So excited for my first DD tomorrow!!

So remind me of this tomorrow when I am in shock of 500 calories for the day!!

Subbing for PE teacher tomorrow so that should keep my mind busy and not thinking of food, at least until 3:00!!

Think I will have a slimmed down coffee egg cream for breakfast on the way in,I think I have it to about 145 calories and still should taste wonderful.

Excited to become an "official" JUDDD girl!!

yayyy! It probably won't be as hard as you think. I've only been doing this a week but I love my DDs. I actually feel in control more if that makes sense.

My DD is tomorrow too

It doesn't take very long for your brain to get into the routine and not signal so much appetite on DDs, but the big thing is... figure out some really good and filling menus for your DD meals, so that for the few calories you get, you can really get a LOT of food to fill your tummy.

Welcome to JUDDD, and I expect you are just going to be joining the ranks of the many successes here, week after week after week!

Omg...I remember how excited I was for my first DD, too! Good for you for jumping in at 500 calories. This is exactly how I started...both feet first! Best of luck to you!

And, you can totally do the 500 calorie thing. It's not nearly as bad as it sounds. For me, the hardest part is that time between dinner and bedtime. I try to leave myself a little room there to have something if I need it.

One other tip...I suggest taking measurements now. I never did and now wish I had starting measurements to compare to. (I've taken my measurements now, though, but have nothing to compare it to. ) The reason I suggest this is because JUDDD numbers on the scale can make us from time to time and we think we're spinning our wheels. When really what's happening is that, though the scale numbers may show slow movement, our measurements are usually improving!

Go, Girl!!

I was so excited the day b4 I started juddd, I couldnt sleep, lol!
Take lots of low cal snacks with u, raw veggies are good, and drink lots! Sugar free gum helps too. And keep a few cals for evening, alot of us get the munchies then!
Be sure to let us know how you get on...
Good luck for tomorrow, I am sure you will do well!

Hugs

WOE: Giving JUDDD a try!
Tomorrow is also my first DD. I'm a school bus driver, plus I work in a high school cafeteria three hours a day. I'm a little worried about being around all the food in the cafeteria, because, to be honest, school food really isn't all that healthy. On the brighter side, I have done well there on low-carb, because I grab fresh veggies or a small salad if I get hungry while I am there, so I'm sure I will be fine.

Good luck!

Or, if you're like me and some others, once you eat you're hungry all day! Therefore we fast all day and save all our cals for dinner. The tummy rumbles during the day actually feel good and can be calmed by something to drink and a stick of gum. Its actually refreshing NOT to have to think about or plan food all day! Then a reasonable dinner with your family and a lite dessert!

Thanks for all the encouragement!!

I had thought about not having anything until dinner, but oh how I love my coffee. On days that I don't sub, I look so forward to my hot cuppa and browsing these boards after I get the fam off to school and work!
So, Hello, my name is Sharron and I'm addicted to my morning CAFFEINE!!!! I guess I could drink a diet drink but I think I would really miss that morning taste of coffee. I am planning on this long-term so I was thinking I must find what I can live with, without feeling like I'm giving up all that I love!!

I have tons of coffee everyday, DD included. I like it black, but if you don't, there are lower calorie creamers you can use. Anyway, I drink coffee all morning and I think it helps me hold off my DD eating until early afternoon

Good luck to you and Melissa! Every morning I have to have my 2 cups of coffee with half and half - 85 calories worth. I may switch to a lower calorie creamer but I'll never give up that coffee!

Yup, another coffee drinker here! My cups of coffee, with coffee-mate, alternated with bottles of water, keep me going till mid afternoon on a DD.
I have tried herbal tea etc, but nothing works like a creamy tasting white coffee!

Good luck on your first day juddding!

There isn't a person who knows me well who would dare suggest eliminating coffee from my mornings, afternoons, or for that matter, my evenings!!!

I have it all day, in between drinking my water, tea and broths.

Yea!! Coffee is the one thing that gets me through my DDs when I'm really hungry. A cup of Joe and some FF half and half and I'm good for hours without eating a thing!! And it seems I ONLY drink coffee now on DDs! Have tea everyday, but coffee only on DDs now for some reason!

And aboard!!!

Just checking in........... so far so good. I am really amazed how I am totally not hungry yet!! Had about 145 calories in coffee egg cream on the way to work this morning, and that is all I've had so far.
We eat dinner pretty late because DH doesn't get home from work until around 7 most nights and family dinnertime is very important to us, so we wait!
I thought I would be starving by now, but honestly as of now, could really care less if I eat!! I will have dinner and I'm sure once I start eating I will realize that I'm hungry.
Hope every DD is like this!!

Thanks for the thread bump sophiethecat! Looking forward to going through it in a little while.

Still recouping from subbing PE today! Had 1st, 2nd, 3rd, K4 and 9th grades!!! EXHAUSTED!!!!!!!!!!

No wonder why you didn't want to eat! Bless you, I could never do what you do with/for kids!

And every DD can be a good one if you eat all or most all of your UD calories. It really does help to keep the "hungries" away!

WOE: Giving JUDDD a try!
I've done much better than I ever imagined I would. I am also the type that can go all day and not get very hungry, but once I eat, I am usually ravenous!

However, today I have managed 432 calories and have less than an hour ago. While I can feel that my stomach is fairly empty, I don't feel hungry or deprived. I have had lots of fresh veggies, chicken broth, soup at hand, cup a soup, and 2 97% FF Hebrew National.

You are off to an amazing start! I expect you will really do well on JUDDD.

Getting through the DDs is, of course, most often the hardest part for most people, so if you can face those and do them well, you are almost assured of success!
