Betty, I'm on the low/mod carb side too. A "high" day for me is around 70g. My first dd I had 10g. I don't eat any grains and veeeery limited amounts of sugar--usually in the form of fruit or honey. So my carbs are pretty much vegetable carbs.

I just feel better that way.

Noelle--YAY!!!!!! WTG.

Vicky--WTG to you to!

As for me, I'm back to 132 where I started this adventure. Whew. UD for me today. Haven't planned it all out yet, but had a yummy breakfast of bacon and eggs.

Thanks!! And yup, that feeling of being in control is SO great!! I don't HAVE to eat anymore. But I can if I WANT to I no longer feel deprived. While I loved Atkins, I started feeling really deprived. I kept telling my boyfriend while on Atkins "I can't wait to get to my goal weight, then I can have one piece of cake..." or "The first thing I want, when I get to goal, is fries". Knowing that I would only be able to have fries once every few months on maintenance wasn't making me happy. And when I had fries this past weekend, my boyfriend said "so, you're having fries sooner than expected!" And I felt SO good about it!! I am eating fries and chocolate AND I'm losing weight. What more could I be asking for?

I so understand this, Noelle. I did Atkins for 11 years and although I was at goal or close to it for most of that time I longed to eat some of the foods 'normal' people ate. I honestly believed that I would never, ever be able to eat carbs and be slim.

Yet here I am, eating anything and everything I desire half of the time, and weighing in under my gaol weight, day after day after day.

Yay indeed Vicky, me too.

Weighed in at 151.2 today, I was 148 the day I left for vacation (January 6th), I was 157 when I returned home on Saturday (January 14th). I am back Juddding, right when I returned home and the weight is just coming right back off! It's so wonderful! Headed to goal weight, hopefully will be there soon!

My trusty travel scale is still my friend today! I'm getting soooooo much exercise. Yesterday was a DD and it worked out really well. Today I'm saving up for a Luau and Hula show at the Disney Polynesian Resort. I've heard the amout of food they give you is INSANE. I'm not at all hungry, but looking forward to the freedom of chowing down if I want to!

Enjoyed reading all your updates.

I am very sensitive to carbs, but I don't think that's because of all the time I wasn't eating them. It seems to be the reverse for me, like I can handle them better when I'm not eating them -- like if I go off plan for one meal. And the very first time I started Atkins I felt 20 years younger and many of my physical ailments vanished. So I was pretty sensitive from the get go.

Sounds fun! Enjoy!

I'm going back to low carb. I just can't handle the carbs. I've gained a bit (up to 184.4 this morning) but mostly I'm worried about the out of control feeling that I get when I eat carby stuff. I haven't decided exactly how I'm going to handle it. I'm thinking either unlimited non-starchy veggies and close calorie counting, or keeping the carb grams low and ease up on the calorie counting on UD's. I need to decide by tomorrow. Today I already did my eating and it was all meat, so not an issue.

I know what you mean, that is why I do JUDDD low carb. I know from past experience what happens when I add carbs back in. I haven't hit 30 carbs in one day since I started UD/DDs. I love the DDs and that is why I'm doing JUDDD, not to eat carbs. My trouble has been the UDs not being high enough in calories but I'm getting there much better by adding more coconut oil and other good higher calorie lc items, and by eating a bit more of my usual low carb meals.

I really get out of control when I eat carbs, too. I like eating low carb, though, so it's not really a problem except vacations and events where most of the choices are carbs. I find it very hard to leave the sweets alone. At least with JUDDD, it gives me a way to get back on track.

Don't think I've ever been on a diet where it was so easy to lose the holiday gains - and one where I looked forward to getting back into control (for want of a better word) over what I put into my body!

Well done!

I just keep bouncing up and down and losing and gaining the same couple pounds. Didn't lose any weight last week at all, but 4.4 pounds the week before so I am just trying to be patient.

I was so happy a few weeks ago to get into ONEderland and stick there, well now i am there, but getting so close to the next decade that I just want to see 189 by the end of this month.

My goal is to be down to 140 by summer and I am doing my best, and trying to remind myself it is a process. I have started working out again too, so hoping it is just my body holding onto water weight from working out.

I was within my UD calories yesterday but not to happy about my food choices, so know I need to change that, need more vegetables and fruit.

Third DD. Walked around the house aimlessly, because I am avoiding my study work, but I made sure to grab something filling. So I had a banana and a baby bell. Also got on the exercise bike for 10 minutes, did my 250 sit ups and 30 pushups. Drinking lots of water and broth. I will make it through the day!

I had gained several pounds when I weighed yesterday because I passed a bad night on Monday - too little sleep, plus TMI issues north & south, resulting in dehydration yet bloating? Plus hormones doing their thing...

Anyway, after a DD yesterday and a good night's rest, I'm back at 140#.

I new to the JUDDD WOE, but I am another one who really has to say low-carb. When I eat carbs, it sets off a cycle of craving and eating (binging basically.) I have come to accept this, but I like the idea that I can eat my healthy carbs on my update. I enjoy fruit and some cheeses and want to be able to eat those without worry. It "comforts" me that my DD's reward is a satisfying UD.

Yes, it feels so good doesn't it, at the end of a DD to know you've put in the work and effort, and when you wake up you get a wonderful reward - an UD! And more reward when the weight goes down. And more reward when health issues improve (I've been able to go off my allergy meds after a couple months on JUDDD).

Who knows, you may at some point be able to include a few more carbs in your diet as you get used to JUDDD and more carbs.

I had intended to slowly introduce more carbs after coming to JUDDD and going off strict LC, but after like the 2nd UD, I just went hog wild! lol. It took a month or more for me to really settle down and not eat so much "crap" (too many high calorie, refined things like "sweets" - my downfall, on most UDs). JUDDD still worked for me, but I think now if I'd gone up the carb ladder slower or saved certain things for treats, it might have kept me from overindulgence on sweets, fast food, processed stuff, etc. But I made it and all is well in maintenance.

I am one who binged on carbs the first time I did JUDDD. I found that for me, eliminating sugarwas the key. I can have some carbs on my UDs now--but I have starchy tubers, a piece or two of sprouted grain toast, some fruit or yogurt--and I am just fine. The combination, however, of sugar, flour, and fat? NO--not yet. Perhaps down the line, but not now.

We all have to choose our own path, and for many Low Carb eating along with JUDD is clearly a wonderful way to go.

I have enjoyed all the lovely foods I have eaten since beginning JUDDD and can honestly say that the carbs have not made me binge or feel sluggish, which I feared. I enjoy sharing a small Pizza or a croissant and feel satisfied. i still eat moderate carbs as a rule though, just my way.

Lovely to see 123 on the scales today after a DD yesterday which included champagne!!!!

Great losses again, special congrats to Vicky, 'cos she is my daughter!.

just love the sense of peace i feel while on JUDDD ..... it pains me to think i ever 'left' for 2 months ... sigh. onward....

hope everyone has a great day!!!

I didn't exercise in the 3 months I've done Atkins, but the 3rd day on JUDDD I jumped on our exercise bike and have been on there every single day. Feels great! We're now enjoying the way we want to be, whatever we want to eat.

For me, eliminating sugars is no longer an option. I can take it, just in moderation, and JUDDD really helps me with that! If I am craving something today, I can just stop and say to myself "nope, I am having that tomorrow, and I'm going to enjoy it tomorrow!"
