140# when I weighed just now. So still hanging around below 143# all the time these days. Now if I could just keep a regular exercise regimen going. I know it makes me look and feel better, but it's still hard to get my lazy butt to do it!

I had a great DD today so im hoping to be down again in the morning. I am slowly adding carbs and i seem to be doing fine. I was really scared. Yesterday on my UD i had a egg sandwich for breakfast, only 1 piece of wheat bread but its a start and i had about a 1/2 cup of alfredo pasta with my salad for dinner last night. Now that was a treat!!!! It was nice to be able to eat what everyone else was eating even if it wasnt the main portion of my meal i was still able to eat some of it and i was still down in weight this morning. That was amazing!!! This is such a motivating group!! I just lvoe all of you guys. Keep rocking JUDDD!!!!!
Shelly, I'm so pleased to hear the excitement in your voice. I know you've been frustrated. Sometimes it just takes time for a new plan to kick in and you have to be patient. It seems you have been, and now you're being rewarded. KUDOS!

So, yesterday I had the most decadent dinner ever! Years ago dh and I were at a big fancy birthday party for a judge he used to work for where they had these AMAZING grilled cheese sandwiches -- gruyere and cheddar on yummy bread with a smear of marmalade on top. I don't love marmalade, but they were to die for. So my dinner was a gruyere/cheddar grilled cheese on yummy thick french bread, tons of butter, with cherry preserves and a big salad. I was so satisfied that I ended up coming in 300 cals below my daily total even though I usually eat right up to it and still feel hungry.
Ooh, yummy! That sounds like a good plan, having one goodie each up day.

I wish I felt energized and motivated. I just can't make myself start exercising again. Oh, well.....maybe someday, lol.

I love JUDDD because it's so forgiving. I reeeally don't want to back myself into a corner with Atkins.

I'm also trying to do a grain free or mostly grain free/lo carb challenge(for MYself). JUDDD would work well with that.

I don't know if I mentioned yet, but it's been two weeks since I've been on my new meds. I'm still adjusting but it's going to be GOOD!!!

I need a plan to get off this squishy carb trail I've been wandering down. Telling myself "NO," hasn't been good enough.

Yay for the meds! I'm glad you're seeing good results. It's a bit tricky sometimes to get them adjusted just right, but you're on your way.

For me - I'm on hols in Austria - so no weighing - and I'll be honest, my DD are hitting 750 - 800 (250 or so in wine ) but still around 35-40%; and my UD are probably closer to FD - but I'm not scared - I feel good!!
It works pretty well, doesn't it? We just have to always reign it in if we let it get away for too long. I know you'll be be fine when you get back home. And I bet you're sure enjoying yourself in the meantime!

Anyway, after completing most of a two week startup, I am finding an interesting pattern: at the end of the day, I am SO ready for the next day. Matters not whether it's an UD or a DD! At the end of a DD, I am a bit hungry and have my great food all planned out for the next day.....at the end of an UD, I have HAD IT with food and never want to see it again, hahah!

Someone here I read who also had WLS said JUDDD helped her find her pouch again...this is so true. I was all set to eat this great muesli for breakfast, and since it has to be made in advance, I made a huge bowl of it....three bites later and I am feeling just a teensy bit sick. Guess that's the end of that indulgence!

I will say, though....this really seems to suit me. Though I have no great love of the DD's, I do find them manageable!
Success! Success! Success! I don't love DDs either, but they sure are worth it to be rewarded with weight loss and some enjoyable UDs. I spend way too much time on this forum, too, lol.

As for me, I'm down another pound after my DD yesterday. I'm sitting one pound above goal, so I'm happy with it. That Olive Garden meal was worth every ounce, and I love how easy it is for me to jump right back to a DD on the next day.

It's all good as long as I can live with this yummy food in the house and not lose my wits. Yesterday I did a *complete* fast (other than 1 T SF coffeemate), but I made my kids orange chicken (not from scratch, of course), rosemary parmesan rolls with butter and apple for dinner and didn't even lick a finger. So my resistance muscle seems to be working hard.

