Very very hungry today!!

I have been running almost every day and find that I have more energy on the mornings after my ud (makes sense because I ate well the previous day.) Today is my dd and I ran my 6 miles this morning. I ate a 180 calorie protein bar before I ran but am now starving! I am counting the seconds until 12:00 which is when I am allowing myself my 120 calorie lunch.

I know some people don't exercise because the say it makes them hungrier (which I totally agree) but I feel so much better about myself when I run and I am more motivated to eat well.

I was thinking of adding 100 calories to my 500 dd but it seems like that would be counterproductive. I think I may be going to bed very early tonight

Dr. J specifically advises against working out on DDs.

I know many do, but I never have because I agree with him that it's not healthy to stress the body with so little food intake, and managing my DD calories is more important than 'working out' in my own weight-loss experience.

Did it say that we are stressing the body by working out on down days or did he advise against it because of an increase in appetite? I read the book but don't remember exactly...

I work out on DDs and always have. There are times it makes me extra hungry and times I can go forever and don't get hungry. If you need to add the extra cals to it. I don't eat back my cals but I do feel way better when I make sure to eat at least 500.

My first thought was that perhaps some ingredient in the protein bar set off your hunger. I know that some things are better than others for me to eat on DDs. I hope you figure it out quickly. It's no fun to be hungry.

I usually have an Atkins bar in the morning. I know not the best choice but it gives me enough energy for my workout and is fast and easy.

I have so much more energy the morning after an ud so my run is better. The morning after a dd I have a lot less energy.

I went over about 69 calories today at 569. I cant wait to wake up tomorrow morning
