I am so lucky not to have any food allergies.

I am sorry that you got caught out yesterday. My lovely BIL is fairly newly diagnosed as gluten intolerant and it is a nightmare trying to avoid just that one thing.

I had a second UD in a row yesterday, not a bad one but the offer of dinner out was too tempting.

Happily the scales didn't seem bothered as I was at a comfortable 124 this morning. Thank you JUDDD magic.

Just out of curiosity, I measured my middle when I got out of the shower, and I've regained 1/2" on both my waist and abdomen! So it wasn't just my imagination that the muffin top has returned.

Not sure why or what to do, if anything. But I am sure not liking looking down and seeing that roll again.

Nasty. I don't like reading that, and I am certain you didn't like finding it.

I guess the answer is to be patient and see if your latest adjustments improve the situation. You can be sure that is didn't happen overnight, unless it is simply 'bloat'.

Good morning JUDDD buds!
I decided to 'clean up' my diet for 2 weeks. I was kinda getting carried away with the sweets and junk food. I was still maintaining. Never weighing more than 130 after a DD. So it wasn't really about the weight. Just wanting to really nurious my body. So I've been eating lots of fruits and veggies, oatmeal, Greek yogurt, fish etc. No sweets. But those big juicy strawberries sure are sweet! I'm finding that it really is hard to eat so many calories from whole foods(very filling!), I have been tracking becauce I want to make sure I get enough! I feel like I'm giving my body such a gift! I am planning to have my sweets and breads and some convince foods again but I think I'll do a 'clean eat' every now and then.
And with the JUDDD magic I have a lower weight. 127 after a UD! That's only 4 days of my 2 week plan.

Yay for the lower weight!

I went over 1700 cals on yesterday's UD, and stayed exactly the same on the scale. No bounce! Yay. Trying for a good 600-700 cal dd today and maybe I'll get back to 125.

I'm starving today though. Had food co-op pickup this morning, and one of the ladies brought in gluten free pumpkin bread her dd had made, so I had a small piece of it (about 4 bites). And it set off my appetite big time. I WILL hold out till lunch though. Just an hour to go.

WTG on the new low weight, JB!

And I get what you're saying about how much whole food it takes to reach your calorie allotment! I changed my diet about 3 weeks ago for my health, and it's caused me to drop some weight and stay at the low end of my maintenance range.

I wasn't eating differently for weight though, but for some health issues, and the great thing is - it's working! My tummy troubles are much less, my gallbladder (if that's what's the problem) is acting up much less and I have fewer mornings where I wake up sick. My skin is clearing up and my moods are even better.

Anyway, back to what you were saying... you can eat so much more this way, stay fuller, get in more nutrition, and STILL be seriously lacking on those calories, lol. I've had to resort to guacamole to dip my veggies in, handfuls of nuts, spoons of peanut butter, etc. to get my calories in eating this way.

Oh, trust me, I did.

Poached chicken and a big salad just now, and raspberries and yoghurt shortly. And a little dark chocolate.

Looking over my records, I see that I've been at this lower end of my maintenance range steadily now for over 2 weeks, and so that likely means it's sticking and not just a fluke.

Where a month ago, 137 and 138# were my most common weights day to day, with occasional drops to 136# and occasional bounces up to 139/140#...

Now I seem to stick with 135 and 136# as my common weights, with the occasional drop to 134# and occasional bounce to 137#. I appear to have very little bouncing now since adopting this new-to-me anti-inflammatory woe with all the veggies, fruits, fish, etc. (not that I am a health-food-crazed person by any means, I just do my best with it as often as I can).

I still find it hard to believe about my weight. I couldn't have accomplished this weight if I wanted to, not without extreme, unsustainable effort, or issue with health/medication, etc. But now I do it naturally with eating so much? Leave it to JUDDD/IF to know what's best for us, I guess, lol!

And this weight is definitely not a bad thing now that I've adjusted to the idea of it. I mean, I am not eating starvation calories. I'm eating high DDs (800 - 1000 cal.) and though it's a challenge to get those UDs high with the types of foods I've been eating, I am doing it. Also, I don't seem to be too thin like I feared I would. In fact, I've received a few complements from people who would have told me outright if I was too thin. It's only on the 134# days that I've felt like I'm "teetering in the wind" a bit, lol.

So, I think I will be happy at this new lower range. I won't try to gain and of course, I won't try to lose. I feel good, enjoy how I'm eating, and I am happy.

Sophie-I'm glad you are feeling better and found a comfortable spot weightwise.
I can't believe the number I'm seeing on the scale either. I don't want to get too low but it seems like no matter how low I get I still have this little belly. I exercise hard every day. I'm eating whole foods right now. Nothing. So as I'm excited for the low weight, I'd take a little higher weight if it meant no more belly!! Maybe someday...

Sophie-I was wondering if you eat Greek yogurt? I made a dip that had avocado, Greek yogurt and a few other things. Great for dipping veggies!

Sophie, I am so glad to read the diet changes are helping you feel better. And going to the lower end of your maintenance range is just icing on the cake.

I def understand how hard it can be to get those UD cals in when you are eating "clean, whole foods".

My day turned out well. Sitting at 682 cals, and debating whether I want a small snack (a couple of apples slices and a bit of pb smeared on them).

Kissa, no need for guilt. You know a dd will take care of it.

