exercise question

Do you exercise on DD? do you count calories burned and compensate for it? If you burn 200. Cal do you then eat 700. Cal or just say yay I burned more

I think you'll get varied opinions on this.

I do exercise on DDs, but my exercise is low-key; walking, maybe some yoga or Pilates. If I was doing the big hefty 60-minute elliptical sessions I used to do, I wouldn't do them on a DD just due to energy issues. I'd collapse, I fear.

I don't eat my exercise calories. Some do. I think it's probably a YMMV thing. Just remember that there is a strong strong tendency to overestimate calories (those machines at the gym are vastly overinflated on their calorie burn!) so if you're going to eat exercise calories, be very conservative in your estimates.

I do some pretty hard core exercise on DDs, kickboxing, cardio Dvds, and I don't est the cals back. I like being negative in ************. I weightlift on UDs and do cardio on DDs.

U will have to experiment ur self and see.
Myself when starting JUddd few weeks ago.
I thought I could do normal exercising. Not....... True.
So I started to eat more on dd/ less food days. Now still working on being closer to the mark.
I have started jogging since I upped my calories.
I'm going to run on my dd but early, that way I'm still not needing food yet!
I've had way over on my dd says due to trying to help my energy.
Tmw Monday is going to be a real dd, 700 calories. I hope o walk up nd down my stairs her at home for exercise.
So I'd like to ask if would be my JUddd bud?
My second chance to do this right. My energy is better.
Me doing my exercise on a dd afternoon doesn't work for me. Wish but doesn't.
I have no excuse now, ive figured it out...So whatch think??

I do like shelly......weight lifting/workouts on UDs and regular cardio on DDs and I do not adjust my calories.

In the book Dr J said if you really, truly know how many calories you burned in exercise, you could add them in.

I think some of us tried and found it did not work...they stalled. I believe that does work for others. As Ei said, I suggest you carefully (don't waste yourself on low calories) try it a couple of different ways to see what works best for you.

The calculator that you use to determine your calories takes how much you exercise into account. If you really wanted to add calories burned you would need to calculate your calories based on zero exercise first.

I think it would be very difficult to determine calories burned during exercise. I've read that most machines (treadmill, elipt., bikes, etc.) overestimate. LOL And your intensity will vary. I can do a walking video one day doing everything as easily as possible while still going through the motions and do the same video the next day burning more calories because I did the lunges deeper, the knee lifts higher, etc. Just seems best to let the calorie calculator come up with an average considering how many days you work out.

As an example, today I took my daughter ice skating. It's a DD and I wear a heart rate monitor when I exercise. I burned 563 calories and will end up consuming under 400 calories. I, like Shelly, like to be in the negative calories. I feel fine exercising on DDs and I believe there are several of us who do (though I'm pretty sporadic in my exercise, and don't do it every day). I suggest you experiment and see what works for you. I don't think too many of us eat back our calories though. For me, it's a matter of "I put in the work and want to see the results" more than "I put in the work and deserve extra food as a reward." That's what got me overweight in the first place.

I have so much more energy on DD's that I take full advantage of that and work out! But no, I don't eat more to off-set. I do make sure I get plenty of protein on DD's.

I do light excercise every day, and consensus seems to be always set calories at sedentary or light, don't eat more because you exercised. Seems to be working for me!
