It's WEDNESDAY! What are you eating?

Much-needed DD for me, and I'm looking forward to it.

B - black coffee (so glad I love it black and prefer to drink it that way even on my UD) :)

Mommie22boys 10-26-2011 08:33 AM

DD for me today, too. I really like my DDs. :)

B: coffee w/ SF creamer (34)
L: turkey/bean soup, FF hot dog w/ lite MW for dipping, laughing cow wedge (146)
S: Dannon light & fit toasted coconut yogurt (80)

That brings me to 260. Unsure of the rest of the day, but we're supposed to be buying dinner at Arby's tonight for a hockey fundraiser. I'll have to check their website to see if they have anything that I can fit in to my day. I'll update later.

Have a rockin' day!!

SoHappy 10-26-2011 08:46 AM

I'm doing a DD today too. I plan to do a repeat of my last Monday DD.. that is, mugs of black coffee and sniff my peppermint oil, enjoy glucomannan gel throughout the day (this one will be strawberry and 35 cals for 21/2 CUPS of the stuff, and then an egg scramble w/veggies and a bowl of oatmeal this evening. This will come in at about 250 calories.

2muchme 10-26-2011 09:16 AM

Up today. Had bacon and eggs for breakfast along with slice of cinnamon "toast" (gluten intolerant and used low carb recipe) I don't know about the rest of the day. I have a chicken I'd like to roast. Or maybe chili.

betty301 10-26-2011 09:42 AM

Wow Pat!!
Are you trying to shed a couple more lbs for the Holidays??

UD for me.

I ate before training and my stomach felt like it had shrunk. I had a cup of greek yogurt but it felt like a bowl full of veggies.

When I got home I tossed back a whey shake. Just a scoop in 5oz of skim milk..shake, chug.

Lunch- rice/peas/2 pork chops

Thats all I got planned so far!

Dottie 10-26-2011 10:13 AM

DD for me. If I can't make myself eat bread, I'll add more shrimp and a diced tomato to the soup lol:)
B: coffee; cup almond milk through the day
D: soup(1 cup pacific naturals chicken broth, 3oz shrimp, cup celery, 6oz cauliflower “rice”) and a sandwich(maybe lol- bread!); 2sl delightfuls whole grain (45 cals per slice), 1 slice smoked ham, mustard, lettuce
S: 4oz sknls/bnls chicken breast, cup green giant broccoli and 3 cheese(45 cals)
Using SoHappy’s idea, I brewed a real strong cup of ginger peach tea, added some stevia and gluc powder. My primal version of jell-o lol.
471cals, 38g carbs, 14g fiber, 59g protein

Dottie 10-26-2011 10:50 AM

Decisions.. decisions lol.
I'm going to eat 1/2 the soup now, I'm not hungry but my body is saying I need to eat something! I'll save the other half and the sandwich for later if I need something :)

Sissiesue 10-26-2011 10:54 AM

DD today. I'm shooting for 500 cal.

B: Coffee
L: Egg cream (easy to bring to the office and store in the fridge) - 240 cal
D: Some sort of vegetable soup with an egg or some oil - 200 calories planned
S: Swiss Miss Cocoa (it's COLD here. We had snow yesterday.)

I plan to drink a lot of hot water today. I did that on my first DD (Monday), and it seemed to help a lot.

stardustshadow 10-26-2011 11:06 AM

Well, that wouldn't hurt me, but mainly it's because... did you see that I ate nearly 2400 calories yesterday? Old women eating at that calorie level can run into some terrible trouble if they keep it up without countering it. I like to counter it with a strict JUDDD Down Day.

darlingnikki 10-26-2011 11:37 AM

UD today. hoping to find my appetite again!
B-LC waffles with SF PB becel and WF Syrup 550 cals

RileyWorm 10-26-2011 01:47 PM

UD but I honestly have no clue. Had a family gathering today and have no clue how to count what I ate. But I know it was probably close to 1000 if not more. Good thing I had a really good DD yesterday so hopefully tomorrow will be a good DD too (today I ate pasta con broccoli, pumpkin eclair cake, jello salad, vegetable casserole, to name a few things!! yikes!!!)

Adding a cup of diet Swiss Miss to my log. Today's DD total so far: 285 calories.

Low Carb Librarian 10-26-2011 03:42 PM

2muchme 10-26-2011 03:49 PM

betty301 10-26-2011 04:11 PM

2muchme 10-26-2011 04:12 PM

I love UD!!

