It's Thursday, what are you eating today?

DD
I haven't really planned today but I have a tilapia fillet out. Will probably make a tilapia, celery, onion and tomato and chicken broth soup.

avecrain 01-26-2012 06:47 AM

Fasting DD, as I have been doing. 32 oz green tea, 1 piece SF gum, 1 cup chicken broth before bed. :)

WWC 01-26-2012 06:58 AM

UD for me today. Yesterday was an interesting DD. I definitely had more energy and was more active (it was also my first DD where I wasn't sick.) However, I was also hungrier. I was quite hollow at bedtime, but I worked through it and slept fine. This morning I was hungry for breakfast, but not starving.

Breakfast--1cup Fage 2% with SF creamer, sprinkled with 1/4 cup protein plus cereal and 2 tbl walnuts. coffee with SF creamer

Lunch--out, chicken and roast veggie salad with dressing. fruit salad

Snack--I really liked that light and lively cottage cheese with cinn. and apple. So I'm going to have that again.

Dinner--meat and veggies (I need to do a grocery run) Lots of kids activities today so it will be something quick and easy.

KeirasMom 01-26-2012 07:47 AM

UD

B: Fage 0% with 1 C raspberries
L: Ordering in from an Italian Deli for the office, will probably get a sandwich.
D: I'm thinking fried chicken, but who knows what DH will want.

vilanteira 01-26-2012 08:01 AM

DD today.

B: coffee
L: --
D: 2 slices bacon, flame grilled chicken breast, raw milk cheddar, kelp noodles with a bit of marinara

Around 400 calories.

Bonnie 01-26-2012 08:12 AM

UD but not sure of the plan yet. Might go up north and visit the grandkids and that usually means eating out :)

B: coffee with HWC, not hungry yet but will eat something later
L: probably will eat out somewhere
D: Some kind of meat and veggie combo
S: Coconut oil/PNB bark

Knittering 01-26-2012 08:13 AM

UD

Coffee w/cream, scrambled eggs
Crackers w/cheese and salami

Going out to dinner with DH so the rest will be estimated. He wants burgers and fries and beer and since it's going to be a tough afternoon for us, I'm inclined to agree with him.

sophiethecat 01-26-2012 08:40 AM

FD today. :)

B
- black coffee. Just not hungry yet.

L
if I'm hungry enough for all this:
- leftover tilapia & shrimp veggie fried rice
- garden salad with Bolthouse Farms Ranch
- whole milk plain yogurt with blackberries

D
I'm planning to do something with pork, and make ratatouille, and maybe I'll make a bean and rice dish with some polish sausage in it. Will have to think on this.

mykidsteacher 01-26-2012 08:45 AM

I feel like I'm backwards to most here--on DD when everyone else is UD. Makes reading this thread torture on the dd's. LOL

DD today--
b--nothing but black decaf
l--cabbage/tuna/egg white/soy sauce concoction (I have no laughing cow).
s--chuck roast, stir fry veggies

sn--??

Today will be tough, because we have a homeschool bowling activity this afternoon, and then I have to go to WM. I'll be hungry. Might need to take a baggie with some nuts in it to take the edge off before shopping.

Sedona 01-26-2012 09:16 AM

I thought I already posted here. :stars:

Anyway, up day. I woke up and had a tuna fish sandwich this morning. Yesterday, I think I clocked in at around 425 calories. I should have drank more water or tea earlier in the day because the evening time was difficult.

I know what you mean! I actually don't read them on my DD. I still feel like I get great ideas for the DD, but not the torture of reading all the yummy UD food! :)

UD
B: Coffee (x2) with SF Hazelnut creamer and Everything bagel with whipped cream cheese
L: Cheddar Broccoli Soup and a wrap
D:Turkey sandwich with cheese, clementine, and red wine

Tracked every darn calorie! :)

Scotty 01-26-2012 09:52 AM

DD. I'm hungry-it's 11:47 am
Screwed up the UD and had 2100 cals instead of 1710...I may not be the JUDD type...

Half reg half decaf large mug coffee, with Splenda and FF half and half around 10:30
around 11:00 half container of 0% fat greek yogurt
around 11:30 omelette made with 1 jumbo egg, 1oz cabbage sauteed with 2T mushrooms in olive oil spray
Water...
I have some broth with celery to have if I need it-I am at work. However, some of the broth is homemade so I think it would have more cals than the canned stuff?I guess nothing till dinner and don't know what that will be. Not much, obviously! :p

193 cals. I get 345.
I stick really well to the DDs but not doing well on UDs.

ArmyWife88 01-26-2012 10:05 AM

Second DD today. went over my UD calories last night by about 350 cals. I find DDs much easier then UDs

B: coffee
L: none
D: 2 slices bacon and an omelet

total 445 cals

adillenal 01-26-2012 10:22 AM

UD
B - coffee with HWC, 2 eggs, Ezekial bread toasted with spray on butter
L - yogurt with apple and banana
S - birthday cake in the break room
D - ground beef. cabbage, tomato with shredded cheese

TallToriV 01-26-2012 10:24 AM

DD

B - coffee w hnh
L - going out with friends, wish me luck. Prob a small salad.
D - going out with grandma, should be interesting (No, Grandma, I'm fine. Honest. No. Please!). Considering fasting til din so that I can eat what looks like a normal meal.

gharkness 01-26-2012 10:30 AM

UD Fun!

B - Oats with chocolate and peanut butter. Yummy, but I think I've satisfied my craving for this and will be looking for something else next UD.

L - another grass-fed hb patty (boo-hoo - it's the last one) and butternut casserole.

