Consufed about calories???
Hi everyone
I'm ex-Atkins and want to try JUDD after reading so many positive posts about the plan from all of you! I'm trying to plan my first DD tomorrow and would like to consume 400 calories for the day, according to the JUDD site calculator. However, I've looked at the energy content of items in the fridge to work out my diet for tomorrow and I'm getting confused... I've always had it in my head that 1 calorie was roughly 4.1 kilojoules. I looked at a Laughing Cow triangle and it says 192 kj. But when I enter it into an official online kilojoule to calorie converter I get 133785.65626664 calories I'm obviously doing something wrong...![]() Should I just follow my own head and divide all the kilojoule readings by 4.1 to get the calories?

You want to convert to Calorie with a capital C, aka kilo calories, aka kcal, aka 1,000 calories.

Try this converter:
Kilojoules to Calories (Nutritional) Conversion Calculator I put in your cheese triangle and it came out at 45 cals... More accurate I think! And approximate to dividing by 4.1 also! I would try laughing cow light triangles though , only 25 cals! Can I ask why you haven't got cals already on the food labels? Also, if you are just starting juddd, I would recommend at least 500 for your first DD, if not a few more, then work down as you get used to eating so few cals, and learn what foods work best to fill you. Hugs Jo X

I live in South Africa and we don't have calories on our food labels. Mostly just kilojoules, if anything! I'll start on 500 Calories then, thanks! |
