It's Saturday! What are you eating today?

DD Christmas Eve Day :)
B: coffee w/almond milk
All evening: boiled shrimp, deviled egg, light cheese, microwaved turkey pepperoni chips, cucumber and red bell pepper strips w/walden farms dip

SlowSure 12-24-2011 06:49 AM

DD for me. I've had to ask my Best Beloved to cut up our home-made caramels, stollen bars etc. to distribute to neighbours, as well as boxing up the ginger macarons we made. It would have been too tempting to want to eat the crumbs. :o

Breakfast: 2 Finn Crisps, 3 crab sticks & 1 Very Light Laughing Cow wedge (approx 100 cals)

Lunch: mixed vegetable soup (approx. 60 cals)

Dinner: fish curry with cauliflower faux rice (approx. 160 cals)

On target for around 320 cals as long as I can resist the siren call of stollen/caramel crumbs. :)

avecrain 12-24-2011 07:55 AM

UD this morning and afternoon for Christmas Eve!
B: biscuits and gravy, probably some yogurt, some omelet
L/D: Thanksgiving style meal.

I'll be going into down day after the meal (probably around 5ish) which will last until our traditional Chinese food out Christmas meal tomorrow night. I doubt I'll eat anything more tonight

julietcc 12-24-2011 07:57 AM

Mid day today so my Christmas feast can fall on an up day.

The plan:

B: Already had coffee with SF creamer, pumpkin pie with whipped topping - 405
L: Carbmaster yogurt - 60
D: Sister in law is making fish so I'll try to stick to fish and veggies if I can - around 600

piratejenny 12-24-2011 08:16 AM

DD from yesterday until as late as I can go today--
UD for dinner today and brunch tomorrow.

B: coffee & cream
L: 1/2 bagel with cream cheese (and maybe I'll treat myself to some lox!)
D: Feast of the Seven Fishes
^^^I am so excited for this! My friend does it in a non-traditional way, but we will be having baccala, smelts, scallops, oysters, shrimp, calamari...ummm...wine? is wine a fish?

Happy Christmas Eve!!!

I bought some kelp noodles, but haven't tried them yet. Any suggestions?

KeirasMom 12-24-2011 10:35 AM

DD

B: rice cake with LC cheese and serrano, venti black coffee (77)
L: Probably broth with veggies and shirataki (40-60)
D: No idea yet.

Tomorrow's UD will be spent at the local native american casino. They have a lovely buffet we went to for Thanksgiving. (Our tradition the last few Thanksgivings--we find it appropriate to spend it with the natives, and give back as much as we can: read=lose all our gambling money) :hyst:

It was very traditional, so I'm anxious to see what they will have for Christmas.

I'm being lazy today so just tossing some marinara in there, but I think these would definitely taste much better in a spicy asian-style stir fry or in a noodle soup, or perhaps with curry, mainly because of the strange texture. They're very... "crunchy" sort of like veggies and way less noodle-like than shirataki noodles. They recommend soaking in an acidic liquid beforehand to soften them up. Ooh, I bet they would work really well to replace the vermicelli in yum woon sen or any Thai vermicelli style salads!

KeirasMom 12-24-2011 01:20 PM

I tried them in place of shirataki in my soup and they were quite good. Thanks!

MD - I hope!!

Nothing truly, until this evening's dinner!!

B: Bovril Drink
L:very small skinny flat white
D: okay let's describe it:
1 x small mulled wine
1/2 a bottle of champage
2 slices of ham (cooked and yummy)
lump of - red cabbage, mashed potatoes, green beans
5 cream filled profiteroles
little yummy coffee!!

Thinking with all the little extra nibbles - ie nuts and chocolates - hit UD cals - so not an MD
3/4 of a bottle of red wine (approx!)

Dottie 12-24-2011 04:03 PM

Had some wine, keeping my cals under 700 for the day so not bad at all :)

Alcestis 12-24-2011 06:03 PM

My mid day became a free day. Tomorrow will be a free day too. Then I'll have my good DD on Monday!

itsmeshelly01 12-24-2011 10:43 PM

My MD turned into a UD, and tomorrow will be too. I can already tell I'm etaining waer. My thighs are hot and swolen. That's where it always hits me the worst. I'm gonna try to just stay off of the scale and have a good DD Monday. I didn't eat a lot today but I ate quite a bit of sugary carbs and I'm feeling it. Tomorrow I will do it again. I'm not even gonna attempt to say I won't. Right now I'm at the hospital with my daughter hoping for a christmas baby. My christmas day will not be what I planned that's for sure...lol
Merry christmas

Well done those who managed to keep to a DD or a MD - it was the wine that let me down (or up!) :)
