Hoping I'll be joining in the next week or two. Easter put me up a full 4 pounds then Monday I dropped 3. Normally my first UD after a big UD is still a drop but I had leftover Easter dessert after dinner. It fit my calories as best I could tell but it was sugar heavy so that means even more water retention before the last was all gone. So it'll be the weekend at least before I get back to where I was. Oh well, Easter only comes once a year, right? LOL

Can I join you girls? I've been maintaining a while now. I keep my DDs to 350 cal or less and have FDs. I just told myself that if I wake up on a UD and the scale is 130 or higher then I'll count calories until it's down. Haven't had that happen yet. I'm usually 127-128 after a DD and 130-131 after UDs. Someday I may decide to lose a little more but I need to wear the clothes I just bought for a little while although my size 8 pants are saggy in the back! Doesn't look too cute.

That is great Marie! I think you've posted it, but what are you doing to stay at goal?

I'll likely be mixing things up a bit in maintenance too. But will fall back on Juddd for sure if things need reigning in.

This thread could be very beneficial to me. Wish everyone on maintenance would post often how things are going. I would love the same encouraging words just as much maintaining as during WLM!

Marie I was around, even if not posting, at the end of your WL journey into maintainence and would love you staying around.

I want to know about any struggles as well as successes during maintenance!

Tina, Let me know what you are up to when you "shake things up" any!!!

I am still nervous just having raised my UD & DD cals a bit. I knew it would be an adjustment.

The maintainers need to stick together.

I'm not doing real JUDDD right now either, but I can't stay away from the forum, lol. They seem to let me hang around anyway.

Thanks Tina, for bringing this thread up from the murky depths, lol.

To stay at goal I am walking 4 plus miles daily(rarely miss), and watching my calories. I stay between 1600-1800. I still struggle with sugar. I find I can not get away with much at all, but, I keep trying, lol. The March trip I spoke of earlier in the thread got pushed back to this weekend, and I am a little nervous about watching my diet and missing my exercise, but, I am going to do my best. Every day is an effort that is for sure. Honestly, I have to wonder if I would be THIS diligent if I did not have my tummy tuck/breast lift in November. I love the results. It is great motivation to keep the weight off. After my surgery I was about 145-146 and I have gone on to lose more. I update my stats daily to the left so you can always see where I am at.

ALL are welcome on the thread. Phyl, you are right, the maintainers need to stick together.

Well, I go back and forth from JUDDD to other IF. Sometimes while on JUDDD, I will combine it with other IF, such as my Fast5, or at least not eat until noon or later (just how my appetite usually runs).

When not on JUDDD, I do my own version of Pirate Jenny's MUDDD, where I start out on a "dd/FD" and can eat all my DD calories if I want, or not eat them all, but by 5 p.m. that same day, I switch over to FD eating. This FD goes on the entire next day, and then the cycle repeats.

Another thing I do, is my own version of Fast 5. It's basically the same as my dd/FD on MUDDD, but I may repeat this for one or more days, however long I want or need. That's where again, I can eat all my DD calories during the day if I want, and then by 5 p.m. I can have a FD meal or full FD eating all evening long. Sometimes I repeat this for days and days in a row. Or I go back to JUDDD or MUDDD. But really, this "Fast 5-ish" thing I do tends to work out marvelously for me a lot of the time. I've done it for a week now, due to GI probs that pretty much left me with not much appetite during the day and then in the evening I'd start to feel better and want to eat.

That's the gist of it. I just mix things up how I want or need. Now and then I go back to real JUDDD DDs.

I love the way I do maintenance because it's so flexible for me, it works well around my appetite and what's going on. It doesn't get in the way of my life, and is very easy to change things up when plans change or things come up.

Happily maintaining at between 2 and 5 lbs under goal. I still do my regular rotations with occasional variables to allow for 'life'.

I aim for between 400 and 700 on my DDs and enjoy 'almost' free UDs.

Life is good. I enjoy foods I had thought were lost to me forever.

