the tortillas are Mi Rancho brand--25 cals for a small corn tortilla. I microwave for about a minute, turn over and micro another 40 seconds. Delicious crispy corn chips with no fat at all. delicious with salsa or bean dip!

I don't know if everyone saw my earlier post about the tortillas--but in addition to microwaved chips (I'll never buy chips again!) and dip, I use these to make petite DD tostadas or fish tacos or nachos--with 3 mini tortillas equaling 75 calories, all sorts of things are possible. I know one regular corn tortilla is 50 calories--, but these 25 cal tortillas are fun and easy to work with. I toasted strips the other day (in the micro) and floated them in my chicken/chili broth for a little "tortilla soup"

I'd be so ecstatic to have a Randalls in Temple. What I really miss is my Kroger! All we have up here is HEB and I just don't like their lousy pricing and corporate philosophy of squeezing out every other grocwer in Central Texas. Been doing that for years! Grrrrrr. So I shop at my Super Walmart solely to not give my grocery dollars to HEB.

I shop about 75% at Kroger, produce is better at HEB, meat is better at randalls. I do like wally world when I have a bunch of non-grocery stuff, and they have flatout bread and stuff.
No TJ here in hicks'n sticks lol |

soft pretzel(ish) anyone?
Discovered by accident just now for my dinner. . .
Two boiled eggs topped with yellow mustard and sea salt Tastes almost identical to a soft pretzel with salt and mustard! I love love love soft pretzels and am just ok with boiled eggs. This so totally rocks! But could be dangerous. . . Eeek! ![]() |

this is so simple and yet so delicious--a bag of the miracle rice rinsed and dried --one wedge parmesan peppercorn melted in--(I use the Sonoma Jack light version, but I know Weight Watchers does one too--the sonoma light is only 25 calories. a little extra S & P
really, such a nice bowl of yummy for 25 cals. |

Sounds GOOD Ouiz. I've just got to get to the store and see if I can find these WW and LC cheese wedges. Or maybe my Sams will have them. I haven't eaten LC wedges since I was in grade school. And I'm not sayin' how long ago THAT was.

One of my go-to dinners is two fat-free hot dogs (80 calories total) with two tablespoons of sour cream (60) mixed with sriracha and good mustard for dipping.

Hillshire farms grilled chicken breasts @ 120 cals each, just microwave for 1 minute.
A little pricey (I think it was almost $4 for a pack of 2, but I had a coupon lol) but for convenience it's nice. They're in the same area as luncheon meats at the stores here. |

Health Wise (bariwise) almond chip biscotti. I've only found them online, google
But 15 cals/3g carbs each for a real biscotti about a little less than 1/2 the size of the coffee shop big ones. Nice flavor and real biscotti crunch. |

Even though I'm on an UD, I had this for breakfast and it is delicious and quick! It's from Davian, who either is or was a JUDDD BUDD. Going to double it for UD's!
Blueberry Bowl Muffin 1/3 cup Carbquik 1/3 cup Davinci's (I did 2/3 of it Blueberry and topped it off with Vanilla) 2 Tbsp defrosted frozen blueberries Mix it all together (CQ and Davinci's first then blueberries) then microwave for 3 minutes to 3 minutes 15 seconds. Top with fresh whipped cream. ~~~ I mixed DaVinci's SF Blueberry and Praline syrups. It's a small muffin, is 90 calories for the CQ and then whatever calories for however blueberries or whatever other fruit used or subbed.

Very low carb veggie: nopal cactus.
It's a popular Mexican food, so you may be able to find it if your local store has a good Mexican food section, or in a Latino supermarket. I found it at Weis!!! It's pickled and sold in glass jars. The brand I got is La Costeña. Big 5oz serving: 0 fat, 5-6g carb, 4g fiber, 1g protein. Label says 25 calories, but minus fiber=8-12 calories. I like it in scrambled eggs. |

Just had one of those low cal hot chocolate drinks. 38 cals for a big mug of hot sweet chocolaty goodness. Certainly hit the spot and took away the empty feeling.
I may try a hot chocolate day. Ten mugs for my DD sounds plenty to keep me happy. |
