SIRT1 gene

how can you tell if you've activated it? is there a way to? i just want to make sure i'm doing this correctly, i'm in constant need of reassurance i guess, i was a ketone strip tester on lc...i guess i'll take the wait and see approach here...just curious!

I think it is mostly how your body acts and reacts. DDs get very easy, you may have energy completely out of proportion with the DD calories, you may feel very good. On the other hand, UDs are less easy because your body is no longer geared to eat. You go from gobbling with UD freedom to reminding yourself to eat. And of course in a kind of gentle bounce you lose weight.

According to the book, on average it takes a couple of weeks getting all DD and UD calories in to really get that old SiRT1 pumping on all cylinders.

thanks...the only real diet i've ever done is lc that worked but then it stopped...i'm just excited and want results and can't wait to see them, impatient i am i am....i just want to make sure i'm doing this right!!

I could tell within 2 - 4 weeks by the way I felt and looked.

my knees don't ache anymore and don't inflame after cardio. I can now do dance aerobics on the floor which use to always hurt. now it feels good. I am assuming that is the gene kicking in. also, i don't bloat anymore and I eat carbs which i use to avoid.

i don't check in much because of my schedule but i am loving this way of eating and am losing weight.

Sounds to me like it's kicking in! :high5: How long have you been doing JUDDD?

Some others have mentioned - and it was true for me as well - that about 2 weeks into the woe, the effects start to become noticeable.

 It just occurred to me that one of the good effects JUDDD has had on me is my follow-thru with my bowling......

It has become more fluid and higher and is reflected by my higher scores since I've started JUDDD.

Never did make the connection until now!!!

This is wonderful timing as the last tourney of the year is this weekend!! :D

My athritic hands don't hurt as much. I also have 3 cysts that I have had for over 2 years that I was about to ask a dermitoligest about. But if I don't ask about them in
the next 2 weeks or so I won't be able to because they are just sort of vanishing. But
this hasn't seemed to have helped my spelling.

sweet!!! these sound like the awesome gene at work as i've been reading and rereading the book....i'm only a week and half in so i'm sure i'll see some improvements to my inflammations soon....i have extremely bad arthritis in my toes of all things secondary to freitags, stress fractures, and that pain went completely away on LC....now that i've introduced my carbs back in on my UD's my toe pains have come back full swing so i'm hoping that the response my juddd budds are receiving regarding less inflammation holds true and i'll be happy to wait my turn....i'm just so excited that if this truly works for me as it has you like Beeb says i can have my cake and eat it too!!! thanks y'all for the feedback!!!

Just what carbs did you add back? The reason I ask is that some people find that
any thing with glutin ( like most grains) and anything in the nightshade family ( potatoes
and tomatoes and perhaps others) can be a major problem.

Leo41 12-08-2011 07:09 AM

For me, the carbs that cause pain and inflammation are grains and sugar (including artificial sweeteners). I don't eat nightshades, so I'm not sure whether they're a problem, but I know that if I have any grains or sugar, I have pain.

JUDDD will not cure inflammation if you are eating inflammatory foods.

mayleesa 12-08-2011 03:54 PM

oooh see yeah i added back grains and tomatoes....basically nothing has been off limits for me now....so i'll have to slowly figure out what works and doesn't...i didn't know that certain foods had more inflamatory properties than others....interesting thanks!!!! back to research for me!
