That sounds fun Christina! I sooo need to get this old body moving! I'm thinking about doing a 5K in February, but at the rate I'm going, I'm just going to have to walk it. Still better than nothing.

45 minutes on the treadmill at varying speeds. I even jogged for a couple of minutes. Unfortunately, I accidentally pulled the emergency strap and shut it down part way through, so I have no idea what my distance was, but I had my HRM on and burned 285 calories. I'll have negative calories today.

5 mile walk for me today. Dawn, I did C25K last summer and was surprised that I could actually jog (very slowly!) for 30 minutes at the end of it. I quit because my hips started to hurt. That was 30 pounds ago. I think I might try it again once I lose 20 more pounds. Good luck and enjoy it!

I never got fast on C25K but I was focusing on being able to sustain the jog for 30 mins. I think I *may* have gone a little over 2.2 miles miles in 30 minutes. I was going to work on speed after I got comfortable with the endurance but never got there because of hip pain. Luckily the hip pain receded when the jogging did. I think it was just too much pounding on the joints at my then weight. Be careful and listen to your body! I hope to be back to jogging soon. I am still not a speedster but intersperse a bit of jogging in my walks to mix it up and add some oomph. 3.2 miles today.

I use to LOVE running! I did a mile and a half in 7 minutes. I use to run/ jog as a coping skill when stressed or angry. I loved it. I'm not allowed to do any impact since my spine surgery, but my dream is to get an eliptical (sp?) machine. I think I could love that. I really liked it during my physical therapy after my surgery. I'm also at a weight that should not make exercising to difficult on my hips which are not great either. I need to find something other than walking to help tone up some of this flab
It's also getting really cold and dark early so this deters my motivation to walk.

First - I HATE EXERCISE.
Second - I actually did a 15 minute ttapp workout last night and survived. I used to tolerate ttapping . Could never say I liked it because it is exercise. But for exercise it is not that bad and it works and is non impact. Third - I plan on doing the 15 minute routine every night until I can work my way back up to the entire routine which may take awhile. |

Did C25K Wk1, Day2 yesterday and forgot to log it here.
I only had the treadmill at an incline of 1.0 and burned significantly fewer calories. I also did it in the morning, and I take a beta blocker at night. I suspect, since I was in the middle of my dose, my heart rate might have been too low due to the meds too. Grr. |
