UD & EFGT?

I tried to find the thread that I stumbled on about this, but have not had any luck. I would like to know if anyone is combining high fat on UD to assist in this mighty miracle of JUDDDing???

Also, how long should one wait on UD before breaking the fast? Till lunch? Or is there any reason that it doesn't matter if you dig in at breakfast?

TIA!!!

I don't know about EFGT, so I can't help you there.

Eat whenever you feel the need to eat. Some UDs I eat breakfast early, sometimes late, and sometimes not at all. You've already gone from your last food on your previous UD to this morning on very few calories, so your fast is probably already somewhere around 36 hours, give or take a few. I don't even worry about the number of hours.

Thank you Dawn! I will enjoy a breakfast today after my successful DD yesterday!!! :)

I lurrrve  lots of butter on UD and it has my mind wondering about this combo??? No matter, I aiming for a bit higher calories to see how high I can go! :sing:

Eat Fat Get Thin

It is a low-carb, high-fat regime for weight loss.

The ratios to aim for are 10-15% carbs, 20-25% prot, 60-70% fat. If you love butter, EVCO, EVOO, and bacon, this may be for you.

Here is the thread with all of the data.... :)

JUDDD doesn't care where your calories come from, so it works with any other eating plan. As long as you follow the calorie limitations, you should do just great!

I definitely add in fat to get to my UD calories some days. Yesterday, for instance, my husband had gone out for sushi for lunch, and brought me home some for dinner. It was lovely, but it was nowhere near the 800 calories I still needed. So I had a hard cooked egg with butter, and some cheese and mayo.

Although I'm not on EFGT, for sure though on UDs I eat as much good fats as I can squeeze in, because it tastes great and I find that it really helps with appetite suppression the following DD. I love my grassfed butter, ghee, pastured eggs, cheese, cream, avocados, bacon, coconut oil, fatty cuts of meat, etc!

I may be in the minority but I also eat a lot of fat even on DDs (bacon and sometimes eggs and also smaller portions of whatever high fat lowish carb food I've made or have on hand), as I find they really satisfy me the most. I do only have one meal at dinner on DDs though, so I don't find it too hard to squeeze them in.

Like Dawn said, JUDDD doesn't care when you eat. I'm not a breakfast person (usually) so I rarely nosh until late morning/early afternoon. However, if I am hungry in the morning, I eat in the morning.

I started lc with efgt, but found I needed about 30% carbs or I stalled. Most DDs and UDs I still eat leafy veggies, meat, and fat because, well if you offered me a choice between hwc and bread, the bread would get moldy. Once or twice a week something starchy or sweet catches my attention. I do some fast calorie re-allocating and enjoy the treat. :jumpjoy:

:hyst: I looked over the last month and fat is winning on UD for certain. I do keep carbs low and basically under 30. Today is going to be extra FAT and I will throw in a EFGT day once per week while JUDDDing and will report how it works for me! Thanks all!!!

I am having difficulty believing it doesn't matter if I up my carbs! I will try a high carb day once in a while too. ;)

Kissa 02-16-2012 02:26 PM

Lol, it is so scary eating carbs after years of avoiding them like the plague. I love that I can still eat heathy fat on JUDDD. You'll find no low calorie mayo in my home!

If you gain after the odd carby day it will only be water weight. So don't panic.

Are you still trying to lose Sunday?

I did UP Day EFGT for 2 weeks. My goal was to maintain my weight, but I steadily went down on the scale.

My down days were actually more free as I didn't attempt the ratios, but my UD were to achieve 65% or more fat. I ate sugar and starch on my up days but made sure I added fat to everything I ate, whether it be breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert. I used Ghee, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, meat drippings, MCT Oil, Cheese, kefir, cream, whatever fat seemed appropriate for the meal. If I had a slice of apple pie, I melted a table spoon of butter over it. If I sauteed veggies, I added fatty sausage and butter to the skillet. If I had Carb Smart Ice cream, I drizzled cocoa bark magic shell and ghee over it. If I wanted a crunchy snack I had Brausweigher and cream cheese on pork rinds. If I wanted a sweet treat, I'd make Cream Cheese Clouds.

I found it fairly easy to JUDDD with EFGT on Up Days. I lost a few pounds in those two weeks, and assured myself that Using JUDDD EFGT would be effective for maintenance between rounds for me.

Kissa~ Yes, I am trying to lose 30 lbs for now. My ideal weight will be known after I get to that point. I have been maintaining for the last year at the wrong weight!

Metqa~ So happy to hear this!!! :jumpjoy: I have a horrible time getting my cals in for UD, so adding butter to everything is working!!! I like EVCO, so I will be making some special cocoa.

DD I eat lean protein and lots of tea. Usually don't even have an appetite.

My good friend loves to eat butter with her peanut butter. At first, I thought it was weird, but the more I think about it, the sweet/salty creaminess of the butter would work well with a nut butter (or seed butter, as I use). That would be good on EFGT.

I don't do EFGT, but I have noticed good results eating good fatty food during my UDs. I have been making these avocado/bacon/tomato roll ups (rolled up in cheese) and they are goooooooood. I've lost a pound as of today (which would be a full week here).

:jumpjoy: on that pound gone, DD! :jumpjoy:

And I must make these roll-ups!!! I think that's on Saturday's menu!! Those are the only 4 ingredients, right?

gotsomeold 02-17-2012 06:45 AM

avocado/bacon/tomato roll ups sound wonderful! Congratulations on the weight loss!!!

I lurv, lurv, LURV peanut butter and butter! I mix it together in a little custard cup, and eat it with a spoon. Or mix it with a bit of Splenda and cocoa powder and freeze it in a fluted silicon baking cup (like a big Reese's cup wrapper) then peel and eat. On UDs I occasionally indulge in a toasted english muffin with PB and butter. Oh, yum!!

Thank you!!! This sounds amazing! I am making oopsie's in the morn and I think I will go pick up some avocado, so I can make these amazing delights!:jumpjoy:

i eat quite a lot of fat on UDs. and since i am combining the Kruse leptin reset with JUDDD i always have a large breakfast. about 8 oz meat. and some fat on UDs. none on the DDs. one of the first things i read at this site is that people often find it better to make the DDs 36 hrs instead of 24. so that means my UD yesterday ran from 4am to 4pm. no other food.

Hello Thomasina,
I am a bit confused, I learned from other JUDDD'ers here that the DD is considered fasting and you start at the last meal on UD which for me is 6:00 pm and the next UD meal after a full 24 hour DD can start at 8:00 am. Is this not correct? I really want to make sure that I am right.

Thank you.
