Question?

How do you figure out exactly what you have lost in one week?

Thank you, Hugs, Arlene

WOE: Whatever plan keeps me around 150 lbs!
You can subtract today's weight from last Thursday's weight.

If you'd rather have an average, add together the last 7 weights, then divide the total by 7.

You choose a day and time, stick a pin in it and call it 'my weight'. Subtract that from the previous week's 'my weight'.

All other weigh-ins are informational only. Some people feel better if they don't watch the scale bouncing during the week so they only weigh weekly. Others (like me) like to see how their bods react to various foods.

I keep a 6-day rolling average on the spreadsheet I use. I started with 7 day, but it was too wobbly, what with one 7 days having 3 up days, and the next having 4 up days.....so 6 days works better. It looks like this:

(of course, it looks BETTER than this, because the formatting gets wonky when I cut n' paste). The "average" is the average of the current day, plus the five previous days.

date - - -weight - - - day - - - avg

1-Feb - - -235.8 - - down - - -234.3
2-Feb - - -232.8 - - up - - - - -234.3
3-Feb - - -233.2 - - down - - -234.1
4-Feb - - -232.8 - - up - - - - -234.2
5-Feb - - -232.0 - - down - - -233.6
6-Feb - - -230.4 - - up - - - - -232.8
7-Feb - - -232.8 - - down - - -232.3
8-Feb - - -230.2 - - up - - - - -231.9
9-Feb - - -232.0 - - down - - -231.7

I don't worry about what I've lost in a week - I take any new low and hold it! Then I look at what I've lost overall.

I do the same thing! Even if it bounces up a bit, it always goes back down.

This is exactly what I do. It really helps. I also have an average weight at the end of each 7 days, and an average of cals consumed for the week

Yeah, I like the rolling average, because it smoothes out all the bumps and you can see a steady progression. It helps me on those days when I had hoped the scale would show me a lower number. I have been waiting to see a 229 for a week now! Didn't get it today, either. Although my average weight keeps going down. Today its 231.3. Soon!!!!
