Yesterday was 30 minutes of pilates, plus some deep cleaning--washing windows, ceiling fans, clearing cobwebs, vacuuming under beds and the like.

Today, not sure.

It may get easier! Yesterday I did a Zumba Class (1 hour) in the morning after having had 285 cals on my DD the day before. Didn't eat before the exercise class.

Didn't seem like much

I have been active for most of my life (black belt in Tae Kwon Do), so I am used to it. Just wish I was more consistent.
I lift only on UD, and I had a carby, BIG breakfast after.
I do cardio (various) on DD- for instance, today I simply cleaned house and went on a short, but fast, bike ride. I do jog (very occasionally), but I do not believe that more than a couple of miles is very good for you. I firmly believe in doing different things all the time.
I have never had issues with JUDDD and exercise, even on DD. My carb intake fuels all my needs, along with good protein and fat.

All that said, I still stand by the old saying that "Abs are made in the kitchen".

Eieio, I love your posts. I think I am right when I say you are retired, possibly in your late 50's, jog and lift weights regularly, and have been renovating an old house, (well, an old house by USA timings, lol, not by UK timings...) for a number of years. Also expert at Atkins. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I am 64 and I don't do nearly as much exercise as you. Generally, I do a couple of Zumba classes and an aerobics class each week, I try to do more, but life generally gets in the way....

However, I don't find it makes any difference whether it is an UD or DD. I always do my exercise in the morning before breakfast. Only drink water beforehand. Then I have a big milky coffee. Well it is usually soya milk, but you catch my drift.

No need to hang your head. Stand proud, eat you UD nutrients, stick with you DD calories and I am sure your body will soon be thankful. JUDDD is so much fun. Love having you here.

I just re-read my earlier post, and I realized that it wasn't clear. When I stated that it didn't seem like much, I was responding to the header in bold at the top of you post, Eieio, not your personal routine. I was mortified when it appeared that I was demoralizing your efforts.
I am a sensitive soul myself, so I just wanted to be sure I did not appear to be a complete jerk.

Haven't been to this thread in awhile.

I'm shifting my focus to more cardio..I had a lightbulb moment yesterday and maybe why I haven't been able to lose the lbs over the years(aside from dumb thyroid) is that I am not creating a big enough deficit.

When I was younger, 20-21(pre kids!!) I was active all day long..From the time I woke til I sat down for a couple hours before bed.
I was all about my diet. And funnily enough I was going off a list of foods a personal trainer gave me and told me not to eat. I also read a ton of magazines.

I hardly counted calories. I didn't even have access to the internet accept to email my husband.
I didnt know about lo carb this or gluten free that.
I treated myself once a week or so with take out or ice cream, etc.

About the only thing I haven't done in the last several years is cardio cause I hate it.
It would make sense to try. At least to recreate that staying active part. Going to the gym has just become part of my routine. Im not getting results from it.

now that Im older I have to work harder to burn up more cals. Otherwise Im just maintaining. I just hope I haven't damaged my metabolism too much and that the only way to lose is to drop the calories ridiculously low.

So hopefully thats where the magic of JUDDD comes in. I eat to train and do CARDIO and JUDDD to help with the deficit~!
Hopefully with the powers combined I'll start going in the right direction.

No hard feelings at all mattsmama. I appreciated ur input.

I was freaking about being off Atkins, due to no longer large meals of pig fat. Which I still love but not every day. Gross.
I admire u. Thanks

did 45 minutes on the eliptical this morning (482)
and then 20 minutes on the treadmill at a fast walking pace (161)

total of 643 calories

i have been exercising first thing in the morning in a fasted state (other then a cup of coffee with a small amount of cream) and i am fine energy wise.

I have even been lifting weights on both DD's and UD's

what i started doing about a week ago was to eat back my exercise calories or almost all of them on my DD's. So i do the 500 calories on my DD plus all or most of the exercise calories.

For example yesterday I ate 947 calories and i burned 468 calories in cardio, so that gave me a net of 479 calories, woke up to a 1.6 lb loss. I have been successfully losing each DD and upping those DD calories. Last week I lost 6.2 pounds in one week, this week so far .6 but there are still 3 days including today.

So my suggestion is if you work out moderate to high intensity try eating back some of those calories. I focus on getting in protein and use protein shakes on DD's.

Its more important that during my weight loss journey that I build muscle and only burn fat and not muscle.

yesterday I did a cycling class(spinning) and after that I did Zumba and then I went to work the next day and I was worn out all day. Today I am just chilling and then tomorrow I will get on my treadmill or eliptical.

Supposed to go roller skating today, but my thighs are killing me, so I'm not going to make it. Still going to take DD, but I'll sit this one out. Hopefully, if I feel better, I'll take her again tomorrow and skate too.

an "exercise funny" -- i've been wearing a bodybugg and yesterday had a bus driving lesson (i'm getting my cdl, test in just over a week) for the first time since i got it. upon review, it looks like i burned over 600 calories in just over 2 hours of driving. not sure why, or if that's accurate, but i thought it was funny! i did feel a little sore after but i thought it was because the steering wheel was poorly adjusted. now i know it's just because i was working out real hard!!
