Misses sized in the US are like this, even numbers: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14. Plus sizes start at 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, and so on. Juniors are odd numbers: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15. They are also cut different so even though I could fit into a 7 or 9 juniors they don't fit right for this 53 year old body on the bottom. The tops run smaller, too in juniors so where I am a S/M in Misses, I'm a Large in Juniors.

I like some juniors clothing cause it's cuter! Like shorts in the Summer and some dresses.

IDream, You need to shop for Misses Petite sizes. The would be cut perfect for your height and shape. The tag size would read something like "6P". Look for the "Petite" section of clothes.

Yep! I love the junior sizes because I am very lacking in the hip department. They just fit me better than women's sizes!

Like Beeb said, the tops are also cut differently, so being a bit bustier I take a L in Juniors tops whilst I take an M in Womens.

I love looking at these responses. It's funny that when I dropped all the weight the first time, my jean size was a 5 tall. In High School though, I weighed what I weigh now, but I bet I couldn't fit into those clothes either.

I look great in juniors since I have a smaller butt than waist compared to misses clothing, so they fit better (if I use larger sizes).

I started at 204 18 months ago and that was a 22W. Currently fitting sizes 6-10, but mostly 8s at 126 pounds. Not sure what my juniors size is right now...I have a pair of 13s but they are falling off. Mostly fitting small tops and medium tops - have a very small rib cage and frame.

I'll add that when I got married almost 20 years ago I was 130 and my measurements were 36/30/38 and now at 126 they are 35.25/31/38.5. Actually it's more different than it sounds since my belly was flat back then...

Well it needs to shift back. :P

I have noticed too that a looooooong time ago when my mother took me for my first good bra, I wore a 38 DD. But when I lost weight, and it has stayed the same, I'm a 36 H. I want prettiful bras so I can wear cute shirts. but around here, the bras come up to my neck near about. And some of them literally look like my mother's bras. They are pointed. So any suggestions? Most tops these days are low cut.

I like Dillards as they have a large variety for bigger girls and odder sizes - I always got my 40Fs there, and last year my 36F/Es. And this year...34D/DD???? who knows they are all baggy. I visit on New Year's Day when clearance is 1/2 price. Got six bras for $50 or so last year, huge variety of pretty ones (not my mama's bras!)

Awesome. I must do that then. It does suck when they get baggy, doesn't it? Especially if you really like them.

This IS a very interesting thread. 55 yrs. old; 5'3" and 153 lb. Breasts have always been very large--currently 36 DDD; butt has always been small in comparison to gut and boobs.
So, I currently take a 12-14 in tops and an 8 in pants/jeans. I always wear jeans or dress slacks; if I wear sweats/yoga pants, I won't stop eating
If I get down to around 140 lb. (haven't been lower than that in 20 years), I can wear 10-12 tops, because my belly gets smaller, but I haven't been in a smaller than 8 jeans in forever.

When I was nursing one kid, my bosoms went from 32C to 32DDD. Now, nursing two kids, holy cow -- 32G/H. Good times. Can't wait to see what happens when I stop! <shudder>

I only wish I could account for some of my weight in my chest, but sadly I lost muscle while pregnant, too, so I'm going to have to work pretty hard to shift things back around. Ah, well.

Are you nursing your second child or two kids currently?

If that link works, it will take you to a pic of me two months ago on LC. I can't believe I weighed 11 # more than I do now! I haven't exercised since Sept either.

But I look thinner now than I did in this pic. I will take new pics once I get back into my Callanetics

Anyway, I can fit into sizes 8 - 10 on bottom and my shirts are med/large. Hourglass shape. Glad that my breast size has reduced as I've lost weight, at least back to my "old size" of 36C.

Jo, juniors are sized in odd numbers. and misses are in evens.

technically a juniors 7 should be about a womens 8 but i find that juniors tend to be more straight fit, not much room for curvy. So if you have any sort of curves then juniors just do not fit right and/or you have to go up a size. right now i dont fit in the junior 17's but have no problem fitting in womens 16's. junior 17 is as big as they get so maybe as i get smaller i can fit in more of the juniors stuff?

Even worse, when you expect an item to be vanity sized and it's not.

I do like juniors cause they are for young "less curvy" women, but they don't generally come in "short" or "petite" lengths. So mostly I have to buy women's sizes, or buy juniors and hem it up.
