It's Thursday, what are you eating today?

DD
I haven't really planned today but I have a tilapia fillet out. Will probably make a tilapia, celery, onion and tomato and chicken broth soup.

UD for me today. Yesterday was an interesting DD. I definitely had more energy and was more active (it was also my first DD where I wasn't sick.) However, I was also hungrier. I was quite hollow at bedtime, but I worked through it and slept fine. This morning I was hungry for breakfast, but not starving.

Breakfast--1cup Fage 2% with SF creamer, sprinkled with 1/4 cup protein plus cereal and 2 tbl walnuts. coffee with SF creamer

Lunch--out, chicken and roast veggie salad with dressing. fruit salad

Snack--I really liked that light and lively cottage cheese with cinn. and apple. So I'm going to have that again.

Dinner--meat and veggies (I need to do a grocery run) Lots of kids activities today so it will be something quick and easy.

Coffee w/cream, scrambled eggs
Crackers w/cheese and salami

Going out to dinner with DH so the rest will be estimated. He wants burgers and fries and beer and since it's going to be a tough afternoon for us, I'm inclined to agree with him.

DD today--
b--nothing but black decaf
l--cabbage/tuna/egg white/soy sauce concoction (I have no laughing cow).
s--chuck roast, stir fry veggies

sn--??

Today will be tough, because we have a homeschool bowling activity this afternoon, and then I have to go to WM. I'll be hungry. Might need to take a baggie with some nuts in it to take the edge off before shopping.

I thought I already posted here.

Anyway, up day. I woke up and had a tuna fish sandwich this morning. Yesterday, I think I clocked in at around 425 calories. I should have drank more water or tea earlier in the day because the evening time was difficult.

I know what you mean! I actually don't read them on my DD. I still feel like I get great ideas for the DD, but not the torture of reading all the yummy UD food!

UD
B: Coffee (x2) with SF Hazelnut creamer and Everything bagel with whipped cream cheese
L: Cheddar Broccoli Soup and a wrap
D:Turkey sandwich with cheese, clementine, and red wine

Tracked every darn calorie!

DD. I'm hungry-it's 11:47 am
Screwed up the UD and had 2100 cals instead of 1710...I may not be the JUDD type...

Half reg half decaf large mug coffee, with Splenda and FF half and half around 10:30
around 11:00 half container of 0% fat greek yogurt
around 11:30 omelette made with 1 jumbo egg, 1oz cabbage sauteed with 2T mushrooms in olive oil spray
Water...
I have some broth with celery to have if I need it-I am at work. However, some of the broth is homemade so I think it would have more cals than the canned stuff?I guess nothing till dinner and don't know what that will be. Not much, obviously!

193 cals. I get 345.
I stick really well to the DDs but not doing well on UDs.

UD Fun!

B - Oats with chocolate and peanut butter. Yummy, but I think I've satisfied my craving for this and will be looking for something else next UD.

L - another grass-fed hb patty (boo-hoo - it's the last one) and butternut casserole.

D - not the first clue, but another grilled cheese on low-calorie bread in the waffle maker sounds good!

I also had my choco-almond milk coffee/latte/ foo foo drink that I didn't have yesterday, just because it tastes good!

BTW, woke up this morning not hungry AT ALL. Interesting. I did wake up three times for potty breaks last night, though. Guess that was a DD result from the previous UD carb intake.

Also 15 p. and 100 clorie, Non dairy.
We r suppose to gym this afternoon.
Can't imagine doing wts. with so few calories. But has to be a first for ever thing!
Broth this am, and SOON. And will mix in and egg. Forget who gave thAt great tip.
Little stomach yukie and dizzy yesterday on up day, but not until I ate. Go figure.
And I took the whole 1700 calories. I drink real milk. For calcium and I love it.
Go down dayers!
Dinner, to fall away right now to know. will work with whAt calories I have left.
So far juddding ok.

Do you plan for your UD's, what you are going to eat, exactly, and make certain it is prepared and available for you to eat?

I find not planning (especially on my UD's) to be the absolute Kiss. Of. Death.

GH my plan is to eat my regular low carb diet, but then I think, well, that's no fun, and then why did I switch to JUDDD? (usually wine is included in this thought...) So that brings my UD cals higher than wanted...

But I have been reading all these threads that talk about "it doesn't matter about your UDs as long as you are strict with your DDs"-or words to that effect.

I am in fact strict with my DDs...
Tomorrow is my two week mark and will weigh then and see what I think. LC wasn't really working anymore, mostly because of overeating and "having" to go off plan, which is why I wanted to try this to see if the UDs woul work on those social occasions.

Ah, the wine effect, I see. Oops.

Well, good luck with your weigh-in tomorrow. Remember that alcohol is burned preferentially, from what I remember, and I seem to also remember someone saying that "alcohol stops your weight loss dead in its tracks." Since that's a body response, and not diet-dependent, that might be what is happening to you. But I don't really know. I rarely drink. Usually my drinking is confined to whatever they give me free on a cruise ship. And believe me - they are stingy with free drinks on a cruise ship!

So: mind if I ask? What do you plan to do if you decide JUDDD isn't for you?

Hey AG

I'd say just keep at this. In a few weeks you should notice a difference starting, not only in weight but in how you are feeling toward the food. It may be enough time to get the really "hog-wild" eating out of your system.

You are not alone. I overshot my UDs a lot at first too because after all, one of the draws of JUDDD is that you can eat what you want, without restricting to LC foods if you don't want. But I did have to stick my UD calories pretty well if I wanted to lose weight.

After a while, you'll find you don't have to try to fit everything you want into each UD. But- perhaps (going out on a limb here) you should keep doing what you are doing - eating what you want as much as you want on UDs and keep the DDs right. Give yourself time to adjust to this new woe and get the higher carb/calorie eating out of your system, if you see what I mean.

Not that you won't get to enjoy what you want later, but sometimes after all the deprivation we feel on LC, we just want to enjoy everything as much as we can, and then when it sinks in that we can have ANYTHING every other day for the rest of our lives, we settle down, at least somewhat.

Wine is a calorie beast. I know this well! Even if you do control how much you drink within a calorie range, I would find that after a couple glasses, it would activate the dreaded Munchies Monster. Who then had to be fed anything and everything within reach!

I think this is a "good sign", AG!

What I mean is, many many JUDDDsters start to notice this effect as JUDDD begins to take hold in the body. They go to bed feeling hungry on DD and think they will attack the fridge first thing in the morning.

Then, oddly, they get up on their UD and don't feel hungry or not that hungry at all like they thought they would!

I'd encourage you to keep on, friend.
