Cats!
So I was in my kitchen getting my Ahi diced up and out of nowhere come two of my cats (I have four). I decide to go check the recipe for something, cover the tuna up, come back, and one of them (the meekest of the bunch, mind) was on the counter! Standing on stop of my container lid, sniffing it and trying to get it open!

It is truly wonderful, the way our animal companions endeavor every day to make our lives a wee bit better.
It has been many years since I left anything 'out' on a counter. |

I have 6 cats....and have had to resort to chopping any kind of meat in my microwave!
I open the microwave door...place the meat inside, then stand with my hands inside the microwave, chopping/dicing or whatever...keeping my elbows bent to nudge the cats out of the way! When they were kittens, they couldnt jump onto the counter top...and I would be cooking away, when a few of them would take a running leap at my back, hook their claws in, and run up to my shoulders to see what I was making! My screams of pain and surprise would bring poor DH at a rush....and the sight of me covered in kittens would make him cry laughing! Now they are older, they can jump up easily....I thought a pan of sizzling bacon would be safe...but no...one managed to hook a slice with one claw...batted it round the kitchen floor, then scoffed it! Nothing is safe...poor dh was eating chicken one day...when one of the cats decidd to try and hook the meat off his fork...timed it wrong, and hooked his lip instead...he was not amused! hugs Jo x

Geeze Joedi, sounds like a horror film ![]() My cat doesn't eat my food but he spills all my drinks He sticks his head inside until it topples over. My dog just stares at me with his cute puppy dog eyes until I give him treats. He loves chicken, eggs, and cheeeeese. |

Some years ago my parents and brothers took a walking tour of Germany. The first week while visiting a bakery, my mother bought an itty bitty, perfectly scaled, perfectly detailed mouse made of bread. Which was wrapped and placed in a box in a bag. Mother carried said bag all over Germany for three weeks. Every day she unpacked and admired her tiny mouse. When it rained she wrapped it in three bags. When the drive was rough, she sheltered it on her lap. She hand-carried it on the plane on the way home. Because of a layover, they spent the night at our house (we were out of town). Do you see where this is going? She took out the mouse, admired it, and left it on the counter.
This was the only time our cats caught a mouse. ![]()
