Blood Pressure

I've always had good bp, (other than of course isolated times that occur in illness or stress or on a certain Rx, etc.). But top number always below 125, bottom number usually around 80.

I started taking my bp at that little stand near the Walmart pharmacy. While on regular LC, it was still good. But on JUDDD, it's improved. Even with the stress of being in Walmart (lol) my bp is lower than it used to be pre-JUDDD. Today it was 103 over 70(-something, I forgot). That's about what it always is now when I check it, since being on JUDDD.

Funny thing is, today it gave me the bp reading but no pulse reading! Scared me for a second, silly thing that I am, lol.

Those machines are notoriously undercalibrated. I wouldn't go by the numbers they give you even if you're using the same machine over and over. I was an E.M.T. for 7 years so I have a "little" insight.

BUT . . . if it's right, awesome job!

Thanks, Keira, for the feedback.

I assumed Walmart is not as good as the doctor's office, but I'm glad for the consistently lower numbers than it was giving me before. I go to the doctor for a checkup in about 2 weeks and looking forward to what the number is on the good equipment. I'll report back on it.

I have excellent blood pressure, but don't know whether it is JUDDD or just me.

Actually, I used to have normal but on the side of very low normal for most of my life.. to the point where I'd sometimes be dizzy if I stood up too fast. As people age they very often have blood pressure go up a bit too, so I think my low normal has now increased to the level of normal.

This last round of LC took me off blood pressure meds after 4 years. Juddd will keep me off.

Before weight loss, mine was usually "normal" 120/80ish. After low carbing, it's been consistently low, frequently 95/65ish. Like Pat, I have to be careful when I stand up suddenly sometimes. My DH has the same issue, as do both my DDs. I guess it runs in the family.

Yes, my bp is in the comfortably normal range now, while I was lc it was always right on the edge of being high (in the range of 130/90 or a bit higher). One more reason I love JUDDD!!!

When I went to the Doctor the last time in December, I not only was an embarrasing weight, but my bp had gone up too, for the first time ever - so I will be very interested to see if JUDDD helps both!

It's so nice to hear this good report. Fasting is supposed to be a help with normalizing blood pressure, so it looks like it has been a good help. Right in the comfortably normal range is a great place to have it. Yay!

I'd bet that JUDDD will help bring your blood pressure down too. I know we tend to attribute every miracle in the world to JUDDD these days, but it's supposed to be a big help in normalizing blood pressure, so hopefully that will happen for you too!

I run a low normal of 90/60 and have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow, so it will be interesting to see if there have been any major changes.

I doubt it will be too much higher as it's been this number for many years!

It's also odd that I don't feel dizzy if I get up too quickly. My dad had low/normal also, so it is hereditary.

Yayy, I just had a chiropractor appt. today, and they took my blood pressure - 96/60 !! I hadn't eaten since last night and had only black regular coffee before she checked it, if that makes any difference.

I have two dr. appts. next week and I will have them check it too.

When checked before, my readings were always below 125 top number, like usually around 105 average, I'd say, and bottom number was usually in the 70s and sometimes 80, just going by memory though.

High BP (and taking meds for it) runs in my Mom's family, so if I can beat that as I get older, I will be loving it.

That would just be wonderful. My doctor said that as people age, their blood pressure tends to go up along with that aging. That might also have something to do with the fact that as people age, they often get somewhat heavier, so the added pounds may account for this increase in older people.

Mine went up from low normal to normal. LOL

It would be wonderful if you could prevent any problems for yourself by weight control and, of course, JUDDD will take care of that for you!

Had my b/p taken the other day at the doc's office and it has come up some to 122/76.
I used to dread getting on the doc's scale, but not anymore. I actually came home and weighed with clothes, jacket, and shoes out of curiosity and my scale was spot on.

The best news is that my bone density has not decreased at all since my last scan in 2008, so will be continuing with Slow Burn. It's one of the best things I've done for myself since I started in August,'09.

My blood pressure is messed up anyway but NO better on JUDDD than on any other diet. It has been crazy (175/118, etc) or semi-normal but not great (130/80). Am seeing a specialist later this month because the Dr. cannot find a cause for it. But anyhow, JUDDD did not help at all. Neither did LC. Neither does lots of exercise...there is probably some underlying condition.

I'm unhappy to hear this. ^

Hope the doctor can find out what causes this higher level and then how to bring the pressure down as well.

Me too!! The doctor is puzzled...I have perfectly controlled diabetes and have lost 75 pounds, putting me at *almost* normal weight...everything else is great. My cholesterol is perfect, I have even had 2 perfect EKGs in the last year...so it is a mystery!

It has really freaked me out! They thought I had 'white coat syndrome' and I was supposed to be monitored for 24 hours with an ambulatory blood pressure machine, but for some odd reason, it could not read me!! Apparently 1 out of a thousand people is unreadable..and that was me!

I hope the doc can figure it out...or can send me to another kind of specialist who can. I feel like a medical mystery! And I also hope that whatever is behind this might also be behind my stall so I can solve two puzzles at once!!

Oh, yes. Wouldn't that be wonderful. I'll keep my fingers crossed that they both are related, and that the puzzle can be solved and then both problems corrected.

Now, this may be a myth so check it out, but I have always heard that you need to be well hydrated to get an accurate blood pressure reading. So, if there is any weight to that, when you go to the next appt., make sure you drink a lot of water before hand and compare.

Hope you get an answer. May not need to worry...I have always had low blood pressure and I still had a pretty bad stroke in 2004. Actually, it was funny...in the hospital, I would always set off the alarm on the BP monitor because my blood pressure drops so much when I am sleeping! They never did figure out why I had a stroke - chalked it up to birth control pills. Anyway, your engine may just be made to run with a higher idle than others.

Wow, well, I'll be darned!! My doctor did say it is a risk factor, not a disease in and of itself. And honestly, there are so many things we do not yet know about the human body...so much mystery!

People always say that LC should help blood pressure...but in my case no diet has had any impact on it. So who knows!!

Good news! I had a dr. appt. this afternoon, and around 4 p.m. they took my bp. Per MLE's advice, I made sure I drank water ahead of time.
