I have the opposite problem.....it's hard for me to get my heart rate up. Even if I run. My resting pulse is usually in the 50's but at night can dip down to the upper 40's.

I spent about 2 hours working out with weights this a.m. The increase in reps made it take a lot longer than I thought it would. Still plan to walk 5 miles but I took a break to eat and get some stuff done.

Wow KathyL
To me ur hr means ur in great shape. How long have u been exercising?
I had trouble getting my hr up this am on the stairs,it went only to 90 and my knees started complaining. So I jogged around our rooms, got hr to avg 140. Not great but I'm pleased to get to move in the house. Shuffled around 30 ish mins, not counting stopping few times to move furniture. Now we have an inside track. Ha. Will hold me a few days. Next time will crank up the music. Was amazing work out though. I worked up a sweats for awhile, always on my goal.
GOOOO us!

I've been exercising since January, 2011. Started with just walking and after 4 months I started adding in weight training and other cardio workouts. But my low hr is more due to hypothyroidism than to my exercise, I think. I really want to get a good monitor that I can wear while working out but everyone I've purchase so far (and returned) just didn't work well.

Hope it's okay if I just jump right in here...

Yesterday I walked 2 1/2 miles for my exercise, today, since it's snowy out I broke out the Callanetics DVD. Wow, forgot how hard that really is!

I finally managed to find all of the cables that "someone" borrowed from my exercise TV/VCR. Then started back on ttapp. I think I managed to get through the first two moves. Yikes. Am I out of shape or what? I remember years ago it took me 6 weeks to work my way through that program to where I could actually do the entire thing at one time. Might take me 3 months this time. BUT I STARTED!!

Plus, I just took a 30 minute bike ride to..of course ..the library. Packed a wonderful picnic for myself and ate it in one of the cabanas on the lake while watching the ducks play and listened to jazz on my phone. Life is good!

Got on the rebounder 3 separate times today, for between 2 and 5 minutes each time. So glad I had DH drag it out of the cellar and started using it again!

-2 minutes of gentle bouncing on the rebounder this a.m.

-25 min. Callanetics

-2 sets of 10 girly pushups

-2 sets of 10 dips

-2 more minutes on rebounder

I'll do some grocery shopping soon, so that will be a little walking and carrying. A little more rebounder later.

20 min on treadmill. P90X yoga. Hated the yoga at first but it's getting easier and it helps with balance. (this is someone who broke their leg getting out of bed about 14 years ago!)

Rest day for me. Although I was wanting to run a little this morning.
Morning Showers change the plan.
Since I'm a 1956 model.
I take two rest days a week, at least.

Callanetics.

I think I'm going to switch my Callanetics day to my up days. It just feels too shaky and frantic to eat after I work out doing Callanetics when I'm on a DD. I can walk easily on DDs and be okay, so I think I'll do that instead.
