Hello

Hi everyone- I'm new to this site and juddd. I am day 2 of juddd and its going well. My first dd was yesterday and it was fine. I have about 100 lbs to lose. Has anyone here lost that much on juddd? All advice would be appreciated. I am doing dd on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday and I'm trying to exercise as much as possible. Thanks :-)

WOE: Whatever plan keeps me around 150 lbs!
I had over 100 lbs to lose and am down 32 lbs, 22 lbs since I started JUDDD in December. It seems like the majority of the people who come to JUDDD already lost a lot of their weight on other plans, but there are a couple here who lost significantly on JUDDD. I'm hoping to be among their ranks.

Wow 32lbs since December! That is really inspirational. Any tips?

32 since October when I started Atkins, but 22 of that has been since December.

The best tip I can give is to stick to your numbers, both UD and DD. I adjusted my UD number down from 2345 to 2200, just for the sake of having a nice round number, and I do my best to stay below that. I usually come in between 300-400 on DDs. I have not messed with my rotation. I am thinking about it for the first time next week because I have an event to go to, but I may not do it even then because I'm afraid to jinx whatever's working so well right now! I exercise some, but not a whole lot, so I can't give tips there.

And finally, if the scale's all over the place, relax and know that it's going to go down as long as you're following the right numbers. I had a gain in my third week and am so glad I stuck it out.

Thanks kierasmum. I am being more generous with my cals - 600 dd and 2600 on an up day. I will see how it goes, weigh in next Friday.

Andi - I too have over 100lbs to lose! I began my JUDDD journey on the 22nd of November and up to the 29th of January I had lost 25lbs (and had been away for a week of holiday - not to mention the seasonal festivities at the end of December!!) I haven't weighed since the 29th of Jan as I travelled to Australia (where I now live) and my scales haven't arrived and probably won't for another 2 weeks (I'm personally finding it very scary not weighing every day!!)

However, clothes are getting looser and looser and looser!!!

And forgot to mention Leo - who has lost over 100lbs on this WOE and, if I remember correctly, is now maintaining.

WOE: Low carb/calorie cycling
Andi-
I lost my initial 90 lbs on generic low carb (and still eat low carb), but I came to JUDDD because of age and medical issues. After the initial loss with low carb, I stalled for almost a year, not realizing that the smaller body requires less food. When I discovered that I had to eat <1000 cal a day to lose, I found that too frustrating to try to do on a daily basis. With JUDDD it was possible.

I didn't use the calculator UD number because that was much too high for me; I lost most of my weight with 400 cal DDs and 1400 cal UDs, and my endo approved this. I only lost a pound a week, but that's because I'm post-menopausal and hypothyroid, along with what my endo calls a "genetically slow metabolism." But I lost steadily with no stalls, and in 2 years lost another 100 lbs.

I'm now maintaining, and I've found that the calorie cycling is still important for me because you really can't eat much more than when you get to goal, so I'm still restricting calories. However, this is a healthy way to eat, and my body seems to really like it.
