It's a lot of calories early in the day, but it really does keep me full for a good 4 - 5 hours, and having a high protein b'fast within 30 min of rising is part of the experiment I'm doing for the Leptin Rx (just the sleep part, I don't think I'm leptin resistant).

Sazzie - glad to hear you were able to modify your woe for the occasion!

Ok, I saw this and just thought maybe you could help me with something?
I have just begun reading Dr. Kruse's plan for Leptin Resistance and I have a few questions. I posted in thyroid (to start), but maybe you can help?

1) When should I take my thyroid medication if I'm supposed to eat with 30 mins of waking (at the most)? (It's ok if you have no idea on this one).

2) What if I can't eat stevia? He is so opposed to sucralose (for reasons that I haven't read yet) - so what is my other option?

3) He doesn't like whey protein powder (or soy, but that's fine, I don't eat soy)...so what should I have instead of whey?

Ok, enough of that. I LOVE reading all the menus! It really helps me get in the spirit of JUDDD.

Hi DD,

Unfortunately, I know very little about the Leptin Rx other than I got a quick overview and decided to try his high protein b'fast to see if it improved my ability to fall asleep at night.

Most of the time I'm using whey protein for b'fast or during the day to up my protein, but I'm not sure why he doesn't like it. I think he prefers you to eat meat, but I just can't gobble down a bunch of bacon, sausages, etc. first thing in the a.m. It took me a while just to get used to drinking a shake when I got up, lol. Who knows, maybe I'll get around to the meat one of these days, but a shake is so easy to throw together and drink.

Sorry, I don't know anything about the thyroid. I hope someone can help you out with that, either here on LCF or on Dr. Kruse's site.

Not sure because I haven't read where he disliked sucralose, but I bet it has to do with it being less "natural" than stevia.

Pirate Jenny and some of us were talking about the Leptin Rx here, mostly in regards to sleep, but you can check it out: The "breakfast for better sleep" experiment

Had a salad with BHF yogurt ranch.

Now a glass of wine.

Ooh, only 685 calories for the day!

If I feel like it, I can fit in another glass of wine.

Thanks for the info. Maybe I will just try it the best way I can and see how it goes. I love a big breakfast, but working it in right when I wake up is difficult. The thyroid boards have been helpful...I think I just have to get up and take my meds at like 2am in order to do this, but it will be worth it...I think.
