Kristin, what a wonderful NSV! This makes me so happy to hear, and I also want to quote that same phrase that Lou quoted above, because it is so very true for me as well.

Shrinking fingers, healthy choices, JUDDD control and living pain-free. Love these NSVs and all of you BUDDDs for sharing them with us!

Totally digging all the NSV's! Loose rings, quick healing, apples, and million dollar babes! Ya'll are

My non-scale victory: DH insisted on taking me shopping this weekend because all my pants were falling off and my belts don't fit either. I was amazed at the size the sales lady pulled off the shelf for me, and the pants slipped on easy - they're smaller than I've ever worn since I started menses at twelve. I never dreamed I'd ever be this size especially post menopausal DH kept eyeing me and said he didn't realize how much weight I'd lost, what a guy!!

Luv, that is SO fun! Love that you got to shop for a teenie size & Dh made you go. LOL! Gotta love that!

We are talking about GERD/reflux issues on another thread & Nancy asked me to share here. Now, I am only on week 3 of JUDDD, so keep that in mind.

I was dx with barrett's esophagus years ago. I HAVE. TO. HAVE my GERD meds every morning or I will be in pain within an hour or so of missing them.

Last week it was mid afternoon before I realized I had not taken my PPI. <THUD> Now, when I was close to goal on SB, I was able to reduce my meds, but never not take a morning dose. Needless to say, I'm very interested to see what's going to happen as I continue eating this way.

Me too. It's been stuck since I was pregnant with my 8yo. I have large knuckles, but my finger is skinnier as it gets closer to the palm. It was always difficult to take off even on my wedding day. It is getting closer, now.

So, many awesome NSVs around here!!

So many wonderful NSV's to read about today!!

Kristin, you made my heart feel good! What a good place to be!

Luv2eat, your shopping trip sounds wonderful! Your DH sounds like a winner, too!

Flutter, I'm finding reductions in some of my meds are necessary, too. Just don't reduce without working with you doctor. But, you must have felt so good to realize you hadn't taken your meds & didn't suffer because of it!!

I love this thread!

It's been a while since I've been here, lots and lots of new faces, and all celebrating their smaller sizes, shrinking fingers, healthier attitudes toward food. Isn't JUDDD fantastic?

I can add a couple to this list: Five weeks in South Africa pretty much eating whatever I like. We had DDs that were pretty much eating nothing or just a small snack before having a regular meal at dinner. UDs we were having whatever. I think I ate my weight in chips (AKA french fries, but muuuuch yummier). At the end of the trip, I had gained about three pounds. That's come off quickly and easily by tightening up the DDs a bit since we've been back.

Size 12 skinny jeans. Need I say more?

DH actually asked me to stop losing weight. I said I would.

I've been maintaining this weight for about five months now, if my memory serves, and pretty much effortlessly. I don't count UDs or DDs. Not recommended, I know, but it's working for me. I live a life of uncertainty, which often means I don't know what I'll be eating, so I just make the best choices I can (well, except for the chips) and it's working well for me.

I am so thankful for JUDDD and SoHappy, who first turned me on to it, and for all of you who have cheered me on, taught me much, and lifted me up when I needed it. JoyJoy, I'm joining you on the feeling like a million bucks couch. There's room for more here, anyone else?

Hi, Luna! Very new person here, but wanted to say thanks for sharing! The reason I wanted to try this was reading that people were doing so well in maintenance. I am so tired of losing & regaining the same pounds over and over. Hoping this is it! Huge hugs to you and huge KUDOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Library, LOL girl! Yes, we started at the same time! This is starting week 3, right?

Shari, oh trust me, there's NO WAY I'm d/c'ing my PPIs. I am too grateful to have them and have found some relief. (not to mention my barrett's has somehow reversed itself in the past decade...not supposed to be able to do that?) I love my PPI, but if I'm able to reduce the dosage eventually, that'd be pretty cool. I sure liked not being miserable immediately after forgetting to take the pill. (of course, this could be another problem...I might have to mark my calendar as I take it every day least I forget! LOL!)

Well, I've been complaining because through the month of November I haven't really lost much. I had a nice whoosh that went bye-bye after Thanksgiving and hasn't disappeared quite yet. But......

......today I fit into, and wore comfortably all day, the pair of jeans I've been trying to get into. You know, the ones WITHOUT the elastic waist, with a waistband, and pockets, and everything. Real jeans! So getting smaller while the scale stays the same...I can deal with that!

My latest NSV:

My husband is a food impulse-buyer and has a wonderful time before Christmas, triumphantly bringing home the kind of food I never even visit in a supermarket, let alone put in my trolley.

