I think it's so interesting to see my body's weight patterns and notice how I sort of vibrate at a certain weight range for a couple of days, then my weight bumps up and then I drop to my new low. I just think that sort of thing is fascinating to know and see how your body works.

I've been really, really bad! I ate a lot on Thanksgiving, and did not track. I planned on yesterday being a DD, but with everyone sitting around the house together, and a refrigerator full of left-overs, my DD turned into an UD. I've started out today as a DD and am going to try my best to stick as close as I can to it.

Goal for November 1 is 227

I am starting today and I appreciate your tips. Like you, I missed my steel cut oatmeal and fruit and my Ezekiel bread when I was on Atkins.

I will be posting my day-to-day progress. I think this is important especially in establishing what calorie count will work best for me.

My niece's wedding is coming up in May and I want to wear something that will be out of my normal and predictable style.

Remember that it is only water NOT FAT that is showing on the scale. The scale went up just over 3lbs for me the first week and it wasn't because of eating enormous amounts of calories ... it was just the normal return of water weight. It took me the whole first week to come back down on the scale but, I can tell you that it was fat that I was losing once the scale came back down and it was very noticeable to me in the way my clothes were (or even better) weren't fitting. After the first week I had to start tying my workout pants string to keep my pants up. So, if you add carbs back don't fret when you see a possible gain on the scales at first. Just give it a little time make sure that you figure the numbers that work for you on your UD/DD and get some help if you need it in figuring them out. There's lots of support here on the board.

Hey Speedracer. I think you are showing some downward movement now. Stick with it. When I first started JUDDD I went up over 3lbs the first week and didn't go back down to my starting weight until the end of the week (actually I was still a little higher). Then things started moving. Up and down and up and down but the downs outweighed the ups in the amount of movement and the downs kept getting a little lower and a little lower. When you see my November weights on this thread? ... well that 168.8 was up from my 165.5 on the day I started JUDDD.

I don't know if you came from low carb and added carbs back. And are you sure your UD/DD numbers are on target? If you added carbs then it's water weight not fat and it will equal out with a just a little bit of time like mine did. Even if it's not from adding carbs it's still just your body's water and weight fluctuations. Don't fret yet. If you aren't comfortable with your numbers, you can post them and get some help if you need it.

BUT ... I see your weight number working it's way back down. It's never a straight up and down ... the weight numbers bounce back and forth, up and down. That's normal even for people who aren't dieting.

yesterday was my first day and it was a good DD at 495 calories. I'm down this a.m. -2.5 to 154! I am really looking forward to to woe. Today is a MD for me and I'll aim at 1200 calories and Sunday will be an UD. When I did this plan before I stayed on one weekly schedule. Monday-DD. Tuesday UD, Wednesday DD, Thursday UD, Friday DD, Saturday MD, and Sunday UD.

Thanks Lori, I think I just need to keep my Up Days calories more in control! Im 5'3'' so Im aiming for 1600-1700ish... I just dont want to be hungry or deprived on my up days. I think also Im having an issue getting over the whole 'getting to have foods i wasnt allowed to have' thing. The low carb and other diets has kinda messed me up so now if im allowed to have things i binge and want some of everything! I just need to chill out

I think I definitely have a gluten problem. Sensitivity, allergy I don't know but I have really been feeling good - pain free from fibromyalgia, free from migraines, etc, since starting Atkins.
Today I feel like crap and I really feel certain that it's due to the bread I have been eating the last few days. Stuffing and bread for turkey sandwiches. I have a splitting headache and my tummy is a rumbling mess. Plus my skin is breaking out. YUK!

So - going gluten free! I think it's the right choice for me.
