Getting off the carb train. Break time is OVER.
I got on the scale this morning and I have gained 9 POUNDS in a month. I know some of that has to be water cause my pants still mostly fit.

I wonder if my new meds are also messing with me????

I've always known I can't eat 'whatever I want,' like some do. But this is nuts.
I keep reading stuff about dieting and LoCarb suppressing metabolism but HELLO!!!! lookit what happens when I allow carbs(and good kind of carbs) back in??? lol!!!

Welcome back Betty!!

Ugh, I just did 10 minutes on my exercise bikes, 250 sit ups and 25 pushups... And I am feeling extremely dizzy. Yeah, it's a DD. I can easily do 20 minutes on my exercise bikes and the sit ups and pushups without getting all light headed. A lesson learned - no exercise on my DD!

Going to take a shower and have some broth!

141# today - down 2# after my highest weight in over 2 weeks yesterday. It was from ovulation & water weight.

I've been eating like a beast the last couple days. Thank goodness the hormonal hunger has died down. I could tell when I woke up and didn't want to attack the refrigerator.

Kate, your 3 pounds loss is awesome!

Vicky, I love seeing how you've bounced right back down the scales since your vacation.

Betty, I'm so sorry you're struggling with your weight. I DO suspect most of it is water. I doubt seriously you could've added that much fat in such a short time. Carbs will definitely put water on you fast, but it'll come back off fast, too. Perhaps you've just taken it a little fast to start off with. You may be able to tolerate more carbs as time goes on, but you'll have to work up to it slowly, I think.

NoelleSilvia, I admire you for trying to exercise on a DD. I know some people can do just fine with it, but I don't think I'm one of them, lol.

Sophie, I'm glad the refrigerator is safe, for now, lol.

I'm happy to report only a one pound bounce up after my two weekend FDs. Maintenance is going well!

Betty, that's one reason I don't like low carb when you do go off it you gain all
that water weight you lost those first week or 2 on low carb. And as you said it
might be one of your meds I know from experience that that can sure happen.
Try to hang in there a little longer by now you have probably gained back all the water weight you will and should see the scale slowley come back down. I have lost 40lbs
doing this and it is so tempting to go back to low carb and see another 10lbs come
off in a week or so but I know it would be mostly water.

Yay for the losses!

Betty--hugs on the gain.

I'm steady at 134 this am after yesterday UD. Hoping to see some movement after a DD today. (at least back to where I started).

Sophie--hormones mess with me too. Both hunger and water weight gain.

Hi Friends!

Just a drive by post for me. Can't remember if I told you I'm in Florida for a week. Yesterday started out as a DD but ended up not so much as we had to attend 2 business/social functions last night. Lots of food and drink. I didn't go overboard. But still. A bit hard to calculate calories on everything. Like, how much for a spring roll???

I totally stayed away from the dessert buffet. But when the waiters and waitress were walking around with trays filled with glasses of champagne during the firworks and fantastic music part of the evening, I grabbed a glass everytime they walked by!

So, I'm counting it as a MD probably 1100 or so calories? Anyway, scale was down a pound this morning. so YAY Feeling good. Off for a boat ride. CBL Just want to keep in touch. I've skimmed and read lots of your posts and sympathizing w/ Betty and those struggling with the Rejoicing w/ those maintaining or losing!

I'm proving to myself that I can stick with a plan and still have fun and EAT even on vacation at Disney Resort!!!!!

Oh, thanks so much!
I seem to be losing just under a pound a week...not very dramatic, but I'm eating such wonderful food, and not feeling deprived at all! In fact, I had some naughty food this weekend: a waffle, nearly half a loaf of Italian bread (I experimented with cooking some beef marrow--it was marvelous!) and a bagel...can't believe I didn't GAIN!!!
So I don't know about that "well deserved", Kissa!

I've been doing more of an IF thing lately than JUDDD--but I'm going to hang out here anyway, because this is the friendliest place around!

I have to say, I wouldn't be batting an eye at bringing carbs back into my diet and my life - and gaining 9 or 10 pounds of water weight from it. So be it. I just didn't want to be fat.

I DID and DO want carbs in my diet and my life! I AM glad to have them back, along with the related weight gain from my tissues returning to the normal state of Mother Nature's design. And after that was allowed to happen, JUDDD took away the FAT.

When you guide your food choices strongly based on a scale's morning weigh-in result, you may end up with a lifetime of restricted menus, elevated carb sensitivity, and water weight fluctuations from the least little thing, forever. And what I suspect is happening in you, is that you are being shown just how sensitive and reactive you have finally made yourself from carb avoidance for so long.

I believe that JUDDD can deal with this for you, but only if you continue on with your days. And either include the carbs in your diet, or restrict them from your diet, if that's how you want to live your life, but then let JUDDD do its thing for you. Patience is a virtue, especially in getting your body adapted and switched over to a *carbs allowed* dietary choice.

Sorry you are shocked, but I really do think it's only water weight regain and will settle down again. And JUDDD can allow you to both include carbs and then find weight loss too. If you continue on the plan.

I understand..I should pick a team and stay on it. Lo/Md or as many carbs as I want..

I feel more comfy on the low side(50-100) and saving medium or high carbs for special occasions.

I was a good girl yesterdayy!!!

229.1, can't believe I'm down about 2 lbs since I started last Friday! I had another great DD yesterday. Lots of water, tea and broth, and a nice diner. Having a great UD... Going all out. Wanted a pizza tonight but I think that is not going to work (I'm SO full and it's 230pm). Tomorrow I am going to try to stay under 400.

So happy!

Yippee! A pound a week will get you where you want to go. Who cares how long it takes, if you're enjoying the ride?

Betty, I've been meaning to tell you that you are so PRETTY! I'm glad you've jumped back on here with us and if you hang in there and take it one day at a time, you'll be successful, I'm sure.

It sounds like you've already gotten with the program, NoelleSilvia. That's a good loss to start with. Isn't it cool that something you think you want something, but you aren't really hungry enough, or maybe you realize you don't want to "spend" your calories on something?
