Ok. I think I'm ready for the plunge. I, too, have been stalled for some time now. Hard to have ANY motivation after this. I've done atkins too many times, i think, and it's just not working for me anymore. However....when I finally reach goal at least I'll know how to maintain!!

I'll join you!! Tomorrow will be my first DD. Have powdered shakes from Shakeology from -not sure how long- but the dates are good and the calories are 140 each (mixed w water, of course). Yeah.....sick of this plateau!!! Time to move now.

oopsie i created quite a stir with my snickers comment!! lol. well after dieting for a year sometimes you just want a snickers. it was either that or a bag of chips out of the snack machine at work. it was a toss up. lol. peanut butter m&ms would have been good too.

2muchme, welcome to JUDDD. I'm glad you're going to be joining us here, and wish you all the very best on this eating plan. Folks here are losing weight and eating go-o-o-od...

Good luck with your DD tomorrow. I can't do the shakes, but I know it is what is recommended to start. Let us know how it's going for you!

Hi 2muchme.....so glad you are joining us! It is a great way to live...

rileyworm: You caused a stir in a good way! Why not have a snickers if you can afford the calories and it doesn't make your binge. Way to GO!

We don't judge others when they occasionally have a food item that is not the healthiest. We take our kids to get icecream etc....but then often times we deny ourselves any little treat at all....and we pretend that the steak we ate for dinner was enough.

I think personally I am going to work a Butterfinger into my UD soon. The fact that you can have one takes the power away from it!

I used my goal weight and did light exercise and used several calories and settled on 1800-1900 on my UD (but have gone as high as 2000). I am 5'7" and weigh 218 if that helps you.

That is one of the most precious gifts JUDDD has given me too. The freedom to join in the celebrations of life that seem to center around feasts and the sharing of food.

I think man has always celebrated the highlights of life with food, from providing the feast for guests to a wedding to a mother sharing her food with her children. And it's a delight!

Now I can participate fully. We like going out for a steak dinner. Or pastries & coffee. Or an ice cream. Now it doesn't matter what the food is... nothing is off limits, and I appreciate that so much!

I'm really looking forward to my Holiday baking this year!

I feel so sad at all the times I did not eat a piece of my own kids' birthday cake!

Yeah, so I must be even more deviant than I thought because I have all kinds of naughty things on my UD and don't bat an eyelash. I've had Big Macs, french fries, wine, all kinds of sweet things, pizza, potato chips... maybe not all in one UD, but many combinations of those things!

Maint would be 2136 - Fat loss 1709 - Extreme Fat loss 1282 calories..

I am going w/the 2136

2muchYes I am starting today! Yay you too!!!
I dont have shakes to start with so I am eating my DD w/soups or salad.

Riley I love choc! I cant wait to see how this is going to work for me..

Kris4 Ty It does help we are about the same.

SoHappy There are so many celebration's centered around feasts, and sharing food.
What do you do if you want to plan an up day for a party?
If you already are set and it falls on a DD..Do you switch it up and have two DD's or Two UD's to be able to have a UD on the party..
This plan does not seem to be stressful at all.

Addict I am soooo looking forward to my glass of red wine in the evenings!

Sophie You naughty naughty you
All those things you mention you have on your UD's wow...
I -I dont know what to say about that

Yes, the dark side of the force compelled me to eat 2 chocolate chip cookies this morning! COMPELLED me, I tell ya! Mwahahahah!

No, the great thing is, I set aside 2 cookies last night for my UD today and was happy with just two, when a year ago I would have had half a box in one sitting

Now I'm in control. I can eat anything I want every other day, and therefore, somehow, no single food has the sway over me it used to.

sophie i plan on being the same way once i get into the swing of things. i'm staying mostly LC but the great thing about JUDDD is no guilt if you eat something that's not LC!! that is what really appealed to me with this WOE.

So I am curious. Those of yall who came here from HCG how did it work out? Did you end up gaining weight back? If I do come over to JUDDD it will be after I finish my Round on November 7th. Man to have chips again.lol! I am thinking of subway and bag of hot cheetos! lol Although my UP would not be super high as I am 119.6. Thinking I will be 115 by the time I come over and I am only 5'0''. I think my UP would be about 1300 but I could be wrong.

joflora, go to the thread Adjusting UD/DD that is on the front page here. It will allow to use a MD (medium day) which is the total of your DD and UD calories and dividing by 2 to give you the calories for that day.
