I hit goal today so it can't be all bad.

But I too am interested in the health benefits of boosting my metabolism so will use them on occasion but not as a rule.

Congrats on reaching goal!! Have you worked out your maintainance calories yet?

Lots of fun being able to eat more, isnt it?

Thanks Jeodi. Not really sure about the maintenance calories. I have been looking at the 'maintenance' thread and agree that it seems odd that the DD cals go up but not the UD cals, meaning we may lose some of that metabolism boost.

Time will tell.

WOE: JUDDD for life, baby!!
Start Date: Feb 2009; RESTART: Nov. 2011 as EX-LCer
I, too, am on a regular rotation, and won't be using an MD until Christmas. I'm scared to use one, because I am past meno as well, and stalled for two weeks because I wasn't counting my UD cals.
So, I figure if I throw in an MD every week, I will throw everything off, like Pat explained above. However, it looks like some people can use an MD each week and still lose--I expect to maybe use one each week when I am on maintenance.

Oh, I absolutely think we can still lose if we use a MD occasionally, or even every week. I don't think there is really any problem about weight loss as such.

I just felt I needed every teeny tiny itty bitty advantage I could squeeze out of this plan to help boost my metabolism up, make it work faster and burn faster, so just wanted to keep the piston action pounding between the high & low, without the *pause* of a day that was mid-range. Especially that pause happening every week.

If I had reason to need that every week, I wouldn't hesitate to take advantage of it though! As it is, I use MDs occasionally, whenever I want to change my rotation days for some reason.
