My head is still :stars: from trying to adjust to the fact that it happened and happened so fast!

I'm 145# !!!! :jumpjoy: :jumpjoy:

Even though TOM is coming at any time and I thought I'd be bloated!

I started JUDDD 19 days ago, but if you take off the time where I messed up by going waayy over on calories every UD for about a week and ended up back at the 150# I started with...

Then I started back doing it right on the 22nd, and it took me just 9 days to lose 5#. This is with no exercise at all (though I intend to get back to my Callanetics & weight routine soon).

When I started LC back at the end of July, I had already lost at least 8# over 5 weeks by just cutting out most sugary stuff, cutting calories to no more than 1,500 daily, and walking. (I'd been mostly sedentary before as I am now).

I went on full LC because I thought it would be the healthiest diet and faster weight loss. I weighed 162# when I went on LC on July 26. I lost 12# on LC from July 26 until I started JUDDD on Oct. 12, so 11 weeks.

That's not bad weight loss really, it's just that I felt the whole time like my metabolism was sluggish. I kept waiting for my old "easy, fast" weight loss metabolism to return because I thought LC would heal me. I was retaining water most days of the month too.

On LC, I once went 12 days with no weight loss. As time progressed on the woe, I went 16 days with no weight loss. Toward the end, it was up to 21 days with no weight loss. My body would give up a pound or two here and there... a couple times I even lost 3# within a few days (a whoosh), but it seemed the weight loss was crawling to a stop the longer I was on LC.

I felt discouraged and though I was satisfied on LC with the easy food choices and not having to think about food or hunger that much (being in ketosis reduced my appetite so that I averaged 1,000 - 1,200 calories daily on LC) I disliked the way my loss was slowing all the time and how I felt like my metabolism wasn't healthy, the water retention, and I missed eating "normally" - from all foods at least now and then.

I had read Beeb's posts on the main lobby about JUDDD, accompanied by SoHappy's posts, but had determined to persevere on with LC because I didn't see at that time what JUDDD was really about and I thought LC was the healthiest diet on the planet. But then when she posted her http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/ma...ong-story.html post, and I started thinking about JUDDD in the back of my mind. Along with those last 5# I wanted to lose and how I needed to find a way to eat for life that wasn't so restrictive.

So I ventured over to JUDDD with an open mind, and read all I could find, and decided to try it. Within 2 days of starting, I'd already dropped a pound. And the next day another pound. And the next day another pound!

My birthday came on Monday, October 17, and I went out to a chinese buffet and wayyy overdid the calories. That would have been all right were it a one time thing, but I overate on all my UDs that week by 500 calories or more each time. By Sat. Oct. 22, I was back up to 150#.

Part of the problem was that I didn't know what my calorie limit really was since different calculators gave me different results and I'd seen that I could go over the JUDDD calculator on occasion and still be all right. So I figured up my calories and have stuck to them ever since Oct. 22.

I was rewarded with 2 pounds lost 2 days later. And by this past Saturday, another pound. Sunday, another pound. Today, another pound.

It's not just the weight loss for me. JUDDD has given me my old metabolism back.

It's given me better skin too. This is a very big deal to me because of hormonal issues I've had with my skin pretty much my whole life. And for about a year, I've had hard, painful cysts along my jaw and down onto my neck. LC helped reduce the number and size of them, and there would be about a week out of each month when I would look clear. But they'd always come back. On JUDDD, I don't get any cysts, and the pimples I do get are small and few and related to either TOM or overdoing wine or calories. The difference between my skin from JUDDD and even LC is amazing. I know JUDDD is reducing inflammation in my body and balancing hormones. There is a thread called "Skin on JUDDD" if anyone wants to know more about that.

Again, reduced inflammation. I don't know what this was, but starting this past June when we were on vacation, I noticed when I got up each morning and put my feet on the floor, started walking, I had strange aches in the bottoms of my feet, and almost like my feet needed to "wake up". The feeling would go away after a few minutes and my feet would feel normal until the next morning when it repeated. At first I thought it was from wearing flip flops and sandals around the beach because I have very high arches in my feet and have had problems before from not wearing quality footwear. But the problem persisted for months. I tried to ignore it but in the back of my mind I was accepting that I might have been developing a bit of arthritis. Well, you can probably guess where this is going. I don't seem to have this problem anymore on JUDDD. I just get up out of bed and start walking like I used to! :)

There are other things I've noticed that makes me believe JUDDD is reducing inflammation and helping me in just the short time I've been on it (19 days) I also wanted to add that even though I went over my calories too much that one week, my DD were good and I think JUDDD's benefits that were starting to build up in me hadn't quite left the building yet.

Well, this is getting too long, so let me wind it up.

I have reached my goal. :high5:

Thanks, Jo! :hugs:

I promise I'll put some pics up after I get back into Callanetics :)

I can't believe I'm at maintenance already. It seemed to loom forever on the horizon on LC, but BOOM! - here it is on JUDDD :)

I think I will stay on my same calories for now and see if I can drop a little more. Once I can fit into my "goal pants" I will probably stop and maintain.

The goal pants are brown dress pants I could wear with ease in early Nov. 2010, almost one year ago. I can pull them up, button and zip them now, but they are still a little too snug for comfort when sitting.
