Yes, exactly this. I think when I started, the calculator gave me DD calories of somewhere in the low 300s (can't remember exactly), but I eat anywhere from 350-450, sometimes all the way up to 500 or even more. I think it's fine to start out at 500 or even higher and work your way down if you choose to or if you find you need to. Some people never work their way down to lower calories on DDs and continue to lose. Please don't be disappointed in 390. That is an excellent DD in my book!

Just under 600 cals. I am happy with that. I had to eat out at lunchtime and chose the baked potato with beans. It was huge so I just ate little of it. But no one notices that I was 'dieting'.

Lovely meal with DH this evening. Salmon, tomatoes and broccoli with some tomato sauce and anchovy fillets. A feast really. And this is maintaining on a DD.

B'fast kept me full for over 6 hours!

I just had a red grapefruit and got into my DS's chocolate protein powder. Had a shake made with 4 T. heavy cream and about 6 oz. water. Surprisingly, that was quite tasty!

I'm up to about 840 calories, but I am making burritos tonight, so that will up the calories quite nicely. There's always wine if I need some extra help!

Thank you all for your kind thoughts about my daughter. She is still in the hospital, but much better. Maybe tomorrow she can go home. She had been ill, but thought it was a similar problem to the virus that her husband and daughter had last week, and thought it would be a waste of time to go to the doctor. Unfortunately, it was an unrecognized kidney infection that nearly overwhelmed her system, and she was pre-septic when she arrived at the hospital, and in very serious condition.

I'm pretty sure she's on the mend now; it will just take a little time.

This is my 5th DD... oddly they're easier to deal with than up days for me!
Me, too! I think that "dieting" is so familiar to us, we KNOW how to handle it. Eating a more liberal plan....not so much! I always have trouble on my UD's too!

Today so far I've had 8 ounces almond milk and 2T cottage cheese.
I plan to have another cup of that, and some hamburger/cabbage mixture. If that doesn't take me all the way to bedtime, I have a cup of Carbmaster Yogurt for dinner.

Tomorrow, I will be out of touch mostly again. Hubby has a medical procedure, and I have to be there to drive him home. But once I get home I'll check in.

Thanks again, guys, for your kind thoughts and hopes.

Alas, I tried to get my apple fritter for breakfast and it didn't happen.

B: Coffee
S: 2% Fage with Mio
L: Lean Cuisine, Buddig Pastrami package, 1 oz. FF Cream Cheese
S: 1 oz. dark chocolate bar

I thought this was a huge amount of food.

I'm at 609 calories for the day so far! I still have 1591 left for dinner!

one can of Trader Joe's split pea soup is 150 calories and really thick and filling. I added one sliced hebrew national ff hot dog for a total of 200 cals--so satisfying!

Looking for Thursday's thread - and realising that it's still Wednesday evening where most of you are - LOL!!

Thursday in Australia DD!! First DD here - and I'm doing it!!

B: Cup of Tea
L: Skinny Flat White Coffee
S: Low Calorie Cranberry & Raspberry Jelly Pot (may have another later - they're only 9 Cals)
D: 1/3 of the Pasta Sauce (mainly toms, some veggies and a bit of ham) that DH is making for his dinner (and for our host) and some mushrooms - if I can find some green beans I'll have them - but if not - I'll survive - for tomorrow is an UD!!

Planning on coming in around 380 - 400 cals!!
