Prayers Needed For Miss Cleo

My little girl in this picture is sick. She is almost 10 years old and we went to the Vet today because she just hasn't been feeling well. She is my BEST friend and I'm just so worried about her right now.

Well, Dr. did xrays/blood work and says he doesn't like the way her liver looks. Not a good thing and I'm asking for prayers that the blood work comes back telling us something different!

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers, I'm not doing too well right now with this.

Miss Cleo.

Prayers out to you! I am so sorry to hear that. What a cute little one you have there. I so know what you are going through. 1 month ago my dog, Jessie, ruptured a disk in her back. Thankfully with crate immobility she is coming around! Mine is just shy of 10 too!

THey are the best friends to have!

Linda! Yes, lots of prayers!!!

I can so relate, my dobes are my children! Take a deep breath, and hug Cleo. She can sense your anxiety, too. You need to stay strong for her. Here's hoping the bloodwork results show a better picture!!!

I'll sure add my prayers and positive thoughts to those here.

I've been a big animal lover all my life with lots of furry, feathered, and finned pets around me all my life. And to tell you the truth, many of my most loving and loved friends have been non-human.

Let us know what happens. I sure hope this test comes back being OK.

Oh no, I am so very sorry. Prayers coming for Miss Cleo and YOU. My heart is breaking for you, Linda. Miss Cleo looks like my sweet Woody dog that I lost in November 2009. I still miss him every day. He was my beloved companion and friend. I am so sorry for what you are going through.

Wanted to ask how soon the bloodwork is supposed to be back? When should you be hearing something about whether there is a big problem or not? My mind keeps going back to you and cleo. Still keeping my fingers crossed and waiting to hear something from you.

Hi Linda, I'm not on JUDD, but I enjoy lurking here because of the focus on calories, and I teared up when I read your post. My little dog is my best friend too.

I just said a prayer for you and Miss Cleo. She is beautiful.

Hello everyone. Well, the Dr. called right before I had to go to work last evening and told me Cleo has Kidney failure. This is usually not good, but we are going to try a Kidney flush for 3 days at the Vets (which is breaking my heart because she has never had to stay over at a Vet's before except when she was fixed as a pup) and then we will go from there with more blood work and see if this will help. I have been online for hours looking at things I can do from home and it looks like a higher fat/very low phosphates diet is the best. Off to the grocery store to get the foods to start making her meals. She is still eating, but only what I make for her right now, does not want her dog food at all and is very lethargic.

It's been a very hard 24 hours trying to figure out what to do and how to do it, but I have faith that maybe we can make her quality of life a little better and give her (and me) some more time than is expected.

The only thing I keep praying for, and maybe is a selfish thing on my part, is that I DO NOT want to have to make a decision that I KNOW is going to break my heart in so many pieces. My prayer is that I can give her the best I can and she will quietly pass when her time is done here with me. And I also told her she needs to stick around because I need her to help me rake the leaves, and then open her Christmas presents on her own as she always done in the past 10 years.

Please keep her in your prayers, because I truly believe in that there is power in numbers and with all that energy miracles can happen!

Thanks everyone and I will keep you all posted on Little Miss's progress. She also says "Thank you all for caring for my Mom and me".

Aww, Beeb, I have had several cats die of kidney failure. The last one literally died in my arms. I had that cat for 15 years. She saw me through college, graduate school, boyfriends, marriage, two children... That cat was the one constant in my life through the most temultuous part of it. I feel you pain, Beeb. Big *hugs*
