Let's make 2012 our year!

I've decided I'm done messing around.
I don't make resolutions but this year I am going to: reach goal, get in better shape, do something to benefit the world, be a better wife and mother.
No more excuses. No more procrastinating. No more reasons why "not", and more reasons why "to".

What say ye? Let's make this OUR year!

I'm in! It's the last full year of my 20's (i turn 29 in August ) so I gotta finally for once do this right.

I agree. I have 21 pounds left to get to goal and this is going to be the year it happens. Granted I had a pregnancy thrown into the mix but sheesh -- this is year THREE for me of my goal to lose 100 pounds. I need to just get it DONE and then I can actually go buy some new clothes!! (I can't tell you how much I miss having a closet filled with clothes that actually fit instead of a mix of too-big, too-small, and not-quite-right.)

I am finally at my goal weight so starting out 2012 good with that BUT I really want to tone up and maybe even wear a bikini this year !!!

I love this. I don't make "resolutions" either, but I like to use the New Year to take stock and re-focus my efforts and intentions. I have been thinking about this a lot lately.

Great thread Dottie!!

I don't do "resolutions" either but like Speck I do "intentions" instead and my intentions for this coming year is to grow spiritually and emotionally to stay in a calm and drama free environment, and to learn to undo my triggers that keep me from this place. I have big changes coming (moving to a new home, wedding, etc) and I intend that these will go smoothly and effortlessly and much happiness will follow these events!

Also, I intend to stay the perfect weight for me, which is between 133/134 and to keep enjoying the foods I love and can have on JUDDD! AND to always be grateful for the wonderful JUDDD BUDDDs and others I have on LCFs!!

Linda, You have an exciting year ahead of you! Congratulations on everything!

I have been thinking about this a lot. For a lot of december I was flailing around not being able to make my old plan work for me any more, being on it and not losing, going off and gaining, eating way too much, feeling out of control. And then I think it was around the 16th or maybe a couple of days later I started reading about JUDDD and I decided to start on the day after xmas. I needed a few days to get used to the idea of it and then I really didn't want to start knowing there was a major challenge (xmas with the kiddos) right around the corner. So I started the day after xmas and I'm proud of myself for it!

BUT I really want to work towards more sane decisions regarding my eating and weight by this time next year. I was miserable for most of december (and really november, too) and feeling like I was not handling things well. I can't even say what I should have done differently given the information I had, but I just don't want to be there again. If that means more reading and experimenting, that's fine. It probably does mean more commitment and dedication to finding what works for me and actually doing it. I want to feel more confident about how I'm eating and not like I can be derailed from out of nowhere.

Thank you! AND I just want to say that "knowing" what the problem could be is the very first giant step to getting where we want to be later! You plan sounds solid and very doable and I KNOW you will be able to figure out what is good for you and just move forward!! WTG!

I, too normally don't make NY resolutions, but I do have intentions in this New Year 2012 to more freely allow and accept things and people I have little control over, but do something about those things I can control, one of which is my JUDDD woe!

I somehow managed to gain 20 lbs. this year after losing 50 the two years previous. So, I want to lose that 20 plus 5-10 more for a total of 25-30 lbs. to get to normal weight for my age and keep it off forever. I hope JUDDD might help me do that. Another goal for 2012 is to declutter this house and keep it decluttered. I'm using a decluttering calendar I found on the web that has a small task for each day rather than trying to tackle the whole shebang at one time.

So, my aim for 2012 is to declutter myself and environs.

I sold my 2600 sq. ft. house in May and moved into a 1000 sq. ft. house in June (yep we had to spend a month in a hotel!). Best thing I ever did. We paid off our mortgage, bought the smaller house outright, and only moved the things into it that we use. Although my garage is filled to the brim, my house, small as it is, is so much easier to maintain and if it gets messy or cluttered, I can clean the whole thing in a single morning. Eventually we will probably buy a bigger house again, but for right now, this is working out just perfectly. I totally understand about the clutter issue and wish you success!

