DD Protein

I keep hearing that protein on DDs is the key for many people. What are you all eating? I find that there are so many calories in meat, that I just end up eating mostly veggies and soup. But I'm SO hungry most DDs! Ideas?

Ideas here: http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/ju...d-staples.html

A lot of people enjoy shrimp, tilapia and other fish, chicken, tuna, egg white, and often times rounded out with stir-fry or salad. I love the cabbage skillet. The link to that thread is in the one above. HTH :)

Is the dannon brand good?

yes!! very creamy after you stir it up and add the sweetener and vanilla.

I think egg white omelets are a great source of low calorie protein. I make them with 4 egg whites (60 calories with 14 grams of protein). I find most of the "egg" flavor to be in the white anyway. I add a wedge of flavored Laughing Cow Cheese (35 calories with 2 grams of protein) just before I fold it over and top it with some sort of bottled hot sauce like Valentino's or Roy's. So less than 100 calories each with 16 grams of protein. I usually have a salad of vinegar slaw or vinegar cucumbers. I also make deviled eggs discarding the yolks and using half the whites for stuffing and adding all the regular stuff. Still taste like deviled eggs to me.

I'm not a DD pro as of yet and really struggle with them, but I too have found that keeping protein high is key. Today I'm planning to have a whole egg supplemented with egg white as well as center cut bacon for breakfast, a lean burger with cheese (no bun) for lunch, and ham steak + salad for dinner. 550 calories.

I get the leanest beef I can find and that satiates me better than chicken or fish, though I love both of those, too.
I was lucky to find a brand of 98% lean ground beef (springerhill brand) at 120cals for 4oz, I can have 2 servings and still have plenty of room in my calories for a lot of bulky veggies.

I eat HB egg whites. One large egg white is 18 calories. I save the yolks and make egg salad for DH. They eliminate hunger fast for me. I usually eat three on a DD. They are tasteless to me so they do not trigger the desire for more. I have tried egg white omelets but do not care for them. Not sure why since I can easily eat the HB whites.
