This week's NSV: I used to eat to ground myself, to slow everything down. (I used to eat for a million reasons, but that was a big one.)

This morning I got locked out of my house for an hour after walking the dog.
Found a way in. Hoping there are no clever burglars in our neighborhood 'cause it wasn't that hard.

Today I'm making a roast, sweet potato biscuits, and who knows what else for my daughter and her boyfriend (who are visiting for long enough to have been given a house key). I won't be eating this dinner because I'm at an evening rehearsal and because those biscuits would still result in me burying my head in a 20lb bag of sugar over the next day or two.

My lovely man just called to say that our offer on a massively interesting but massively dilapidated house is going through and we may be moving in three weeks.

And I'm buying a tape measure today in order to tell an inevitably skinny wardrobe woman the exact circumference of my thighs.

Any one of these would have resulted in some seriously self-destructive eating before Juddd.
Today I just feel happy.

Man-o-man-o-man, I love JUDDD.

Sometimes, I'm so grateful that I don't know how to express it even here.

Woot Woot Joy Joy!!!! That is so awesome--and you are right, this phenomenon is just beyond words! It's like a peace that overcomes us and we feel happy, like all is right in the world. I have been happy beyond words for other things that have occurred in my life or situations I have found myself in...but rarely does the inner serenity follow.

Well Done Kristin!

I know what you mean-- it took a LONG time for me to admit I was an emotional eater (weird, but whatever) AND that some of the emotions were good ones... basically, eating to stay neutral.

Through therapy, and the help of JUDDD too, I've learned that:

1) I am bigger than my emotions.
and
2) I can tolerate the upd and the downs.

to everyone! I did have a day yesterday where I just felt HAPPY all day! And it was a down day too!

I went to DMV last week to register my car, and I think the guy was flirting with me. I'm pretty shy, and admittedly obtuse with such things, but he was asking about my plans for the day, and was very friendly. We ALL know people are NOT friendly at the DMV. He asked if my husband was working (during the day on a weekday), and I don't wear a ring since mine falls off, so I think he was trying to find out if I was married!

I convinced myself that was all in my head. But just now, our regular mailman came in to drop off mail at work, and he commented on how great I'm looking. He winked

!

Um, uh, okay. Still could all be in my head, but I'll take it!

JUDDD is starting to get expensive. My almost new underwear is too big in the legs. I am going to have to face the fact that I need the next size down.

Good news though. I found four bras in a smaller size that I had somehow accidently bought a couple of years ago so I have brand new ones that fit. New undies will be bought on my way home this evening.

I just realized that yesterday marked my 6 month anniversary of JUDDDing! WOW!

I have lost 20lbs and feel so much better about my body, food, eating, exercising, on and on.

Because I always like to have goals, I am setting my 1 year anniversary goal to be two sizes smaller. I don't like setting weight goals because I am working out a lot and gaining muscle which can skew things, but, as I've heard a million times on this board, pants don't lie! So, size 10, I will see you in six months (or less

)!

Thanks to everyone on this board for supporting me on this WOE. Your enthusiasm is contagious!

My NSV today is that hubby came up to me this morning after watching me get dressed(not the prettiest of sights!) and put his arm around me and said.......you need to buy some clothes that fit you dont you!!

Yay!! I do love my hubby but at the end of the day he is a man so for him to notice my clothes are baggy is a major coup!! I said that I would wait till Ive lost another 7lbs and then will go shopping....he has also said, wait for it, I can go shopping with his money!!! Double yay!!

While I was having lunch yesterday with some friends, I realized that my greatest NSV will be how great food tastes since starting this woe. I thought I was a foodie who enjoyed food before, but every bite now tastes like manna, both on up and down days...today, I just had a Dukan pancake (egg whites and oat bran) and was telling my dogs how delicious it was. Have you noticed how great food tastes now?

Okay, this is not so much a victory, but a gift.

Sis cleaned out her closet as she has been gaining weight. She has always been blessed to be able to buy exactly what she wants regardless of pricetag and has lovely quality clothing. Guess who was the recipient of a whole pile of scrumptious clothing, some never worn? It may be too big for me by the end of the season, but for now I have some beautiful transition pieces - at no cost.

Right now she says JUDDD would not fit into her life, but I am hoping as I make more progress she will see the possibilities. Then she can come shopping in my closet.

Wonderful NSV! No, I haven't noticed that change in me. A dukan pancake is just never going to taste great to me! I am very happy for you!! Maybe someday I will like okra...
