Down 5 pounds in 2 weeks....adding carbs today but scared!

Today is the last day of my 2nd week and I have lost 5 pounds and am feeling great!! I have stayed under 20 carbs a day but am changing that today. I bought a can of Vegetarian chili and some green grapes and am having them for dinner. I would say about 70carbs on one meal!!! I can't believe I am going to do it but if I don't switch over now I may go crazy on a pan of brownies and sabotage everything.

Here goes nothing......

I am telling myself that if I gain 5 pounds today and stay on Juddd, I can lose it in 2 weeks and then continue with moderate carbs every day.

Crossing my fingers

I'll cross my fingers for you too!

I came to JUDD on less than 20 carbs a day and most of the time under 10 so I really relate to your trepidation. I now am usually around 50 on UDs (under 20 on DDs) but have gone as high as 113. I noticed water weight gain but, stuck to JUDD and things evened out. As of today (after one week of JUDD) I hit my new low weight. Of course I had to do that through the water weight gain but, it got done. Today I feel like I am absolutely going to make my goal weight or better with JUDD.

So, don't be upset if you get a bit of an upswing on the scale ... just stick it out. I have simply because once I hit my goal and go into maintenance I want to be able to eat more carbs without such a high cost. Even Atkins tells you to add the carbs back. It's got to be done at some time.

You've done so well and must be proud of yourself. I'm proud of you!

PS: I haven't had any cravings or hunger stirred up from adding carbs.

JUDDD works because it is calorie cycling. I keep my carbs low/moderate most of the time for health reasons. I haven't had any problems losing even when the carbs are really, really high. I am always up in weight after an up day, especially a high carb up day. You will have to experiment to see what combination of calories and carbs are optimal for you. The only thing I have to fear from the high carbs is blood sugar swings and their associated havoc on my body and mind, not my losses. So, good luck to you!

A lot of us here understand your fear because we also came to JUDDD from a very low carb woe, and it was scary at first to add back the carbs!

But I find I have no problem with carbs like breads, pasta, veggies, beans, casseroles, etc. And I seem to retain LESS water on JUDDD than I did on LC

Keep us updated!

Wanted to add - CONGRATS on your loss! Whoo hoo, that's great!! And so glad you're feeling better too!

So I was up 3.2 pounds this morning but I have to confess I had 5 mini bags of M&Ms as well as my carby chili and grapes!!!! I could not control myself. I had not had any candy in so long. Today is a new day and I am starting Juddd fresh with moderate carbs. I can't wait to see my success at my new woe!

Yeah, candy is the type of carb I don't do so well with either. I have to really limit myself on refined carbs like milk chocolates, candy bars, fruit juice, etc. which isn't so hard after seeing how it made me look and feel last week.

Glad you're starting a fresh new day of JUDDD. Have a good day! And we'll look forward to your updates!

Great attitude, Mom22boys!

Sophiethecat~you've done so well with JUDDD. How many carbs do you try to use as a range for 'moderate' carbs?
