Thanks everybody. My sister is a gem and my best friend (though many people call her that). She has a huge world of people that she touches with her time and talents. I do so wish good health for her and hope she will find a way that works for her. My little apartment has clothes everywhere. Besides the new stuff, there is today's laundry plus the pile I pulled out of my closet because I can now afford to let go of the too big stuff. I have a hanger rule. I don't allow more clothes than fit on my hangers. Something comes in, something else must go out. Everything I own fits in one standard size sliding door closet. No drawers or other storage space allotted. That is why the current mess. If it is too big, out it goes. I do have some newer summer items that are a bit snug yet, so anticipate making it a whole year before having to buy anything. Have to sort through it all and make decisions. Life is good.

That sound like a great way to manage your clothes Cici.
My lovely DD, MintQ8, does a great thing. When she sorts her closet she places all the hangers 'wrong way round'. If she uses an item the hanger it is on is replaced the 'correct' way round. As the weeks go by she knows which garments she uses and which she doesn't. Neat? |

Always something new to learn here. Thanks for passing on the idea, Kissa. I have been trolling this forum on and off all day. Just keep finding more and more stuff to read. The love is a little addicting. Must get back to the tasks of life.

I told my DW and she agreed- It is an awesome idea! Our apartment does not have enough closet space to waste with stuff you don't wear/ doesn't fit!

I buy more hangers... I bought the slim ones covered in velour, and I totally pack in about 2x as much as before, but it's not wrinkly.DH has that one-in-one-out rule. But he's not the boss of me! ![]() |

I have those hangers too. Aren't they great. Got all the clothes put away and must confess to having a few (six) outfits doublehung and ready to wear on the old type. It is nice to have some thing easy to grab and go in a hurry.

I do the forward/backward hanger thing. And I have thingies that divide my drawers into separated rows. Once in awhile I put all my t-shirts into one row. When I wear a t-shirt, it is washed and placed in another row. Every six months (when seasons change) I can easily donate all of the clothes I have not worn. (The cool part is ALL my old, large clothing is gone. These days, I get to go buy-buy!) (From thrift stores and end of season sales, of course.)
I killed a few minutes counting in DH's closet. He has 97 short sleeved shirts I stopped counting at that point....but understand why I don't get half of the closet ![]()

I really shouldn't comment on closet stuff... but I will
![]() We re-did the closet in the bedroom the other year, with the Pax ones from ikea... we did 2 big modules plus 1 skinny module. ALL MINE!!! bwahahahaha also a chest of drawers and an armoire in the master bedroom ![]() DH now gets the entire closet in the guest room, plus an armoire in there also. No complaints on either side (well, unless he SEES what's in my closet, then he gets a bit flustered). |

I'm catching up and feel overwhelmed with joy at the NSVs. What a fabulous, beautiful gift JUDDD is! (ad all of you are in my life, too!).
I've been dickering about maintenance for ages. I haven't really lost anything, but my body is still changing, especially with Callanetics. I've been a bit tough on myself this week (I think it's the emotional downer that goes with insomnia), but wouldn't you know, this has been a week of four or five people telling me how great I look, and asking what I'm doing! It always goes, "You so look great, have you lost weight? You've really lost weight. You look so good! Are you doing something? What are you doing?" I'm choosing to believe them, especially because (also this week) I've been feeling old, which is a weird and new sensation and I know I need to process the feeling and then kick it in the a&*. |

Great NSVs everyone....
![]() I took a couple of hours to clean out my closet yesterday...getting ready for Winter and my trip to the warmer temps in TX. Out went 5 large bags of clothes that do not fit....Yippeee... and I was left with a few clothes to wear on vacation and a much thinner Winter closet. My DD works for a MAJOR department store so will be shopping with her discount while there for some nice work pants and a few tops to get me through the next few months...and I think I will be leaving my Summer clothes in TX! I also went out to lunch yesterday...it was an UD...ordered a club sandwich and fries....ate 1/2 the sandwich...and about a 1/3 of the fries...this definitely was a triumph of the appetite for me! ![]()

I know that sensation of feeling old, but then I AM! You are very wise knowing you just need to process the feeling and then shove it on its way. Good going!Linda- five bags? Holy smoke that is awesome! And that UD control of food still hasn't come my way, but I am so happy for you--especially with french fry control! Enjoy shopping for new smaller sized clothes!! Great NSV's everyone! ![]()

Jacci isn't it the most fun, closet shopping? And you are seeing the JUDDD reshaping with your own eyes. |
