Thank you SOPHIETHECAT! I really had my doubts about this way of eating for a long while before I joined, but NO MORE DOUBTS in this camp! I know a lot of it is water weight, but that's ok...have to start somewhere!

Hi, Carole! I'm tickled to see you here!

And, yes.. JUDDD really, really is a remarkable plan. It allows you to eat the food choices that you prefer and will give you weight loss in return for hitting your calorie numbers well. So a very simple concept and quite effective.

Congrats on losing so well your first week. I look forward to reading about your future weight loss as well. Goal weight can't be too far off, and at this rate, you'll be buying new sizes shortly! Woo Hoo!

WOW, thanks everyone for the encouragement and good wishes!

I just completed my 2nd week, and I'm down a total of 8.6 pounds. Not quite a pound a day, but I'm very happy with it! I know it's going to slow down, and I'm trying to prepare myself for that. Hoping to be at 220 by the end of February....

Good Luck and Good Weigh-ins to all the JUDDD-BUDDDS!

Congrats to Arkie & Thomasina!!!
i have been doing the Kruse leptin reset since 10 nov. and the benefits have been amazing in that all my hunger and food cravings were gone in a day or so. but i didnt lose weight on it. so i wanted to try the JUDDD. the rules for Kruse leptin reset are too long to post here but you can find them at MY LEPTIN PRESCRIPTION - Jack Kruse

if you need more info on leptin and the reset read these:

leptin resistance, Dr. Jack Kruse, weight loss, Why is Oprah still obese? - Jack Kruse
THE LEPTIN RX...FAQ's - Jack Kruse

i am also doing all the supplements he recommends for people after hcg. especially repeated hcg treatment. Dietary Cornerstones Archive - Jack Kruse

but basically you have to do paleo eating: no snacking; no eating after dinner; at least 4 hrs between meals. then with 30 mins of awakening start breakfast. aka BAB (big ass breakfast). that would be 50 to 75 grms protein and few carbs. if you want to lose weight no more than 25 g carb per day. i was already eating paleo when i started the Kruse reset so i only had to change around the timing. so it was easy. i had to include all this stuff because i dont know how much you know about the Kruse reset.

here is the part you wanted: when i started JUDDD i continued the same eating style but i increased cals on the UD according to the JUDDD calculator. i still do it on the DD. in the DD morning i usually have about 300 cals mostly protein. usually 8 - 9 oz of chicken breast or buffalo jerky that i made. that is about 240 - 270 cals and 52 - 57 g protein and a veggie. then i have the other 100 cals later in the day about 3 or 4 pm. usually a couple of oz of meat. maybe another veggie. the one concession i made to JUDDD was allowing a little more carbs on the UD. not much more but some. Kruse says under 25 if you want to lose weight. up to 50 if you just want to reset. and i did go to 37 one day last week. still lost weight.

this week i am going to my granddaughters birthday party and i may have a little cake. but i dont care much about it. i will be bringing some strawberries cooked down with vanilla stevia and i may have that instead of strawberry shortcake birthday cake.

so i think you guys are on to something here.

Thank you Thomasina!
I am one who worries that Hcg could have caused me problems with my reset. I won't go into here, but can't wait until you have your minimum post count and I will message you.

I also worry that I can't get that amount of protein in at BAB and I wonder how important the 30 minutes on rising is??? I am going to start listening to Dr. Kruse at the office on podcast. Paleo is something I can do if it helps to ensure my Leptin Reset. Thanks again!

yes the 50+ g protein are important. and starting to eat within 30 mins. not finishing but starting. that is if you want to actually reset leptin pathways. paleo eating is good but just the beginning. i have to say it was not fun at first; eating that much for BAB. but i did it like medicine.

you wont be the first person who thinks hcg changed their metabolism too much in the wrong direction. it would be interesting to read the stuff Dr. kruse says about hcg. at least i found it interesting.

if you check out some of the yahoo groups like hcgdiet or weightlosswithHF (where we have ex hcg'ers trying to stabilize and some think hcg really messed them up) you will find lots of posts from me that you can use to send me an email. i am new here and dont know all the rules or i would post it for you.

Thomasina,
Great! I will find you and I remember that forum.

I believe, and this is just my personal theory, that if you are pre or peri-menopausal, it may not be advisable to do the Hcg protocol except for once and then I am not so certain that it is wise. Everyone that I have personally known on the protocol, who were in my same age group have had the same issue. I even did my first round supervised by an MD.

Thomasina, read all the articles mentioned in this post. Thank you! Tried to find the weightlosswithHF group, but couldn't pull it up with a google.

Does anyone know how to access? I'm an hcg user (2 failed attempts to stabalize on Round 2 and 3).
