Im still here and loving JUDDD. I started in NOV but didnt really get going good until jan, and even then didnt follow the UD/DD rotation, i had a md in there. Now i am doing the normal rotation and much happier. Im in the range i want to be weight wise and im happier than i have ever been. I will stick with JUDDD forever. It has been so long since i have been able to eat carbs. Its really wonderful. I look forward to DD's as much as i UD's too and that makes it very doable. I just love it and wish more people would figure this out.
Im also not binging and purging anymroe and have no desire too. I am not depriving myself of anything so there is no reason for my body to even want to revolt. I am reading Brain over Binge right now and that book makes so much sense and is the best thign i have ever read about ED's. My life has totally changed with JUDDD and i cant thank you guys enough and cant thank Dr Johnson enough.

It's such a happy and exciting and encouraging place, and even with all of the folks here who contribute to the fun discussions, I know there are even more JUDDD followers out there, reading but merely lurking. Every once-in-awhile I'll see a poster on another forum with JUDDD listed in their stats, but they're somebody I've never noticed over here.

People here are excited about their plan and they're excited about their foods and menus, so it's a fun place to read and participate, and I think that helps people maintain their interest, and that seems to help them be successful too.

It certainly a fun and hoppin' forum now. I love it here!
Great post, as usual, Pat! I'm definitely a "lifer" with JUDDD. It's not just a diet but a way of life for me, and I believe many of us in maintenance. JUDDD has helped me become thinner, yes, but also healthier and more aware of my body and food and hunger and satisfaction in various ways. I may deviate from the plan more than most, but I always come back to regular JUDDD for a while now and then.

And yes it's great that we have a forum like this to help keep us perking along.

While I don't love the down days as much as I love my up days, I love that I *feel* like I'm doing something to advance my goals on those days. In some ways I do almost find the up days to be more difficult for me. The fact that I can eat has really helped my binge issues (no binges in 2 months!) because I don't feel deprived, but at the same time being allowed to eat whatever I want has led to some not so healthy food choices at times. But honestly I'd rather eat that (carefully measured out and weighed and counted) plate of nachos and stop obsessing over it than feel deprived because I can't have the nachos, so I am trying to not feel guilt over these things.

But anyways yeah, big picture. In December I will weigh less. That is all there is to it. This is my year. It's happening! (Of course it helps that I've lost 25 pounds on JUDDD so far while eating nachos, that doesn't hurt the motivation).
This IS your year! You're doing great! Enjoy those nachos as the pounds drop off!

I've been alternating JUDD and Fast 5, and I have reached my mini-goal as of a couple of days ago. My next goal is another 5 pounds, and I'll see if I want to lose anymore at that point. It's really working for me!

Realized as I was eating my veggie soup today that I'm actually enjoying the challenge and creativity of this WOE! Who knew?? On DD's and even on UDs now, I like reading the "what are you eating?" thread and the recipes thread. Then I get ideas about what I can put together that will be healthy, delicious and, FILLING. Even on DDs! You can actually eat a lot of volume for very few calories, right Pat?

It's just so cool. I started December 22nd, but feel like I'm just hitting my stride now. It feels like my body is really loving this plan. I've never been a breakfast eater and now I don't have to feel guilty about it. Heck, I don't have to feel guilty about anything!

Big bonus: I'm not afraid of my scale anymore! When it's up that's normal. When it's down, that's great. And, every time I hit a new "low" low, like yesterday or a new "low" high after a number of rotation UDs and UUADs, I know it's really working.

Now that I've learned I can even use MDs to make my UDs fall in place where I need them too, it's even more fun!

I've lost inches, gotten into a smaller size clothing and kept off the weight I lost on LC and added 5 more pounds gone to that since December.

I'm stayin. You will never, ever get rid of me.

Those new 'low' highs are especially thrilling, aren't they? To me, they really feel like progress, even more than the DD results.

WOE: JUDDD
Count me!!! I have been JUDDDing since end of Feb-2011, and have "slowed down" at times due to life circumstances, but even then staying mindful of my WOE and not gaining. I am such a believer in this plan and thankful every day that I found it! Understand why it may not work for others but, I'm thrilled that JUDDD works for me. Wish it did for everyone!

LOL Yes, that is right! I weigh out my foods in ounces, so post most of what I eat in ounces on our Daily menu thread, and sometimes that doesn't sound like it would be a lot, but since I'm one who does well when my DD meals contain a lot of volume and chewing.. I favor BIG casserole bowls of salad, or plates heaped with stir fry veggies, etc. I like some protein on my DDs and then plenty of extra protein on UDs. It works for me.

Pat: Protein works for me, too. If I have enough lean protein, I know my appetite will be under control. Sometimes I forget that!

Me too! I adore vegetables and greatly enjoy getting to gobble tons now. But, it does take a few bites of protein and a wee bit of fat to satiate me.

Cheers and happy tears for everyone who find peace with food through this or any healthy woe! Having food as a friend just feels so good!

Shelly,
It's so good to read your post. You sound so upbeat and I'm glad you found your sweet spot.
I, too started JUDDD with a MD once a week, but since have gone with regular Rotation, and while I haven't seen a marked difference on the scale, I still feel if I give it more time, all will fall into place as it should. I still use MDs, but a lot less frequently.

Wise combo you have there corgimom. Congratulations on reaching your mimi-goal and I'm sure your next goal is in your not too distant future.

Like you, I'm not leaving either. Even when I see the scale number go up, it doesn't bother me because I know it is simply the program doing its thing. And as long as I respect my numbers, I'm good to go.

My husband has always told me to eat breakfast to the point that I told him one day to put a lid on it.

One of the things I love most about JUDDD is when taking a break for whatever reason, it doesn't take 2-3 weeks to get back on that train.
If I had stayed on low carb, goodness only knows what weight I'd be looking at given the types of calories I've been eating.

Gracie: I think you are so right! On strict VLC the weight comes off pretty quickly in the beginning. But one cheat and the scale goes up and stays up! I'm very confident in the magic gene and it's effect on my body as Dr. J describes it in his book. VLC? not forgiving at all. JUDD? Very forgiving and easy to get back into after a vacation or an UUAD!