And no guilt!

SoHappy 10-26-2011 04:14 PM

I find it interesting that often as I am fixing my DH's dinner, I find it takes away my own hunger. LOL I'll be breaking my fast for this DD at suppertime with him.

I'll be eating my first calories of 4 egg whites scrambled with 2 oz green pepper, 1 oz onion, and 1 oz mushrooms.

I made the strawberry glucomannan gel this afternoon. Supposedly only 23 calories in THREE WHOLE CUPS of this stuff, and Oh, My! It is tasty stuff. I sampled a little of it, and it's definitely going to be a snack later on.

And, later, I'll also be eating my bowl of oatmeal with brown sugar and some WF 0-cal syrup.

****** says calories for this DD are 223, with 31 net carbs.

Cruzcrzy 10-26-2011 04:20 PM

DD for me. Fortunately, I haven't had much hunger. I really think my body is getting use to the cycling.

B - 2 cups coffee w/h/h
Protein shake w/tblsp. peanut butter
L - Protein shake
D - Fage 2% greek yogurt

I am at 475 calories. I think I am done for the day.

I have to share that I had so much energy today. I walked longer and farther than I ever have. I had to force myself to stop, lol. Could it be carb energy from my fest yesterday???:hyst:

2muchme 10-26-2011 04:20 PM

What is strawberry glucomannan gel?

laceymichelle 10-26-2011 04:32 PM

It's okay. Tomorrow is a down day, and you will be fine:hugs:.

SoHappy 10-26-2011 04:38 PM

This is how I made this gel.

2 cups strawberry lemonade 0-calorie beverage
1 cup boiling water
1 tbsp strawberry jello powder
nearly a tbsp glucomannan powder

I stirred the strawberry jello powder into the boiling water until it dissolved.

Next time, I'll not use water, but use more of the strawberry 0-calorie beverage, and just heat that to stir the gelatin powder into.

I get the smoothest gel by putting everything into a large skillet and whipping it with my wire whisk as I sprinkle in the glucomannan powder

Refrigerate until it all sets up, and PRESTO! Strawberry gel which is similar to that gel base for a fresh strawberry pie.

I use the strawberry jello powder that is sweetened with sugar, because I don't avoid sugar, and because I hate the taste of the artificial sweetener in S/F gelatins. But if you don't mind that taste, you could use that powder for the stronger strawberry flavor the jello powders impart to the gel.

The only reason I even put jello powder in this was because the strawberry-flavored beverage isn't flavored strongly enough for a gel, which I want to really have a strong strawberry flavor.

I'll eat about 1-1/2 cups of this yet tonight, for about 23 calories. Very, very filling stuff!

Thanks for the recipe- I might make it tonight yet. I've been avoiding sf jello because I gave up aspartame a month ago (successfully!), but I had not considered using the "real" thing lol

Well, just more of my heresy.

I use a very little Walden Farms 0-calorie pancake syrup (splenda) on my Down Days only.
And the sugar free pickle relish rarely but occasionally on a DD. Also splenda sweetened. But i do like this s/f flavored beverage that Aldi sells. So a couple of glasses of that each week for sure.

The rest of the time, if I want sweetener, it's either sugar or brown sugar. Well, then I'll need dark Karo corn syrup for my pecan pies at Thanksgiving. But I think that's it. Oh, wait! I also sometimes like to spread jam on my buttered toast at breakfast. But, I'm sure that's it. I avoid HFCS pretty much because I rarely drink sodas.

I include most everything that I had previously avoided. That *moderation* thing really ended up working just fine for me. :)

2muchme 10-26-2011 05:31 PM

I, too, avoid HFCS. Think we use so much sweetener in soda and pastries that people must have thought it just wasn't sweet enough....had to add additional sweet to things. Hence, HFCS. So much for taste buds!! Ok, I'll get off the podium.....

Thanks for the recipe. Do you think I could use arrowroot? or does it not thicken enough. That's what I'm thinking. I think I answered my own question. I'll hit netrition and do it right. Thank you.

sunnilou 10-26-2011 06:53 PM

It's my 1st DD, it went ok but not great.

B 2 eggs
L shrimp cocktail
S popcorn And banana
D 2 bowls pasta fagoli soup

Ended up with 787 calories. I should have better prepared with more protein. Live and learn
