Stinky timing for an UP day...
I have to have a tooth extracted this week - I would have sworn the appt was on Wed, which is a DD for me which I considered perfect timing! However, just got the call from the dentist, and the dang appt is tomorrow which is an UP day.
![]() OK - So, given that I won't want to chew much, and may not feel all that great....any ideas what to eat? I thought about soup or even a milkshake/protein shake, but don't know how good hot or cold will feel back there either. Scrambled eggs with cheese is one of the only things that comes to mind... So, how do I get in 1800 or so calories on a day that eating is likely just not going to be that appealing? This is SOOOOO usually not a problem for me. ![]()

Cream soups. Cream of broccoli, asparagus, mushroom..... LOTS of cream. Or pasta alfredo.

I'd do cream-based soups and milkshakes and coffee w/hwc.
Heck, I might do that tomorrow anyhow. |

Way too much time on my hands!

You could make tomorrow a MD, which would call for 50% fewer calories than an UD, and then do your UD the following day with rotation from there.
Or the previously mentioned soft foods. Or, just to the best you can and not even worry one whit about whether you quite get your calories in or not. You know, occasionally isn't going to let your metabolism lower. Hope you have no discomfort. (Don't you love how they call it *discomfort*?) Like having a baby might cause you a little discomfort. Etc. LOL |

All in all went ok - had a decent breakfast, but then after the appt had zero appetite. My husband brought me a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie for lunch, but I really let it sit around until about 5 when I finally dragged my fanny off the couch. Then finished that off and had spaghetti (eaten slowly) for dinner....followed up by the infamous chocolate cookie....and maybe just a wee bit of the dough
. All in all it added up to 1559 cals. A wee bit low, but not THAT low that I am worried about it. My mouth still hurts, so I am thinking tomorrow as a DD may not be all that hard. May even stick with those protein smoothies so I don't have to aggravate my mouth anymore. Thanks for all the advice! |
