Sorry you're sick! Sounds like chicken broth or soup would be good for you.

It's a down day for me:

B: coffee with half and half
L: leftover chicken breast
D. leftover chicken breast, soup?

If I have calories left, I'll have something sweet like sugar free pudding.

Demonica 11-15-2011 06:16 AM

UD

B- Sausage, egg w/ HWC

L- Cheeseburger, broccoli,

D- chicken w/ sour cream, string cheese and almonds

Along with lots of green tea

paulabob 11-15-2011 06:26 AM

UD.

Had 1/2 fried egg at bfast (lol, kid's leftover).
Crab salad on low carb wrap for lunch + yogurt
dinner, burger w/ bacon and cheese + sweet potato

That only takes me to 1000 calories, need to plan more. Hmm, might add coconut milk to my yogurt + coconut milk to my hot cocoa sounds good too. Add cheese or chocolate for a snack and I'm probably there...

Skinjob 11-15-2011 06:26 AM

dasiey 11-15-2011 06:29 AM

Sandelio 11-15-2011 09:01 AM

Boy everyone's UP's sound so low....

I get 1900-2000 cals on my UP, so my plan is:

B - Homemade Breakfast Sandwich (eggs, sausage, onions, hamburger bun) = 609

L - Lean Cuisine Southwest Style Chicken Panini, chips, a bite of chocolate = 630

D - BBQ chicken breast, slice of rye bread w/butter on side = 630

Snack - Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwich = 140

Total of 2009

I thought part of the "magic" was in making sure you eat ALL your cals on UP's.......

Dottie 11-15-2011 09:12 AM

Sande I do lol. But I am still pretty low-carb so most of my UD cals are from protein and fats. even adding a tablespoon of coconut oil to my coffee for those additional 120 cals. I rarely hit my high calories mark, but I try to get within 200-300 calories of it, even if I have to force myself to eat s/f cheesecake (haha).

2muchme 11-15-2011 09:24 AM

Up today!! :D And boy was I hungry!! Already had an omlet with onions and cheese (and yolks!!) and a slice of GF toast with small amount of butter. It's funny, but I don't seem to need as much of the "bad" stuff that I used to use. Just small amounts of cream in my coffee and probably could have brushed the butter on my toast and been quite satisfied. Maybe that's me just keeping that 1800 limit in my head (somewhere) because I fully intend to eat a good lunch and dinner - not to mention snacks.

I've come a long way from finding myself at only 1300-1400 at the end of the day and having to hurry up and eat something before bed to get me to 1800. Now I have to be careful not to go over!!

nikki 11-15-2011 09:29 AM

DD for me:

Breakfast:
(2) Coffee with almond milk & SF Torani syrup
Vitamin/mineral supplement

Dinner:
1/2 cup egg beaters
1/2 tsp Clear fiber
1/8 tsp No Salt
GG Scandinavian Crispbread
Walden Farms strawberry spread
2 cups lettuce
Walden Farms dressing

Psyllium husks caps
Potassium supplement

Snack:
2 cups vegetable broth
1 tsp Clear Fiber
1/8 tsp No Salt
Sugar-Free Jell-o

Psyllium husks caps
Potassium supplement

= 247 calories
38g protein

For sure! But my UD is 1600, so I plan out my calories around 1500, then have a bit of wiggle room for a late night impulsive snack. I have a harder time with my UDs than my DDs...

If my number was higher like yours, I would definitely eat to it, but I am a short low muscled not very active kind of gal. :dunno:

And I think it's a struggle for those coming off low calorie diets or any diet where their metabolism might have slowed, to trust in their UD calories. Unfortunately, I have proven again and again I have no trouble eating above and beyond my UD calories...

sophiethecat 11-15-2011 10:08 AM

DD, coming off a FD

B - black coffee

L - Great Value Lean Cafe frozen dinner = Salisbury Steak & Mac & Cheese. 260 calories.

This isn't a bad little DD meal! I definitely had to add salt to both the mac & cheese and the steak, but it's a great comfort food meal on a rainy day like this. I love that it's 25 g. of protein too!

I'm going to have a cup of Orange Spice tea when I'm done.

Edited - I can hardly finish the salisbury steak meal! I think it's all that protein, and that it's a "hunk of meat" lol. When you take little bites and eat slowly on DD, that makes it even more filling :)

Oh, for dinner I think I'm going to have a salmon steak for 100 calories. Not sure what else, veggies no doubt.

And finish the day with my Pure Protein Chocolate Deluxe bar for 180 calories.

Sissiesue 11-15-2011 11:11 AM

DD today.

Morning: Coffee and water
Afternoon: Coffee and water and maybe some bullion (5)
Evening: Red clam sauce (244) + MIM (240) + Diet Swiss Miss (25)

About 519.

