Moving days?

Ok so today is a DD.

I would like New Years Day to be a UD or a MD since we have a big new years day dinner at my dads house. I really do not "need" tomorrow NYE to be a UD since I really do not have any plans all day....so how would I rework my usual UD/DD schedule?

avecrain 12-30-2011 05:50 PM

I'd say MD tomorrow and UD on NYD! You could also do UD then MD, but why not have an UD on party day. :)

Thanks :)

Yes, like everyone has said: Tomorrow can be a MD and then NYD will be your UD! I have had to do 3 MDs this week to keep to my Holiday schedule!! :stars::doh:

Ok so why am I so confused :stars:

If I need a DD to be an UD what do I do. How does that change the rest of my usual schedule?

Let's say you are doing a week which looks like this:

UD - Sunday
DD - Monday
UD - Tuesday
DD - Wednesday
UD - Thursday
DD - Friday
UD - Saturday

But you need Friday to be an UD, because you're expected to attend a fancy business luncheon at midday, and you are supposed to go out to a party that evening with another couple and eat and drink the evening away. You definitely need Friday to be an UD! LOL

So, you can alter the rotation of your days like this:

UD - Sunday
DD - Monday
UD - Tuesday
DD - Wednesday
MD - Thursday
UD - Friday
DD - Saturday

Notice that you are still doing your UD/DD rotation... after each UD there is a DD and after each DD there is an UD... with the exception of that one inserted Wild Card which we call the Medium Day (MD). It's used as a wedge. It spreads our normal rotation out by that single day only, and then our normal rotation continues, just as it was... except that it is now knocked one day off.

And by giving days that *nudge*, we're able to knock our rotation a day into the future. And what was supposed to be our UD on the wrong day, now has that UD knocked forward one day and it becomes the UD we need it to be.

But we still have to do that DD. After our wonderful UD on the new date, that DD is still waiting for us the next morning.

Ok I get it, so always put in a MD the day before I need a replaced UD and then always do a DD after that added in UD.

I had/ have three events that fall on a DD this month that I need to change so I just figured out for January I will have 14 UD, 14 DD and 3 MD

Now I need decide what my MD # is going to be since I really am only counting DD and doing FD's while trying to maintain

Thank you !!

I'm going to quote Pat here when I asked for her help on this subject.

"By inserting a MD, that alters your current UD/DD rotation into the exact reverse.. of DD/UD.

If tomorrow is going to be a DD, make it a MD and push the DD onto the day after. Don't skip the DD... just go ahead and do it after the MD.

And the same is true if tomorrow is going to be an UD. Make it a MD, and push the UD onto the day after, and continue your rotation from there.

We don't ever use a MD instead of a DD or UD. We just break the *chain* . Say the chain is blue and red, blue and red, blue and red links. But we insert a green link into it. That doesn't change what the next link color is.. but it's pushed that link out of the position it was going to occupy and pushed it back one notch".

So, if today is a DD and you need to change the rotation to make a DD an UD further on in the week you take today's DD, make it a MD and then use that DD the next day after the MD. This makes that DD on what would have been an UD and it now changes the rotation.

It took me some time to "get it" but once I did it became easy/peasy!! ;)

OK, now I am really confused....LOL. Must be my DD brain fog !

So here is my month with my usual UD/DD rotation. How would I alter my days to make the 9th and the 23rd UD and not DD's?

Sorry for not getting this !

1/6 UD
1/7 DD
1/8 UD
1/9 DD (want to be a UD)
1/10 UD

By inserting a single MD on day January 8th, and then continuing your UD/DD rotation from that point out, you will have altered the rotation by a single day... All UDs will then become DDs, and all DDs will become UDs. Forevermore. Until you insert a MD again at some point and alter your rotation once again.

By inserting this single MD, you have made both of the days you desire to fall on UDs instead of on DDs. Party on!

It's one of those things that, until you *get it* is like... :stars: This is so confusing.

And then when it *clicks* and you do get it, it is like... Oh, yeah, I understand now!

Yes, when you insert a MD, just slide whatever day it was gonna be to the next day and continue to party on! :)