Hey maintainers, The thread I read earlier with a question about maintenance threw me. If we are supposed to go by Dr. J's calculator then I am starting out all wrong. I was going by what others close in weight and height have said they are doing. Like those of you who may eat 600 on DD's and then have a FD, how many cals does that consist of ? If I follow the calculator, I need to lower my UD cals about 400 calories! Eeek!!! Did all of you start lower and just gradually add more, testing the waters?

BTW I havent done any FD's and have only been maintaining for 3 days now. I have myself confused now after talking about how simple this WOE is!! Is maintenance a trial & error thing? I thought I had this, BUT now I'm not so sure! Beeb, Tina, Sophie, Kissa everyone....TALK TO ME!!

Phyl

I eat between 500 and 700 most DDs and around 2000 most UDs.

This is way above the calculator!

Phyl, I think most who have been in maintenance awhile are eating way above the calculator, because of JUDDD's healing effect on metabolism. With lower UD cals, they continued to lose, so just kept pushing them higher to get the weight loss to stop. You can raise DD cals, or UD or both.

Just like Kissa is having to do right now.

For me, I'm still around 1600 on UD's because I haven't been maintaining very long. And I wanted my DD calories higher first. So I'm doing 800 cal dd, with1600 cal UD. Ultimately, I'd like that 1000 cal spread, so I'll be working to push the UD cals once I'm sure I'm stable at the lower level.

If you are stable at the numbers you are using, stick with them! No need to lower UD cals if you are doing what you want to do. If you find weight creeping back on, well, then you can rethink things. If you start to lose again, push it higher. You want your metabolism to burn as hot as you can get it to, so that as you age and it wants to slow down, you are working to not let it.

Make sense?

Yes, I'm just JUDDD'ing for maintenance, not weight loss. There are so many other health benefits from JUDDD besides weight loss. It's a woe that goes on for life. It isn't that you get to goal weight, and then go back to eating whatever you want everyday. That would just put me back where I started.

So the calorie cycling continues, you just have more leeway with how many calories you can eat.

So I have a dr appointment coming up on the 23rd. I think it would be great to lose a few more lbs by then. I've been maintaining right around 130 with extremely free UDs. So I'm going to keep my UD calories about 2000 until then and see where I get. I'll let you know how it goes!

So far, so good! Yesterday was an UD and I ate about 2200 cal. This morning I weigh 127. That's the lowest I've been after an UD.

After a very foodie weekend I was up to 125.6 yesterday but one good DD saw me back to 123.4 this morning. So easy.

How about a maintainer's check in? How's everybody doing?

I'm pretty much maintaining now. I bounce between 125-127. Would like that to be 123-125, but I'm just going to see if it gets there on it's own.

I've been getting lax on allowing more grains and sugar again, and my tummy has been rebelling. So I'm going to work on tightening up on my paleo plan again. Seems I need to do this every 3-4 mos or so. At least my sweet consumption has been coconut sugar and stevia, so I'm not seeing the blood sugar spikes like with sugar or honey.

I wish I could figure out how to lose more from my waistline. Even at my current weight, if you go just by waist measurement, I still show up right on the line between overweight and not (31.5" was the cutoff I saw online for that, and I'm at 30.5"). I want that measurement to be in the 20's but it just won't budge! Any ideas for how to lose more belly fat?

Tina-I'm having the same issue! I can't get rid of the belly fat either. Today I noticed that my size 8 pants can slide on and off without unbuttoning them. So I am getting smaller there. But the belly wants to be the last thing to go! It doesn't help how flat chested I am. If my 'girls' were bigger then I don't think it would be as noticable.
I'm still maintaining between 127-130. Which is fine but I wouldn't mind if that went a little lower some day.

Hi fellow happy JUDDD BUDD maintainers! I'm doing good. Have lost 1/2lb. since starting maintenance. Haven't checked lately, as I mostly go by my clothes. I weigh about once a month. I have so enjoyed myself. Have now also seen another goal come to pass that I will put in the non-scale victories thread!! I always want to hear from all my wonderful maintaining Budds and keep up with how you are doing and from every Budd for that matter. I you all!