D - not the first clue, but another grilled cheese on low-calorie bread in the waffle maker sounds good!

I also had my choco-almond milk coffee/latte/ foo foo drink that I didn't have yesterday, just because it tastes good!

BTW, woke up this morning not hungry AT ALL. Interesting. I did wake up three times for potty breaks last night, though. Guess that was a DD result from the previous UD carb intake.

Eieio 01-26-2012 10:32 AM

My second dd. fingers crossed

I plan to drink shakes today.
I have Atkins with 15 protein, 160 calorie I think.
And then one called Muscle Milk ( gross name ) but not bad tasting if very cold.
Also 15 p. and 100 clorie, Non dairy.
We r suppose to gym this afternoon.
Can't imagine doing wts. with so few calories. But has to be a first for ever thing!
Broth this am, and SOON. And will mix in and egg. Forget who gave thAt great tip.
Little stomach yukie and dizzy yesterday on up day, but not until I ate. Go figure.
And I took the whole 1700 calories. I drink real milk. For calcium and I love it.
Go down dayers!
Dinner, to fall away right now to know. will work with whAt calories I have left.
So far juddding ok.

If someone had told me this just a month ago when I was first starting, I would have called them a liar. OK, well, that's kind of rude. I would have said they were "fooling themselves."

NOW, I know what you are saying, and it is the truth! :high5:

Do you plan for your UD's, what you are going to eat, exactly, and make certain it is prepared and available for you to eat?

I find not planning (especially on my UD's) to be the absolute Kiss. Of. Death.

Scotty 01-26-2012 10:58 AM

GH my plan is to eat my regular low carb diet, but then I think, well, that's no fun, and then why did I switch to JUDDD? (usually wine is included in this thought...) So that brings my UD cals higher than wanted...

But I have been reading all these threads that talk about "it doesn't matter about your UDs as long as you are strict with your DDs"-or words to that effect.

I am in fact strict with my DDs...
Tomorrow is my two week mark and will weigh then and see what I think. LC wasn't really working anymore, mostly because of overeating and "having" to go off plan, which is why I wanted to try this to see if the UDs woul work on those social occasions.

corgimom 01-26-2012 11:08 AM

Today is my first DD. Black coffee, beef broth, and lonely Slimfast shakes (that were put aside when I started LC). I really believe I can manage this WOE, lose til I'm at a size I'm happy with and stay there.

Lunch at 1 p.m.

-2 c. leftover tilapia/shrimp/egg/cabbage&other veggie/fried rice
-1/2 c. Breyers mint choc. chip ice cream.

Estimated calories = 950. :stars:

gharkness 01-26-2012 11:14 AM

Ah, the wine effect, I see. Oops.

Well, good luck with your weigh-in tomorrow. Remember that alcohol is burned preferentially, from what I remember, and I seem to also remember someone saying that "alcohol stops your weight loss dead in its tracks." Since that's a body response, and not diet-dependent, that might be what is happening to you. But I don't really know. I rarely drink. Usually my drinking is confined to whatever they give me free on a cruise ship. :hyst: And believe me - they are stingy with free drinks on a cruise ship!

So: mind if I ask? What do you plan to do if you decide JUDDD isn't for you?

Scotty 01-26-2012 11:24 AM

GH I am hoping I can figure it out. I would continue with low carb.

I am very hungry on DDs, but, oddly, when I wake up on the UD, I am not ravenous... funny.

Hey AG :)

I'd say just keep at this. In a few weeks you should notice a difference starting, not only in weight but in how you are feeling toward the food. It may be enough time to get the really "hog-wild" eating out of your system.

You are not alone. I overshot my UDs a lot at first too because after all, one of the draws of JUDDD is that you can eat what you want, without restricting to LC foods if you don't want. But I did have to stick my UD calories pretty well if I wanted to lose weight.

After a while, you'll find you don't have to try to fit everything you want into each UD. But- perhaps (going out on a limb here) you should keep doing what you are doing - eating what you want as much as you want on UDs and keep the DDs right. :dunno: Give yourself time to adjust to this new woe and get the higher carb/calorie eating out of your system, if you see what I mean.

Not that you won't get to enjoy what you want later, but sometimes after all the deprivation we feel on LC, we just want to enjoy everything as much as we can, and then when it sinks in that we can have ANYTHING every other day for the rest of our lives, we settle down, at least somewhat.

Wine is a calorie beast. I know this well! :o Even if you do control how much you drink within a calorie range, I would find that after a couple glasses, it would activate the dreaded Munchies Monster. Who then had to be fed anything and everything within reach!

I think this is a "good sign", AG!

What I mean is, many many JUDDDsters start to notice this effect as JUDDD begins to take hold in the body. They go to bed feeling hungry on DD and think they will attack the fridge first thing in the morning.

Then, oddly, they get up on their UD and don't feel hungry or not that hungry at all like they thought they would!

I'd encourage you to keep on, friend. :high5:

I really needed to hear this today. Thanks! I'm hoping that's what's happening here too!

HotMommy 01-26-2012 12:20 PM

UD :)

B: Coffee with a little bit of regular creamer mixed w/ my 1/2&1/2 in it. Very yummy! 61 cal
Jimmy Dean sausage patty, also yummy! 360
L: Thinking 6-8 cheddar cheese jalapeno poppers with ranch: 531 c depending if I can finish all 8
S: Low Carb monster: 40 cal
D: Pizza (most of crust removed) and salad: 650 cal

1,642 cal total can have about 250-ish more if I desire. Yay!
