I love pinot noir but only drink a glass or two about once a week, and only on a UD. I average it at about 120 calories a glass.

I prefer my bold, deep reds... merlot, cab sav, burgundy, etc. (though I'll drink any kind of wine)...

****** gives about 150 calories for a 6 oz. glass of red.

I try to limit drinking to just UDs, and I try to keep it to 3 glasses.

I used to never have liquor - wine only - but over the last couple weeks due to the holidays, I've been imbibing since the liquors tend to have lower calories. I've been having some mixed drinks - whiskey & diet cola, or vodka with whatever....

Still prefer my wine though. Honestly, I need to reign things in again. I was doing real good, but now...

I never was really into wine. I tried a red the other day and was not that crazy about it. Is white wine a worse choice in the scope of things?

Just off to see my fitness pal...

Yesterday - 3rd ish of a bottle of red - 186 cals
Saturday - 2/3rds of a Pinot Grigio - 411 cals
Champagne - 3rd of a bottle 187 cals

I just put it into fitness pall - and choose the generic version (unless I know the name of the wine etc!!)

Interestingly - nowadays Riesling is less sweet - the new world Rieslings are quite yummy - and I normally like a very dry wine!!

Managed a glass of champagne on a DD!!

Oooh - and for Red - a Shiraz or a Merlot! White - Pinot Grigio or a Chardonnay (although not sure about all of them!)

I'm having some red wine right now! A lot of people say alcohol makes them eat more but it has the opposite effect on me. A glass before dinner and I eat much less.

I think it's sulfates in the red wine.

sulfates or tannins??

I think an Australian brand called Banrock Station doesn't put sulfates in.
