20percent weight loss calculation or higher?

Do most people use the 20 percent when calculating weight loss? I took out the exercise allowance (even though I work out) but I seem to feel better on the 25 percent calculation. I'm wondering if there is a big difference in weight loss per week between the 20-25-30. Anyone know? I have started to get headaches when I go too low on DD with the cals. I'm pretty sure it is due to the low calories other than something else.

I stay at 20% but I have a lot to lose. I think if you do what you know you can do longer term, then that's what's going to work best for you. A lot of JUDDDers aren't able to start out with 500 calorie DDs and have increased that and still lost well, so I don't see why a higher percentage would hinder you. It might make your loss just a little slower, but slower is better than not at all.

I'm eating between 400-500 most of the DD but when I go below 400 I am really struggling, hungry and headaches. My 20 percent calculation should be below 400. I'm going to see what happens when I stay closer to 500 but I'm worried it might stall me.

I didn't have a lot to lose when I came to JUDDD. I aimed for 30 - 35% WLM, but sometimes landed around 40%. That meant DDs from 500 - 700 calories at times. Sometimes more.

Adding - in maintenance my DD can go up to 800/900.

I definitely stay a bit above it at 600 for DD's - but it is a number that I can live with relatively comfortably, and am losing steadily, so it's all good with me.

I did 20% DDs for a week or so, then went to 0%, which I much prefer.

I just keep it at < 500. I don't even remember what my DD number was when I did the calculation.

I started higher and in the last week or so the juddd appetite suppression has really kicked in and im down to about 300 to 400 and feel fine. You may find you can go down in time but start off with what feels comfortable.

I pretty much just aim for 500 or fewer. My actual 20% is 457 or something like that.

What is the point of the 20/25/30 % calculations. I did mine at 20% (which came out to 396). I want to lose as quickly as possible. I assumed this is the calculation that would do that for me. Are the higher one's to be used if you want a slower rate of loss.

I think they are pretty much guidelines for those who maybe can't stay at the DD numbers for 20% and want to go higher, but still lose.

Yes ^^^^ I did my DDs at a number between 40% and 45% but I only had 6 pounds to lose. I lost on average 1.5 pounds a week, sometimes 2 pounds and was at my first goal of 145 in 4 weeks. Continued to lose another 10 pounds in the next 8 weeks to my new goal of 135, so it can be done at a higher percentage rate.

It's what works for each of us, not a "one size, fits all" thing and once you figure out what % works to keep you feeling like you can eat on your DDs without feeling like you are starving, and what % helps you to lose weight will be the % that will work for you.

I used the 20% calculation since I want to see how fast I can lose my excess baggage. DD's are 350 and UD's are 1750. I usually have 275 calories on DD's now that I have finished the two weeks using shakes. Since I am losing I have not felt the need to change anything yet. I haven't found the low calories difficult yet. I just drink a lot of fluids if I get hungry. And eat a HB egg white. Can't beat 18 calories. And I do not "cook" on DD's. I eat very plain so as not to want more.