For everyone on DD - TODAY IS PLAN YOUR TOMORROW SANDWICH DAY!!!!!

I'm afraid I've already revealed my most amazing grilled cheese sandwich idea. I'm trying to talk myself down from having another one today. I had a different yummy planned. We'll see.

I still feel like I have to really brace myself for DDs, but about half way through I seem to hit a groove and enjoy it. I'm always ready for the UD's though.

So I did the full fast (w/ 15 cals worth of stupid coffeemate, lol)! As someone else mentioned, it was no harder than 500 calories. And I feel good this morning. I'm probably going to keep going until lunchtime. My 8 yr old's school has a picnic every thursday, so if I go, I'll eat there. Otherwise, I may wait till dinner depending on how I feel. As for weight loss, it seemed pretty normal for after a DD 1.0 pound down from the day before.

I don't know how or why that happens but I'm glad it does! After a certain amount of time not eating, the temptations go away. Good for you!!

I do not believe this. Except that I do.

After not weighing for a few days because of my workouts and not wanting to see a "muscle restore" scale gain, I gave in this morning and stepped on the darn thing because I "felt thinner".

Imagine my surprise. Down FOUR pounds from a few days ago.

And, I have to confess this week has not been an easy one. I tried dropping my DD calories to 350 and one DD turned into a mid day because I could not do it. Went back to the JUDD site and looked at options for 25% and 30% and calculated again. Yesterday I decided to have a 700 to 800 DD. MY UD calories are calculated at 2472. DD supposed to be 494 @ 20%.

The last UD turned into an UP, UP, and away day!!! I was just so hungry I could not stop eating. Thankfully I don't have any junk food in the house. I ended up eating bowls of cereal, double fiber bread with peanut butter and bananas, several glasses of milk and anything basically that was not nailed down.

We shall see what Mr. Scale has to say tomorrow and if it bounces back up or not. I'm still going to average my weekly weight and compare that to previous weeks instead of just relying on one day.

Anyway, been thinking that all this exercise is making me hungry! Ya think???

Woohoo! these are awesome results. i miss being able to eat 2200 on my UD's. thats where i started but since i am down quite a bit i had to lower the UD. I am hoping in maintenance I will be able to slowly up it. I like being able to eat. I think i am one of the few that doesn't dislike all the food on the UD.

ya, I can live with that!

I did want to try going gluten free again for awhile..but it's so hard!! *pouts* One thing at a time I suppose. Clean the eats up first and worry about other stuff later. Besides, i've got a lot going on plus still adjusting to new meds, etc.

ok, glad I could get that out.

Thanks for "listening."

this sounds like a great plan. I have just started reading up on clean-eating and going to go get some books and see what that is all about. sounds alot like what i already do. right now i am focusing on getting my nutrients and vitamins both from supplements but also from my food and getting a exercise routine going.

this morning i am down to 192.8, so close to being out of the obese bmi and into just overweight bmi. sounds silly to look forward to being overweight, but i will take that over obese at any time!!

JUDDD and cycling/fasting plans are supposed to *normalize* our appetite and hunger feelings and our response to foods, so maybe some of that has kicked in.

I just came from the chiropractor's office, and they weighed me. WITH shoes and clothes, and I was 141#. So at least I know my home scales are pretty accurate, saying I was 140# naked this morning, lol.

It's nothing special, dazygyrl, just a Healthometer from Walmart, like about 7 years old. It only does round numbers, where other people here can tell when they are up or down .8 or something, lol.

Help...nothing fits!!!

So today, I'm trying clothes on (especially slacks and skirts) and I have hardly anything that fits! Guess I'll have to go shopping...hoping to find some good deals with the clearance sales on right now!

Had a UD/FD yesterday with WAY too much food and I saw a number on the scale I haven't seen in a LONG while...136.6! BUT, there was a LOT of salty foods on my menu yesterday and today it's going to be a good DD and more liquids than usual to get rid of that water weight.

And the scale, she bounces!!

