New to JUDDD

I've been reading this JUDDD thread and am very impressed with all I've read and with all of you. I bought a book on cycling carbs instead of Dr. Js book and it is very complicated. Wish I'd bought the docs book, but uour info on this site was so much clearer and has helped a lot.

I'm a 68 yr old woman who has dieted most of my adult life. I wish I had heard of this way of eating before now. Tomorrow will be my 1st DD. Made this an UP day but didn't come close to my high calories of about 1900 cals according to the JUDDD website. But if I understand what I've read, I don't have to eat all those calories. Right? I read and printed out info about IF, but not sure if I will be able to do that as I'm diabetic. I noticed it said diabetics have to be careful doing IF. Hopefully when that corrects itself with the weight loss, maybe I can do it then. I am really excited about this woe and look forward to it. Most of my life, I didn't eat breakfast but through the years of dieting I learned to eat it because we're told we have to. So I have to admit that while I'm excited about not having to eat breakfast on DD, I'm also nervous about it.

I'd like to know if there are any diabetics here who have done this and how it worked for you. I'm still reading the old messages and just may not have come across any diabetic messages yet.

Thanks for you help.

Yes, there are some diabetics here, myself included (Type 2, no insulin).
The main problem I've had with IF or JUDDD + diabetes is that my Metformin upsets my stomach when fasting or on DDs because of the small amount of food. But I have not had trouble with my BG getting too low.

I'm going to bed but there are some threads on this subject...you may have to poke around a bit! Here's one: Blood Sugar & JUDDD

Welcome - hope you find success!!

I don't have diabetes - but DH is type II, one thing I notice and think most Diabetics here will agree - is that he does a lot better on protein and a little bit of carb - so you may need to listen to your body more carefully than someone without.
