Thank you for pointing my under- eating on my UDs. I was scared a little bit to eat my max UD number because of the notion that it might stretch my tummy so big that when I get to my DDs, I will have difficulty adjusting in ingesting lesser calories. I guess reading up on different diets before launching into one that I will stick to got my concepts all mixed-up.

I started considering Ideal Protein Diet but I didn't like the idea of buying expensive food and food that are mostly soy-based. I did Atkins for the second time around ( the last one being 9 years ago) and I just completed the Ist Week of Induction Phase. I considered JUDDD to be the most doable for me especially because of the fact that I have decided to lose weight when the world was screaming, "Not now. Begin next year after Christmas."

When I started to see better numbers on my weighing scale after being on JUDDD for just a few days, I told myself, "This is it!"

Well since the 25th when I started am down 6.5 pounds. The weight loss is beginning to slow but any loss is still a loss. I love the fact that JUDDD allows me to eat the foods I like without feeling guilty and I still can lose weight

Thurs., 12/1: 178.0 DD (647)...too big of a DD for me
Fri., 12/2: 178.2 UD (1938)
Sat., 12/3: 178.0 DD (457) back and forth...
Sun., 12/4: 175.4 UD (1689) <-----this is under my goal, but I felt like my choices for the day were less than stellar, so I chose not to eat the rest of the way up to 1800.
Mon., 12/5: 176.6 DD (829)...had been doing so well until DH and DS brought dinner home for us. I ate chicken, chicken salad and lettuce salad which are fine (i.e. not junk), but didn't have the calories left in my day.
Tues., 12/6: 176.8 UD...have 1400 calories planned so far, so I'll have to add something else to get to my 1800 ceiling. Will update...

Restarting today. Going to give it another try. Was doing this for about 2 weeks before and after Thanksgiving and didn't lose, so was discouraged. Just kept going up and down the same 2 - 3#.

Questions About Resetting UD/DD Calorie Alllowances

Is it necessary to recalculate my UD/DD calorie allowances weekly as I lose the weight?

When you all started with JUDDD, which weight loss mode restriction did you start with? 20%? 25% or 30%?

Every time I hit a new low, I recalculate my calorie limits. It just works best for me, so the adjustment is gradual!

I am running on 20% mode technically, but I exercise quite a bit on DDs these days, so I allow myself some extra calories most DDs.

Good input! I was rethinking on my weight loss mode resttriction but I am better off with 20% mode. Since Andrea pointed out about consuming my UD calorie allowance, sticking to 20% was much easier. I implemented it yesterday and today is my DD and it's 12:45 and I am not feeling the hunger. I might resort to occasional fasting as well.

I need to exercise starting today. I did start on my first day on JUDDD but I injured my left arm exercising with wrist weights. I am going to begin today again.
