits.

I get horrible headaches with dehydration as well as with allergies. Whenever the weather changes, I get them.

Broth is a great idea as well. Sometimes your electrolytes will get all out of balance if you don't get enough sodium on a DD.

I hope you get it figured out!

Dehydration is always a danger we all need to watch for.

But, that pattern is too weird. IS there anything different between Tuesday and Thursday? Are you in a different environment on those two days? Do you do something different on the two mornings? Next Tuesday can you plan some low cal snack/meal for late morning? Too see if food is even playing into this.

I can't figure out a difference. Tuesdays and Thursdays I go into town to work. So the routine is almost exactly the same. I get up early (my commute is an hour and a half). I drink coffee until lunch. My lunch is always the same on those days -- salad, dressing, hard cooked egg, celery, olives, chicken bone broth with miso.

Mondays are UDs, and I work at home. Wednesdays are UDs and I work in town. UD food may be very different. But DD work lunches are exactly the same every Tuesday/Thursday, week in week out.

The only difference might be that if my fasting blood sugar is high on a DD, I eat a little something in the morning, too, rather than just coffee until lunch. But I haven't had to do that much lately. My FBG have been okay.

I'm thinking maybe it is a dehydration thing... I didn't drink anything but my two mugs of coffee and my cup and a half of broth yesterday. And a diet soda in the evening. I'm starting out this morning with cottage cheese and a big glass of water. It's an UD today, but I still have residual headache, so we'll see if the water helps.

It could be a salt and/or potassium deficiency. I was having problems with headaches and vertigo for the past couple of weeks and I have never been one to get headaches or to feel dizzy. This past Sunday I could hardly function and ended up laying around doing nothing all day I was beginning to think that my HCG adventure had damaged me for life. Anyhow, I started doing some research on the internet and found out that because I had made so many changes to my diet in the past couple months (going from high carb vegetarian to low carb paleo) that my body was now working more efficiently but that I required more salt and potassium, being deficient in these elements causes both headaches and vertigo. On Monday I started adding a pinch of seasalt to my water everytime I filled my water bottle and I put more seasalt on my food. I had been taking potassium supplements but not very consistently so I increased those. Yesterday the headache and the vertigo was gone, same for today and I feel much, much better, I have a lot more energy. It also seems to have helped with the constipation I was dealing with.

Hope you get it figured out FAST. And I hope it's something as simple as just drinking more glasses of iced water, or eating half an apple with a bit of cheddar cheese at NOON, etc.

I HATE headaches. Almost any other kind of pain in any other part of my body can be endured better than headaches. Thankfully, I rarely get headache these years now.

Hope this is now at an end.

This was also what helped me as well when I had headaches and dizzyness on DDs early on. I started adding more Himalayan sea salt in my food and would have one of those tiny cans of low sodium V8 (for the much higher potassium % since I can easily add sodium into my diet) on DDs if I started feeling that way and it would just go away. Now I just make sure my food is nutritionally dense on UDs and as much as possible as well on DDs and get in enough salt and potassium, and the headaches and dizzyness on DDs haven't come back.
