Question to those who fast on DDs...

Do you ever wake up the next day (your UD) and you're not hungry? I fasted yesterday (black coffee & iced tea), my tummy was growling when I went to bed and I thought "I can't wait to eat tomorrow!". Well here it is tomorrow and haven't eaten yet but I'm perfectly content. I feel that I could easily fast today but I know that's not how this WOE works.

I remember having this issue the last time I did JUDDD. I eventually quit fasting on my DDs but couldn't keep my calories under 500. It's like once I start eating it's all downhill from there. I think fasting is a control thing for me. Anyone else screwed up like this? If so, what are you doing about it?

Yes and no. Yes in that I'm not usually hungry in the morning on my UDs, and as I'm really familiar with fasting, I know it's because of the extreme restriction the day before. No in that I don't pay any attention. Just eat SOMETHING now. Anything that you can manage, even if it's random and not perfect - for example, yesterday I had leftover Chinese food for breakfast! ;) If you do this, you'll "break the seal" and can carry on with the rest of your UD. But if you just keep waiting til you're hungry, you'll wind up eventually really messing with your metabolism.

i have to make myself eat in the UD morning...and it's weird because after i eat i kinda feel giddy...like almost drunk, this morning i had a cinnamon raisin bagel thin/pb ala beeb and trop 50 oj and was almost like weeeeeeeee all morning....after a strong dd yesterday where i thought my tummy would lull me to sleep with a slow purring....not at ALL hungry this morning but i'm determined to DRIVE this piston...as so happy calls it!! i do understand the control thing tho....im equally as giddy with the thought of a lowDD number...i feel very strange about it but it's working!?!

I think we all experience that strange occurrence on JUDDD and have remarked on it.

I rarely have an appetite in the mornings anyway, so not feeling particularly hungry when waking up after a DD is just more of the same anyway, but I was expecting I would be really hungry for a change when I first started this plan.

I just eat whenever my appetite wakes up, which means it's usually brunch around 11 or so. But then I have appetite later for a later afternoon 'teatime' snack, and then supper, and I always have to save out calories for an evening snack. This is how my inner appetite control switch has always been... some hours of the day open to appetite, and certain hours with no appetite feelings at all.

Just try to do a pretty good job at meeting your UD calories and keeping to your DD calories, and you should reap the wonderful JUDDD results! You are just getting a few extra hours of the DD fast period until you breakfast.

I'm hungry in the mornings on UDs and DDs until I have my coffee. That shuts it off for a couple of hours. Today, I wasn't that hungry (it's an UD) and decided to wait until lunch. It wasn't too hard. I think I may try this more often. If I can get into a routine with no breakfast either day, I'm hoping my "hungry monster" will be turned off until lunch time with less effort. Of course, then I'll have to have a decadent lunch AND dinner on UDs. Woe is me . . . ;)

Im not hungry when I wake up but I bet hungry once I get to work. On DDs it's getting so easy to ignore that hunger and then it goes away. It's weird, it's not like a starving hunger, it's just an annoying hunger but if I let it go out didn't take long for it to go away. Im making protein pudding for DDs, just to get some protein. I make big one and then split it into 2 bowls. The whole thing is about 120 calories. I bring my snack bag with cucumber, celery and carrots but don't need it anymore. It is so strange and wonderful how my snack monster is gone now.

"Just start eating" was the key for me today. After supper I was at 1174 calories. When I came to work (I work nights) someone left a box of chocolates in the conference room. After a few of those I'm good now!

Thanks guys!