This is my story as well! I too want to make 2012 my year! I had previously lost 50 lbs. and thought I would never regain any weight! I was at the weight I wanted to be for so long!! I lost my focused when my mom died and then 3yrs later when my dad died! I have regained 30 lbs and I want to get it OFF. I lost my focus during the holiday but I am looking forward to getting it back starting the first of the year! My oldest daughter will be graduating in June and I want to wear a nice dress! I also want to stay healthy because heart problems run in our family. We can do this!!! 2012 will be our year!

I am with you, Dottie!!

This will be my year to take better care of my family and home. I have set up a cleaning schedule that really works around everyone's needs. I really need to get more organized, and donate a lot of stuff that is no longer useful to me.

I also have a goal to read at least three new books a month. Doesn't sound like much, but is happily achievable.

Count me in too!! I want what you all have too. I will be putting off my JUDDD days just a bit longer, but I will be here in 2012 raring to go. I am on my last round of hcg, and then will be here on a regular basis. I will not only get the weight off this next year, but more importantly KEEP it off!!!

Hello All,

I am a Newbie to this forum, after reading through many, many posts I have decided to start Juddding... so far so good - lost 4.4 lbs my first week.

I will be taking the JUDDD WOE into the New Year and I know with this new WOE I will finally reach my goal and maintain it.

Count me in!!!! I have been maintaining my 120lb loss with lowcarb for almost 7 yrs now and i want to continue to do so. I need to lose about 5lbs is all but what i really need to do is focus on not obsessing so much and trying to have a better self image. It drives my boyfriend crazy that i have such a horrible self image. My self esteem is really bad and always has been. I always say if i could be this size or this size. Well, i have been those sizes and still had a horrible self image. Its in my head and its there from years of issues stemming back to my childhood. For this new year i am really going to work on myself and realize how wonderful my life is and be thankful for what i have.

I can so relate. I was thin most of my life and never thought I was "good enough" or "pretty enough" or "smart enough". I married my first husband right out of high school because he was popular and handsome and blah blah blah. Needless to say, those weren't good enough reasons and we divorced a few years later. I didn't marry my second husband, who's overweight too, until I was nearly 30, and I had gained a little bit of weight. I was around 175 (I'm 5'10" so still not too bad) when we started dating. He showed me that I am good and pretty and smart. I worked hard on maintaining my weight until I was pregnant, then it all went to hell. But I have an amazing family to show for it, and there really is some truth in the old cliche "fat and happy." Even though I have this extra weight that I am most definitely NOT happy about, the rest of my life is pretty darned amazing.

I wish this for you in 2012--to find peace with who you are, at whatever size YOU feel good at. You deserve it. You're such an inspiration!

Well, here I am at the start of the new year, having completely gone off the rails the last week +. Thanks to all the wheat and sugar (and other carbs), I've gained several pounds, my face is all broken out, the dark circles under and around my eyes are back, I'm lethargic and grumpy... great way to spend the holidays, eh? I need to remember this for next year so I don't do that again. Anyway, sugar and wheat free again starting today, going more primal starting tomorrow.

I have a great many goals and intentions in various categories of my life, but they all revolve around the following theme: "Taking better care of me, so I can take better care of my loved ones". My goals are to become more Primal in my eating and lifestyle, and even though Sisson recommends against "chronic cardio", I enjoy the challenge of running, so I want to take it up again. I'd also like to work in some Callanetics in addition to "lifting heavy things".
I got the vitamin regimen established in 2011, put one check in that column for me. Sleep got a little better, but I need to work on it more this year.

I jumping in with you here! I'm excited about this new year and intend to make a positive change and difference in all areas of my life, new habits..

I'm going to continue to follow and enjoy JUDDD, of course. I love this fasting/feasting way of managing my weight, my diet, and my overall health!

And I'm determined to go through every single room, closet, drawer in my home and sell so much of the possessions we have, until this place is lean and it's closer to the time when we might move into a little condo and travel a bit more. I've collected *stuff* all of my life, have so much I inherited from parents home, and DH has much of his aunt's things.. a house full of *too much*. It all looks neat and tidy on the outside, but don't look in a closet or under the beds, don't look in the fourth bedroom or the storage spaces. LOL

This is going to be an exciting year with a lot accomplished!

Oh, and I think I'd like to up the exercise by adding in another day each week that includes the gym again.