I just love all you guys!! So inspiring!!!
I think i have finally hit the JUDDD magic. Im hoping so. The scale has been everyday this week, even after UD's!!! That is amazing. Im feeling really good, full of energy, not hungry on DD's. Im hoping this is finally working for me. I hear all of you adding back these wonderful carby foods and im ready to try that.
Im gonna try tomorrow doing a little more carbs than normal. Its my MD so i will keep cals low but have more carbs than usual. Wish me luck!
Im planning to have oatmeal with real brown sugar and cinnamon with 2 boiled eggs for breakfast and tomato soup with a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch! OMG i used to eat this when i was younger and it was one of my faves!!!
Dinner is going to be at my dads for his bday but it will be light. I will have about 600 cals to play with for dinner if i stick to that plan for the day.
We will see what happens. Im looking forward to it though!!!

Beeb: You got this! I have to say I feel encouraged to know the scale bounces for others too!

Shelley: Congrats on being down even after UDs!

Yesterday my scale was 4 pounds down after a DD and I was

Today it was back up 2 pounds after UD but that's still lower than after the last UD.

Also, I saw the lowest fat% # on the bioimpedance monitor since I started LC on 8/1/11. Going in the right direction! And the scale bounces bother me less and less. At first they were freaking me out. But as I average my weight over a 7 day period, it's definitely going down. Not super fast, mind you. But definitely Down and that's the right direction!

I gather this is sort of a daily chat thread? I like it. Just read through the whole thing.

I just put my planned dinner into ******, and need to come up with 200 more calories. And that's WITH including 1/2 cup of mashed potatoes. I still don't know if I'll actually eat the potatoes or not. I should have gotten some glucose test strips so I can check what happens to my bs if I decide to indulge in carbs on ud's. I think I'll make some paleo banana bread and enjoy a couple slices of that instead.

I've managed to catch a bad cold. I feel pretty lousy. It should make tomorrow easier (a dd) since I have no appetite anyway. LOL

Welcome, mykidsteacher! You have to tell us what paleo banana bread is! Sounds yummy! I hope you're feeling better soon.

I'm having a DD and it's almost 7 pm and I haven't eaten yet and haven't felt very hungry all day. I was at a friend's house earlier and she made TJ's turkey meatballs for our kids, and they smelled so good! But I am oddly detached from it, like I can enjoy how yummy it smells without being the slightest bit tempted. I am often (though not so much since starting JUDDD) derailed from my best laid plans very suddenly. Like I'm going along fine one minute and then there's this voice saying "quick! you better eat it before you change your mind!" But I haven't been having that problem at all, even while completely fasting. I hope this keeps up. Knock on wood, of course!

So I haven't had any calories at all yet, not even coffeemate, but I'm not sure if I'll have some dinner a little later or not. I only want to fast as long as it feels good.

What I noticed is that these impulses diminished pretty quickly and have all but disappeared now. I think at some point you finally, finally truly *get it*... that you can have anything in the world. Forever. Anything you want. Forever.

You no longer have to hoard it. You no longer have to binge on it. You no longer have to hurry and eat it before someone else gets it, because there is more of it, endlessly, in the grocery store, at the bakery, in a restaurant, everywhere. It will never end! You no longer have to be peeved at your spouse or kids because they took the last cookie you were saving for yourself, because there are a million bajillion cookies out there in the future of the world, and you can have them for the rest of your life. Don't have to eat it now. No pressure to eat it now. Maybe I'll eat it tomorrow on my Up Day. But maybe I won't even then. Maybe I'll eat one next week. Or maybe the week after that.

And once that finally really sinks in, you just relax and know that all the food in the world is yours whenever you want it from now on. Well, you'll observe Down Days, but once you're in maintenance, even those will be reasonably generous if you want them to be.

You are actually completely free of food compulsions because nothing is ever going to be denied to you. You will be able to manage your appetite and your actual hungers, your restricted DD calories and the freedom of your UD calories, and eventually probably Free Days too, uncounted, unaccounted for, because you will have learned how to eat reasonably now.. and that's because you don't have to obsess over food anymore. Ever. Nothing needs ever be denied you again. Not on JUDDD.
