Well it's back to Golden Corral for the senior special. It's sort of funny I may eat there twice a week who would have thought of going to an all you can eat place so ofton
when on a diet. When we have lost weight do we do the UD and DD calculations again? On the basis of 300lbs my UD and DD came up as 2856 and 714 calories. Well now if I calculate with my new weight of 275 I come up with 2668 and 667 calories. Carriying this further supose I get down to 150lbs am I suposed to cut my DD day calories to 357? Did the book talk about this? |

Up day here.
I started things w/ some chicken and broccoli quiche, a cup of coffee, and a low carb tortilla spread with about half an ounce of cream cheese. I have no idea what I'll be feasting on later, but I can tell you it won't have sugar in it! (52 hours SF as of now |

Talking about Golden Corral, the last time I ate there was late in the summer and I was still on LC. I remember I ate really good from the meats and veggies. The next time I go (whenever that may be, perhaps during Christmas shopping) I'll look forward to enjoying more of the carby things again as well as the meats and veggies |

and I just kept eating! What was I thinking!! ![]() Anyway, today's another day and I really want nothing to do with food today!! I know this will change tho as the day moves on.... And I'm ready. Can't slip now! So close. Only 12 pounds!! Not getting near the scale tho for a few days. Don't even want to know the damage done. ![]()

I'm doing a DD here too.
I plan to fast for most of the day, drinking just black coffee and water and perhaps some 0-calorie flavored beverage. I'll make an egg white scramble with lots of various veggies and a bit of ham in it for an early supper. And, I'm looking forward to a nice bowl of oatmeal, sweetened with Walden Farms 0-calorie pancake syrup for an evening snack. That gives me such a sense of well being, of warmth. ![]() Aiming for calories to come in between 500 and 600... depending on the amount of veggies and ham I end up putting in the scrambled eggs.

I have to confess I'm not feeling well today and it's my own fault. The dill pickle was a sort of "remedy" just to get something in me. No sympathy needed for me, guys - I did this to myself as I have many times in the past, and though I've greatly improved, now and then I'm just.... stupid. And my poor body suffers. *sigh*
![]() Pat, Would you mind taking a look at EW's post #4 in this thread? He had some specific calorie questions, and I'm no good with those yet. |

I'm proud of the soup I made. I've only had a little taste so far but the whole house smells wonderful!!
I tallied up total calorie count for it and if I ate it all, it would be a whole days's worth!! So far I've had: 5 prunes 12 almonds 1 oz cheese And I'm about to have some soup. I'm finding that it's easier for me to write stuff down(food, cals) instead of feeling like I'm chained to the computer. It's also cool because if I don't know the calories of it, I'm less likely to eat it. |

As to adjusting the calorie numbers, you can approach that in a couple of different ways. On most any level we understand that a man of 150 pounds can't expect to eat as many calories as is supporting a 300 pound man. So obviously, quite a bit of weight loss is going to mean that at some point calories are going to have to be reduced. The question is more about when you're going to do this. You can just wait until your weight loss has slowed down to a crawl and then stops, and that will be the sign that you are now maintaining that weight on the number of calories you are taking in. At that point, you can lower the calories another good chunk and start in again. That would work. But... If you re-figure your numbers about every 20 or 25 pounds, you shouldn't ever run into this slow-down and stall, and your weight loss should be expected to continue at a little faster pace. You'll always be working (eating) at a good calorie deficit this way. Another advantage is this: If you lower bit by bit by bit as you lose weight, you get used to each new calorie level as you move into it, so there won't ever be a big *cut back* in your calorie numbers. Each incremental cut to the overall calories doesn't cut you back so drastically that you feel you're going to go hungry. It gives your body and mind time to adjust between each time of another reduction. I'd choose the second way for myself, but I think either will work. ..........Never heard of a person on a diet eating at the Golden Corral. Isn't JUDDD a marvel? ![]() |

![]() On Up Days, it's as much oatmeal as I want, and then I put in a big glob of butter to melt, and a lot of brown sugar, and some cream over top. Maybe some raisins. Maybe some chopped dates. Some chopped walnuts. It's pretty much like a cookie! Well, cookie ingredients. ![]() On DDs, it's only a 1/4 cup measure of the oats, nuked and stirred, nuked and stirred in 1/2 cup of water until real creamy. I sprinkle some salt on it to *sort of* get a speck of the salty butter taste, and the Walden Farms 0-calorie pancake syrup takes the place of the brown sugar. It gives it a bit of a maple-y flavor. The syrup is Splenda, and I think it tastes completely acceptable for a Down Day. No milk or cream. Frankly, I don't expect Down Day foods to be remotely as good as Up Day foods. But, that's OK. I'm not doing DDs for the food. I'm doing DDs for the weight loss, and the gift of the fabulous UDs they are giving me, so I'm OK with DD foods that are a bit scant. I do appreciate the value of the fasting day, so I like to keep them pretty low calorie, and that means if I have Down Day Oatmeal, it isn't the *cookie* type. |

DD for me. Last DD I figured that I do much better if I just have coffee for breakfast and don't start eating until mid-afternoon. I've always been a night eater and found I need my calories then or I am starving at bedtime and wake up during the night hungry. So today:
B - Coffee Late Lunch - Turkey meatballs w/zucchini, green peppers, cauliflower, tomatoes, parmesan cheese Dinner - repeat lunch Snack - SF jello w/ dash of hwc and Swiss Miss Diet Cocoa Total Calories = 459 |