At the end of last November, weighing 136lbs, I returned from a holiday to find a huge pile of “Christmas food” occupying a corner of the kitchen. There were two stollen, two Christmas puddings, two Christmas cakes, packets of gingerbread, mince pies, custard, biscuits, chocolates .........

Now let's be very clear, I like Christmas cake – without the icing - and I'm partial to chocolate. However, there were only myself, DH and my elderly Father here at Christmas. Who was supposed to eat all this stuff?!?

Not being one to throw away food, guess whose teeth made their way steadily through the offending pile over the course of the next couple of months?!

I watched my weight slowly rise, as I'd grab some cheese and a mince pie or slice of cake rather than make the soup or salad I'd intended. (The kitchen's unheated during the day and very cold, so food prep has little appeal if there's instant stuff around.) Annoyingly, DH who'd bought the “goodies” in the first place, offered to eat very little of it.

By spring, I weighed 145lbs and decided I'd better do something about it. So, I tried a low carb diet. When my weight hit 150lbs in August, I was worried. Fortunately I found JUDDD at the end of August and am very grateful and relieved to report that I'm back down around 136lbs again.

“OK, so what are these numbers doing in a non-scale victories thread???” I hear you asking.

Well, DH just pointed out that, because of my diet, there's no Christmas food creeping into the kitchen and he isn't going to buy much this year.

Now I call that a result!!

It is so common around here for the inches to go first, and then the pounds! So I agree, your next whoosh is coming.

I never realized until today when I checked what my new blood pressure readings mean online that until today I've had "pre-hypertension" blood pressure readings every dr.visit since 2008. My doctor never said anything ... but high blood pressure runs in the family.

Today? 108/70 (low normal) Thanks JUDDD!

Excellent!! It is such a joy to see those numbers normalize!! woo hoo!

Flossyliz - love the story of your story about your hubbie. That used to be me! We have a store called World Market and they get international delights around the holidays. Last year, I went in with the intent of buying "gifts" for my friends. I have a friend who grew up in London and I like to make up a basket of her favorite treats from home. I filled my cart with cookies and chocolates and jams and candies and other treats under the guise that these were gifts. They ended up being gifts of blubber to my thighs, stomach, arms, backside, etc. So I relate!!
I am happy you won't have to eat the treats this year!

Its been an interesting week.

I never considered alternate day fasting before because I JUST LIKE TO EAT too much! When I found LC I thought that would be the ultimate answer. On LC I could eat as much as I wanted, within reason of course, as long as it was not carby. No bread, potatoes, cookies, candy, you know the drill.

I would do fine for awhile, then backslip a little, but in the last two years I have always at least maintained. I have to. If I don't my blood sugar, blood pressure, and all that fun stuff will go out of control. It had to become a health issue for me before I took weight loss seriously.

Over the past weeks I've been stressed over just not getting the scale to budge. Sticking to LC foods got more difficult and I knew there had to be something different to try.

What is that saying? When the student is ready the teacher will appear...or something like that. Well, thats what happened for me. I had seen the letters JUDDD here on the boards and even checked it out a little, but when I saw it was about FASTING I thought NO WAY.

Finally, I decided why not give it a chance. Especially since so many of you just ADORE it! I thought it can't be all that bad. There is so much information here, the health benefits are very impressive, and it really is doable. <<that word looks funny haha.

This past week I have dropped 3.8 lbs, ate some non LC foods, just a little though, but enjoyed the popcorn or potato tremendously, been in a much better mood, and just know I have found "The Way" for me.

Thanks to all of you for your great tips and info, encouragement and support. It keeps me coming back here and stickin' with the program!

This is such a moving thread! I come here when I need to get re-invigorated and always go away happy and inspired.

I just realized this is probably an NSV.

All through this journey I have tried to learn from how my body responds to different foods and different situations. I guess, for the first time in a long life, JUDDD and this forum taught me to treat my body not as a handy vessel I happen to sail around in, but as a very complicated tool with which I am intimately and eternally bound...and for which I am completely and solely responsible.

So, I had out-patient surgery two weeks ago. As I started returning to earth from the anesthesia, the nurse began giving me post-op instructions...lots of post-op instructions.

I asked questions, made comments to DH about what particular instructions meant and how my body was going to react to this-and-that. Based on the nurse said I guessed what some of the instructions were going to be.

Suddenly, she stopped moving and just stared at me. In a long time, about a minute, she said, "OMG, I wish the rest of my patients were half as aware of themselves as you are. I always worry about their understanding and how they are going to heal. You, I am not worried about." And she wiped her eyes and stomped out of the room.

I everyone here. I this WOL.

I did not "lose" weight. I evicted it. It is gone and it ain't coming back!

JUDDD cares about calories. JUDDD does not care what you eat. Your body probably does.