You can say that again! I am coming off a VLCD where I was stalled. This involves a massive INCREASE in calories overall, as well as a HUMONGOUS difference in what I will be eating on an up day vs what I was eating every day before.

I am doing 400/1600, and I am 5'2", like you. Whereas before I was always <400 every day. And this is supposed to make me LOSE weight...

It is terrifying. All the calories in/calories out people will be howling. But sometimes the numbers just don't crunch; our metabolism DOES slow down.

For me, since I only just started JUDDD, it was difficult to eat so much on my first up day. Not only psychologically, but physically. My body didn't know what to do with all that food and it just sort of "sat around" like a brick in my stomach. But now, my 2nd down day, I can feel my digestion activating again and I think the ole metabolism is firing back up! W00t!

Here's to non-starvation weight loss!

Mad4Chillas 11-15-2011 11:56 AM

Wrong section sorry :)

betty301 11-15-2011 12:48 PM

I'm being bad today..haven't tracked cals..but it's safe to say I haven't gone over or anything.

1 cup cottage cheese
too much fruit n nut combo oops

rice, brocoli chicken stuff I made last night

cranberries/coconut

Dinner is unknown..was thinking of a cabbage/shrimp tofu pad thai type thing..(hold the noodles)

Sandelio 11-15-2011 01:06 PM

Nikki - less than 400 calories a day?!?!?!? To a 1600 UD? You must've felt like pukin'! LOL!

How did your FD go, sophie? Did you find you were way less hungry on your DD? My DD's are a doddle after my FD's!

 less than 400 a day...wow! you must have an iron will Nikki! What diet were you on? Did you have suppliments...cos I think it would be hard to get enough nourishment on so low an amount!

I really admire you for taking what must have been a very big leap of faith in starting Juddd....all that food must seem overwhelming to you.
Dont worry though, your body and metabolism will thank you...you will start to feel great AND lose fat!
I will be following your journey with great interest...and rooting for you all the way!

I made up my own plan, including:
Coffee
Tea
Silk unsweetened almond milk
Stevia
Xylitol
Splenda
Torani sugar-free syrups
egg beaters
egg whites
NLN low-carb vanilla protein powder for pancakes and shakes
MorningStar "meat" products - only the lowest-carb ones, in small amounts
PB2 powdered peanut butter
Pecans
Walnuts
Sour cream
spinach
lettuce
broccoli
cauliflower
celery
GG Scandinavian crispbread
La Tortilla Factory low-carb tortillas
Flaxseed One Minute Muffins
Pico Pica hot sauce
Walden Farms dressings, jams, syrup
"No Salt" salt substitute (for potassium content)
Occasional various MediFast packets/bars as treats

Here are my various supplements (most I take every day):
Clear fiber supplement
Psyllium husks fiber supplement
Glucomannan fiber supplement
Multivitamin/mineral supplement
L-Lysine
Milk Thistle
Calcium/magnesium/Vitamin D supplement
Sea Kelp
Selenium supplement

By judicious mixing and matching of all these items, I would always get 40+ grams of protein, ~15g net carbs, <400 calories, and 100% RDA of all my nutrients.

But I stalled as I approached my goal. Hence JUDDD!

I didn't make it to 1600, I had to quit around 1000. I almost did throw up. I couldn't sleep. But today my digestive system is, ummm, moving right along and I hope I can re-start my metabolism.

Starvation mode is REAL, folks! It's not like I was anorexic and had no more weight to lose, I only just passed into "normal" range a few pounds ago. And I am a moderately active person. But I managed to stall at <400 calories a day, weighing/measuring my food (so I know I wasn't underestimating).

If you even HAVE a BMR (like, if you're even alive), this should not be possible, right? But it happened to me. The ACTUAL weight loss finally matched with projected weight loss in my ****** software when I set the metabolism section at:

100 year old woman
Bedridden
Activity: Sleep, 24 hours

That's starvation mode.

sophiethecat 11-15-2011 04:00 PM

Six hours since my last meal :)

Having a cup of salad with Wishbone Lite Italian dressing (35 Cal for 2 T) and OMG the most delicious Cheddar Beef Enchiladas - recipe at allrecipes

Wow, I am having a half an enchilada and it's just out of this world! :yummy:

It's good to hear that your digestive system seems to be moving right along because the "Magic of JUDDD" is getting a good "gap" between our UD an DD calories.

I'm hoping you will be able to get closer to that 1,600 as the following UDs come along. I would hate to see this WOE not working for you, or at least not as wonderful as it can work for you, because you don't eat close to that "Magic gap" in your UD and DD calories.
