DD Food Porn
I'm pretty new to this, like my 3rd REAL DD will be Saturday. One this I am missing is the pretty pictures of food. I was hoping others would join me in my efforts. Here is what I made for tomorrow's meals. I have to work and made this tonight because I don't want to get up early!
![]() This took me about 20min to make (less time than I had my white-strips on for) I weighed everything, and I am impressed by the LARGE amount of food for 370 calories!!! ![]() 1lb cabbage-100 calories 200grams of shrimp- 200 calories 2 LC cheese wedges (garlic/herb and french onion this time) This should get me through the day no problem- with room for some cream in my coffee!! ![]() I shredded the cabbage myself then cooked it on med. high heat with salt, fresh cracked pepper and some garlic powder- I like to brown it for more flavor. I sprayed the pan lightly with Pam first. I chopped up the shrimp and tossed that in the middle of the almost cooked cabbage. Then I added 1/2 cup of water to the pan and the 2 LC cheese wedges, covered and let melt. Then I took the cover off and cooked till the liquid was gone. Presto- one full DD's worth of meals!! This is not an original dish- I give full credit to this thread Cabbage, laughing cow cheese and chicken Hope more will join me!!! ![]() For those interested there are 17 carbs in this whole dish. 14 in the cabbage 2 in the LC wedges and 1 for the shrimp. ENJOY!

Honestly even if the food isn't that exciting- I know it is nice to have an idea of what you can eat for fewer calories for anyone new to counting them!
Even if it is some deli meat on a plate! I put a salt shaker and the mini bottle of soda water in there for size reference. Looking forward to some more ideas!! |

Looks Yummy! I will be having similar for lunch today. But I can't find laughing cow around here, so I got some philly cooking cream cheese stuff, and will toss a bit of that in there. The shrimp sounds good, I may use that instead of the chicken or tuna I was thinking of.

mykidsteacher--if you can find the weight watchers wedges, I recommend them--they are delicious and different flavours from the laughing cow and melt well in broth--I love the parmesan peppercorn flavour

This is my most common version of the Cabbage skillet dish... I started out by frying the shrimp and tilapia (cut up into pieces) in nonstick spray, a little chicken broth, and about 1/2 t. red curry paste on med/high. Then I removed it from the skillet.
Deglazed pan with more chicken broth, added coleslaw mix, mushrooms, onion & garlic powders, ginger (from a squeeze bottle), and black pepper. Cooked it down to desired level. Stirred in 2 egg whites & 5 T. soy sauce, cooked some more. Added back the seafood. I decided it needed a touch more heat so I sprinkled on some cayenne powder. About 400 calories estimated in the whole skillet. ![]()

I have tried the Swai from Wal-Mart. It is not bad but does not seem as flaky as tiliplia. I like tilipia better.

![]() This was absolutely DELICIOUS!!! I was a little afraid to use the shiratake noodles for something other that a dish with a soy sauce base. But was Pleasantly surprised by this dish for 100calories!! sauteed onions and red and orange peppers thin julienne. I guessed at 25 calories and to be honest it was probably less! (next time I will weigh) 1 pkg shiratake noodles 1/2 cup Rao's Chunky Garden Spaghetti Sauce 70 calories dash of soysauce 5 calories bit of chili garlic paste- I used a bit too much and it was a tad spicier than I would have liked normally. You can skip the spicy sauce if you like. This was my first DD meal after the cruise and I am rather impressed with it! Will try another meal with the shirataki noodles soon! |