Sophie, I'm happy for you with the improvement in your health. That's awesome!

I've been within 2/10ths of a pound for the last 4 days, so I'm thinking my numbers are working for maintenance. I almost want to push the limits but I'll hold tight for a while. Although, the guys at work are barbecuing a tri-tip today and it's a DD. I plan on having some within my calories, but I'm not stressed at all if I go a little bit over. Maintenance is fun!

WTG Dawn! Looks like you've found the numbers that work for you. Probably a good idea to stick with them at least a week, maybe 2 before pushing them.

So I finally got rid of those 2 pesky pound and most of the 1/2 inch gained on both waist and abdomen. Took 6 days. But confirmed my theory that I need more cals on UD's to maintain. The 2 UD's I've had in that time were close to 1700 (1672, 1712), while my DD's were 700-750 (rather than 800-900). So, I'll keep those numbers going for a while and see how it goes.

So I'm having a little bit of scale creep. I'm up three pounds in three days. I've been over by a few hundred calories the past couple of days, (DD that turned into a MD, too many calories on UD but not an UUAD) but not enough to add three pounds. It's got to be water, right?

Drinking a lot today to see if that helps. I started resveratrol today, looking for the appetite suppression that people are reporting. I don't get the good appetite suppression that lots of people report on JUDDD. And some DDs (like last Wednesday) I'm starving! So I'm hoping.

I'm not going to drop my calories on DDs yet, sticking at 700. Because I started the resveratrol, I only want to change one thing at a time. If this scale creep continues I'll drop DD calories until it comes back off.

But seriously, there's no way this can be gain, right? It's got to be water. Either that or I can gain a pound by eating about 250 calories. Not possible.

Sophie, so glad to hear you're feeling better and have started hovering at an even lower weight in your range. Gives me so much hope!

Dawn, glad to hear you're enjoying maintenance!

Tina, I hear you on the raging hunger thing. Hoping you get it managed and have a great DD.

It's water. It has to be. Have you tried Yam-Yam's water with lemon juice? Might be a great experiment!

I did see that thread. Because I just started the resveratrol, I want to leave everything else alone until I see how I respond to that. So far, so good. Not hungry and it's getting into my hungry time of the day. I am really hopeful that this is the magic bullet to help keep DDs under control. They've been a struggle for me since day 1. If this keeps appetite under control the way it's seeming to, I may decide to go back into wlm and get the last of these pounds off.

But I'm getting waaaaay ahead of myself. As usual.

Sorry I have not been here since Monday, been sick! Now feeling better. I did not count anything the past few days! Tomorrow will be a DD so Mother's Day can be a UD!

I did get to watch Dr. Oz a bit today, was about losing weight without dieting! Some Green Mung Bean soup was one thing, is suppose to help with digestion, it maybe what I need!?!

Have a great weekend all you Mom's!

Normal expected 1 pound bounce after yesterday's UD (over 1700 cals, including the most carbs I've recorded since starting--153).

Enjoying my dd. About to have a dinner of baked chicken and stir fry veggies. YUM!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms here (even if your dc are furred and 4-legged).

I didn't plan my UD very well yesterday. Took my Mom to see my grandparents and didn't eat much for hours. By the time we got home I just ate as much as I could!! The scale says 129 this morning. It was 125 yesterday! I even changed my stats. I'm not worried though. I'm still in a lower range than I was a week ago.

Have a wonderful day!

I've been feeling nauseous in the mornings for a couple of weeks...can't quite figure out what's going on with me (and no, I'm definitely not pregnant at 65!). Is this the SIRT1 gene thing going on or is it something bad? I've not eaten much...either a flax meal muffin and coffee with cream if it's an UD or just the coffee with cream if it's a DD. I take meds (migraine prevention) and supplements in the morning only if I have the muffin. I take this stuff (meds and supplements) with lunch on days when I only have coffee. Later in the day when I have lunch and dinner, I typically just l normal again. Anybody identify with this?

ETA...no, I'm not asking for medical advice here, but rather wanting to know if this is what the SIRT1 gene feels like to others.

Hi ladies,

I'm jumping into the maintenance lane for the rest of May, if there's room for one more. Actually, this has helped me (in the five minutes since I made the decision) be more honest. I looked up my maintenance numbers and I've really been eating to them this month. Not many WLM DDs in there. I'm refocusing, but I don't want to feel like I'm punishing myself, so I think a two week "rest" makes sense. I have a traumatic history with using food, and having finally broken free of it, I'm wary of triggering any of the old messages.

I love that JUDDD gives us room to stop, regroup, rethink, and ourselves.

Back down to 126 this morning. Yesterday was a hard DD for me. I've only had 2 or 3 really hard ones since I started JUDDD. I went up to 420 cal. Which is the highest I've ever gone on a DD. I think I let myself get too hungry on Saturday and that carried into yesterday. I'm going to have a really good UD today!

Alcestis, I totally agree. I was starting to make myself crazy with numbers and the pounds not coming off the way I think they "should." This has been a wonderful break and I'm starting to feel much calmer about the whole weight loss thing. I think it really is true that you have to take a break once in a while, and it's much better to do so in maintenance than going completely off the rails.

On another note, I dropped overnight. I got too dehydrated yesterday and sunburned, so I suspect it's not a "real" drop, but it sure would be nice if I lost a bit while "maintaining."
